    A versatile, player-controlled land management plugin for use with Bukkit/Tekkit/Spigot/Libigot, offering solutions for pvp, griefing, chat, inflated economies and monsters.

    Features (open)

    Towny includes a wide variety of features to offer instant enhancements to your traditional Minecraft server.
    • Allows players to own and manage land based on a pre-set grid layout.
      • Players join towns and purchase plots of land.
      • Players decide who can build, destroy, use "switchs" and use items on every plot they control.
      • Towns can join together into nations, further structuring a server into teams.
      • Towns grant protection from monsters, pvp, fire, explosions and greifing.

      • Area between towns is wilderness, with its own build permissions.

    Ok, I see there's apparently support for SQL databases in the config, but I can't seem to find any instructions for setting it up. Anyone using this?

    So let me get this straight, there is no dev build for towny, because it doesn't work since the 1.2.3 update. I downloaded the latest dev build from the Jenkins page, but it gives me an 'Internal error' when I try to create a town. pEx nodes: http://pastebin.com/jHGuRFKU I have the 1.2.3 beta bukkit build and here's my server startup:

    Never mind. I found the error. Apparently iConomy was having some errors. I took it out temporarily and towny is working fine now! Thanks for your help.

    I am not sure if I found a bug, or if this is how it is supposed to work...

    I want to use plot based town upkeep. My base is 1.0 per plot. I want towns with more members, to pay less per plot.

    So a 1 man town of 10 plots would pay 50 total.
    But a 10 man town of 10 plots would pay 10 total.

    I tried doing this by setting hte upkeepmodifier less and less per higher town level, but it is not working. It does not seem to be using the upkeepmodifier at all when I have plot based taxes.
     
  9. The upkeep modifier is for upkeep, not taxes.

    Okay so I used the wrong term at the end, but my question still stands...

    Does "upkeep modifier" not get used when using "town plotbased upkeep"?
     
  13. No. If you are using town level based upkeep the multiplier is applied to the upkeep.
    If you are using plot based the number of claimed plots is multiplied by the upkeep.

    Towny works for 1.2.3
    only i cant build in the wilderness.

    i have all wilderness settings on true so all build and destroy must be available in the wild... it works in towns.
    i have also the wilderness settings at data/world changed but i can't build in the wildy. there is no message anymore that is not allowed to build in the wilderness but i cant build destroy switch or do anything in the wild.... only if i make me op i can build...

    can someone please help me?

    "/Townyworld regen" is no longer working. My FAVORITE feature :(

    Also, players can still PLACE blocks in protected areas, yet can't destroy them, even with build on.

    Additionally, and this is a big one. There are lots of plots that can't be modified at all, and give the message that they are locked. This has gone on for over a week, if not longer. Not sure why they are always locked.

    Any remedy for these issues?

    Craftbukkit R.01, MC 1.2.3. Latest Towny dev versions.

    How would the everyday server admin go about creating multiple towns? It appears that it can't be done or am I mistaken? It would be a VERY nice feature to have. I could easily patch the security issues with many plugins if I could have all the cities created before the server goes live. Thanks for your time.

    You have probably done something to your towny config that made it not like you, to which it then went into safe mode, in safe mode it locks players last locations(i believe) and when you move to far from that location, bukkit then thinks your trying to hack and so it kicks you, so the moving to fast part isnt towny, its just towny in safe mode and bukkit responding with players hacking.

    Solution: check your server.log for any errors as to why this is happening, run the server once to let it generate a new log and then paste on here in a pastebin, then ElgarL can help you properly :)

    Placing is Building so there's nothing fishy here.
    Plots are locked if the revert on unclaim feature is active in the world. Plot's get locked while the server takes the snapshot it uses when it reverts. It shouldn't be locked for more than a few minutes, but your server maybe got hung up on a couple things? Try turning off the server, then removing the snapshot-queue file/folder in towny\data\

    I am having the same issue, my permissions file is the same as it was in 1.1, I can set the permissions for the wilds seperately or with towny.wild.* and still no go.

    I made sure I had the latest GroupManager.

    Just in case I cleared my towny directory and let it remake all the files also.
