    New Towny Website!

Taking Shades' Towny a step farther.

      • Players join towns and purchase plots of land.
      • Players decide who can build, destroy, use "switchs" and use items on every plot they control.

    • Wilderness Rules (Optional)
      • Area between towns is wilderness, with its own build permissions.
      • Limit players' interaction with the wild to just harvest-able blocks, keeping the wild pristine.
      • Roll-back tnt, creeper, wither explosions, dragon damage and endermen block-moving.
      • Block explosions and fire.
    • PVP Enhancements
      • Server with a strong PVP aspect will find Towny's grouping of players to be invaluable.
      • Prevent friendly-fire. (Optional)
      • Nations split players into larger teams.
      • Nations can declare other nations to be allies or enemies, further splitting players into even larger teams.
      • PVP can be turned on/off in wilderness, towns and worlds. (Optional)
    • Teleporting/Warping and Spawning (Optional)
      • Players can spawn to their town upon death.

iConomy 5.01 works fine with 1.8, don't think item-currency is in 5.01 though.

Way to go, wrong answer and in caps to boot. Towny 0.76 works in 1.8, though it is recommended you use the latest Dev build, as there is a fix to arrow-behaviour in it.
  4. Then explain why i got errors when using Iconomy and Towny together, i tried both 5x and 6x of Iconomy.
when i only used Towny, bukkit did not give me errors.

Well you probably know by now that towny doesn't support ico6, it was probably something you did when you rolled back/downgraded iconomy back to ico5.

  6. Yes that was it :)

Can we get support for iConomy 6 please :)....even better would be with Register so ALL economies can benefit!

Do you guys plan to add Plot depth (or is it possible)?

    Elaborating on that questions:

Person sets up a town with multiple "levels" the mayor can set plots on that level for sale without effecting the ones below.

Oke, when i use this towny plugin i get this error:

    Anyone knows what is wrong?

Is that after your initial server start with the new plugin ??

I dont know exactly what you mean cause my English is not so good but i got this problem when i putted the plugin in the pluginfolder and started up my server
  12. I will not be supporting Register, in it's current format. If it's released as a stand alone plugin then I'll reconsider.

You likely have a space in one of yoru world names, OR you are using an unusual multiworld plugin.

I have a simple question that came up by one of my users, but the situation hasn't come up where I can answer it..perhaps someones knows.

Say I have 1 person set to get a single 20x20, then at 4 people they get 4 20x20's...(using the town_block_ratio: '0' method and defining 'levels' in the townBlockLimit).

ok, now say they get the 4 people, and gain the 4 'blocks'...what happens if they loose a person? they still keep the 4 blocks, and only pay tax of the lower ranked city? or do they somehow loose blocks back down to the single 20x20.
  15. Offline

The town that loses a player and goes down to 3 residents will still have 4/3 townblocks in their /town screen. The upkeep they pay will be for a 3 person town.

ah, ok thanks for clearing that up.
I'll find a way to get around that, I know my players, they will take 10 people all join a city to reach the "10 player" sized town(I got it set sizes change at 1, 5, and 10 residents) claim all the blocks, and all leave but one, grab one more person to have 10 again..and repeat :)

so id end up with 15 HUGE towns all of one player, paying for a one player hermit tax :p
anyway to tax a town for blocks they have over their limit? so I can tell them "you can do that, but its going to be X dollars a day for "overgrowth" tax until you unclaim them."

and thanks for taking the time to answer all my mundane questions all the time. but this plugin is 95% of what my server theme was before towny..without this, the entire theme of the server would be back to manually doing it by hand. (thank god those days are over).

I would love to know the answer to this if possible. Thx

The idea of splitting up all plots into vertical sections is probably never going to happen. If you visit our issue tracker and see issue 82, the plot-type issue, you'll see there is a couple proposed plot-types that do it in very minor ways.

One is the mine plot-type, a plot in which the mayor sets the depth below which any resident can build/destroy. This would be useful for turning town-road-plots into mines below the road surface which is still protected.

The other is much more difficult/might not ever happen, a plot type which cuts a chunk into vertical slices which can be claimed individually.

Thats a shame however I can understand that would be pretty difficult.

If your concern is with the fact that you have to import its' source into your project than Niji has already consolidated it into a JAR API Library you can use

If you are using Bukkit's API to develop this plugin (I certainty hope you are....) then you should have NO problem with this (https://github.com/iConomy/Register/tree/master/dist)

Niji has said herself that iConomy 5.0 is a broken plugin series that is a mess and has TOO many issues. I know that iConomy 6 isn't released yet (she said it would be soon) but I think people would like the option of a stable beta over a broken release.
  21. I've not seen one thing (other than banks) which is broken in iCo5. It works perfectly.
But, as Register is now available as a Jar, I'll take another look at it.
  22. Offline

Also chiming in to say that from the day I installed ico5 I've never had an issue with it, not one. Whatever bugs do exist are a low priority and I think a large part of why niji switched to ico6 is that the new features ico6 will bring to the table couldn't be written into ico5.
The admins who've used ico5 know that the bugs aren't a factor, aside from banks.
  23. Offline

Only bad thing about ico6 is that the databases wont cross over from ico5 without assistance from another plugin (atleast at this point they dont)
  24. Offline

Niji added a built-in converter for ico5>ico6 databases.
  25. Offline

This will make A LOT of people happy, but doesn't effect me lol, I still just use iCo5
  26. Offline

Sir i will LOVE you if you support iConomy 6 :D
  27. I have some problem with residents list. In old towny I can list all residents by typing /town. Now, message is cropped and towny print on screen only few residents in my town "and more". How to lis all (not only online) residents in selected town? My town have 80 residents and I can't kick inactive players because I can't see their nick's!
  28. Offline

I ask myself a question. A resident can it belong to two or more cities? This is provided in a future update?

  29. Offline

Just startet using towny, loving the idea!!!
Is it right that ppl belonging to a town can destroy blocks on any plot, even on the homeblock?
    Can i change this somewhere?

I also have a problem with iconomy and towny together, getting a error at the startup of the server... Anyone know this?
