    A versatile, player-controlled land management plugin for use with Bukkit/Tekkit/Spigot/Libigot, offering solutions for pvp, griefing, chat, inflated economies and monsters.

    Towny includes a wide variety of features to offer instant enhancements to your traditional Minecraft server.
    • Allows players to own and manage land based on a pre-set grid layout.

    when pvp is forced on for a specific world when you enter a town it says no pvp however when you do /town here it says PvP. please fix it is confusing my players.

    Fixed in dev. Read the changelog there are new permission nodes and changes to townychat.

    You need to use an underscore if your town name is more than one word. The rest of that isn't towny.

    In the /towny/plugins/data/worlds/worldname.txt file remove leaves from the ignore id list. This will also stop them from breaking leaves in the wild.

    The how towny works page has instructions for doing an embassy shopplot. A suggestion is already on the tracker to allow mayors to kick players from plots.

    I don't think nations have a friends key?

    Since MC 1.8 I've noticed some biomes don't spawn many passive mobs. People who settled in a plains biome probably won't see a difference, but other places are almost devoid of passive mobs. Towny isn't removing them unless you altered the config to do it.

    Old towny war is still bugged, its about to get a major overhaul. Shade's war flag game that you've read is in towny advanced and can be turned on, but its missing money-rewards and polishing. We haven't had much feedback telling us how balanced it might be.

    Your name is probably too long, iconomy doesn't allow names over a certain length for accounts.

    This is a great plugin that you guys made. I'm having one weird and detrimental issue with it and any help that you could provide would be great. Whenever a town mayor attempts to add a new user to their town they get this error:
    "The player who made this request is no longer online.." Even if the town mayor is online. I've tried completely reinstalling towny and deleting certain files but no luck. I'm running bukkit build 1538 with the the most recent towny build. This basically does not allow any user to join a town in-game and thus renders towny useless. Once again thank you for reading this, please provide a solution.

    I have a BIG question, when will this work with mysql? There are TONS of reasons why this plugin would be SO awesome if it used a database instead of flatfiles. Im so hoping that you will add support for it within a near future. If you could give me a somehow when you think that will be, i would be more than happy :)

    You don't put your name on the end. Pastebin.com your full server startup and the error you get when you don't include your name.

    You're probably using something like SimpleClans, that also uses /accept. You can set aliases for towny's questioner in towny's config.

    Please list the TONS of reasons.

    When people try to ally each others Nations, it does not save when the server restarts.

    When I try destroying something outside of the town (in wildy) it says
    [Towny] Not allowed to destroy in the wild.
    Where's the configuration to allow to destroy in the wildy?

    People on my server are creating Nations and Towns with huge names that take up a large portion of the chat. Is there a way to set a town and nation to only be X amount of characters long?

    I require a bit of assistance. I've been wanting to give normal users the ability to build/destroy/use items/switch in the wild, I've set the things to true, but still nothing! Help! D:

    I would, but I went off Permissions a while ago because it caused me a lot of problems.

    You can change the settings in the towny\data\worlds\worldname.txt then, towny doesn't require permissions for most things, some new features are more configurable when you use a permissions plugin.

    Experiencing a strange bug on or server where seeds can be planted fine in the wild or world guard regions but in towns a good majority of the time they just disappear after planting not sure what the acculturate might be. This is true for wheat seeds pumpkin seeds and watermelon seeds. Bukkit build 1550. Thanks

    Towny used to not require permissions. Make sure that using_permissions in your config is set to false.

    so i came up with a plan for shops on my server, currently using chestshops and towny and lwc to do the shops-

    chestshops can only be placed on shop plots, chest is locked with lwc so users cant steal from it, and signs are used for the shop itself.

    i used to have a mall, there was 3 levels of 10x10 shops and players were able to rent these shops using signs and residence plugin. the users prefer that over the current way.

    is there a way i can do this with towy?
    i would just need a way to set 10x10x5 plots.

    if not, is there a way i can make it so the only destroyable thing on a shop plot is a sign?
    that way i could make the mall all in shop plots then players would just lock the chests in the shop and place a sign and lock that with lwc too?

    Just wanted to pop in here, and find out how goes the MySQL support?

    Towny is bringing my server to it's knees with saving and loading (Mind you it's a pretty powerful server). It's easily the most sluggish plugin on my server atm, and that is saying something because I have quite a lot of them.

    When I use /nation ally add (town)

    I get a message saying "Town doesn't belong to a nation."

    Players can share a shop plot they just need build/destroy rights. You might run into trouble with ChestShop, it will check to make sure the person making the shop is also the owner of the plot.

    my server is public..so i can't really trust every player...
    i can make the plots unowned..i have worldguard for another plugin- could i use worldguard for the protection?

    also- on my server theres 2 towns, so i have a nation for them. whenever i restart the server the nation dissappears, but its not a rollback because town changes stay, and the money is still the same after the restart.
