Towny includes a wide variety of features to offer instant enhancements to your traditional Minecraft server.
    • Allows players to own and manage land based on a pre-set grid layout.
      • Players join towns and purchase plots of land.
      • Players decide who can build, destroy, use "switchs" and use items on every plot they control.
      • Towns can join together into nations, further structuring a server into teams.

    • Wilderness Rules (Optional)
      • Area between towns is wilderness, with its own build permissions.
      • Limit players' interaction with the wild to just harvest-able blocks, keeping the wild pristine.
      • Roll-back tnt, creeper, wither explosions, dragon damage and endermen block-moving.
      • Block explosions and fire.
    • PVP Enhancements
      • Server with a strong PVP aspect will find Towny's grouping of players to be invaluable.
      • Prevent friendly-fire. (Optional)
      • Nations split players into larger teams.

  2. Ok Solved, thx. I have other question or suggestion, i dont know. There are anyway to claim a plot out of a city. For example a player that want her house in a mountain far away from civilization? (but this plot doesnt count as town)

And the last question (sorry :S) Are there anyway to make compatible with RegenBlock plugin? If RegenBlock plugin detects wilderness we can allow players to recolect materials and this material regenerates in a few hours or minutes.

    1. No this is not possible only towns can claim land,

    2. The regenblock author could hook the towny api to only regen things in the wilderness.
  4. So.. Do I have to talk to him?
  5. Offline

You could ask him nicely to add towny support.

Hey, we block portal creation via worldguard. However, towny over rides that.
Players can create portals inside of towns, even though worldguard blocks it every where else.
I reported it a while ago, no fix though.

    Any suggestions?

I don't think I've seen a ticket on the issue tracker for that.

Created a ticket. Any suggestions for the mean time?

When doing a /town list, when listing townname[#], some of the town's [#] gets wrapped to the next line, which causes some macro mods to not detect the towns... any chance that the townname[#] can be forced to be on the same line, or move the entire townname[#] to the next line?

So I'm trying to create a huge town for my server, but cannot as I can only claim 8 pieces of land. How can you make yourself have like 100 available lands as an admin/op?
  16. You must use bonus townblocks or increase the total in the config
  17. Offline

    Use '/ta givebonus yourname 100'

I'm going to be moving my server's map to a new one soon and was wondering if there is an easy way (or any way) to move the towns over to the new world without having to delete and recreate them? I want the towns to retain their residents, banks and bonus plot amounts but plot location data to be expunged. Would simply having mayors "/t unclaim all" work, or would it leave home-blocks and outposts all around?

And if that did work, how would they go about founding new location, since town claiming is based around plot where town was created, would they have to buy an outpost in new world and then move home-block location there?
  19. Offline

If they use /t unclaim all, all of their homeplots, outposts and what not are unclaimed. They will retain their banks/residents/bonus plot amounts and then they will be free to claim new plots in the new world.

Ok, thanks man! Just didn't know if there was some special trick to it or something.

  22. Offline

Towny only blocks rightclick if the item/block they are clicking on is in the switch list in the config.

I added my towny when my server started (i love towny i hate factions) but i cant do anything anymore it says it on my server but i type /town and nothing happends! Help!

Stop your server, move your server.log out of the craftbukkit directory. Start your server, let it load completely, then stop it. A new server.log will be created, please upload it to http://pastie.org or http://pastebin.com and post the link in the thread.

One of my players discovered an issue we're having with Towny... Residents are able to withdraw from their Town banks!?
How do I disable/fix this problem? I don't want mayors and their assistants to log in one day and find that one of their residents ran off with all the town's money? x.x
  26. Offline

You've given them the node in your permission plugin's file. Remove any nodes in that file that belong to towny, aside from towny.wild.*

Towny's permission nodes are mostly handed out in the townyperms.yml, which is pre-configured for you.

Mobs are spawning in towns that have mob spawns off. Task #2585 is spamming my console with exceptions?
  28. A friend claims there are multiple ways to exploit towny (no details). I've not heard about any myself, so i just want to check with you guys.
Are there any known towny exploits out there, that has not been fixed yet?
  29. Offline

    File an issue ticket.

Your friend is welcome to join one of our servers and prove it.

I filed one, but I don't know what that'll do, except maybe the server.log. Other then that, i've browsed the configs a lot to see what I might have done to mess up the removal of mobs. Did you want a copy of the full exception from Task #2585?
