    MineQuest started out as a plugin to add some RPG-like progression to Minecraft. It had 8 (By default, now completely customizable) character classes (4 Combat, 4 Resource - also by default) and you gained experience by doing tasks related to the class (e.g. Warriors fight with a Sword, or WarMages cast WarMage Spells). All combat classes gained health when they went up in levels, and all classes gained related abilities at certain levels.

    An example of a custom class configuration is now available:

    Now MineQuest has grown to be a much bigger project than gaining abilities and extra health. It includes mobs that get harder over time based on a level adjustment (determined by active players in the server). It has built in economy(iConomy Supported)/town systems that are available if people so desire. Most likely the coolest thing so far is the quest system.

    Good Places to start in game are /minequest, /cubonomy (economy), and /quest (questing specific). Also poking around the help pages (Linked as more information below) gives some details about more advanced commands as well.

    MineQuest is equipped with a system that is being developed so that minecraft can have real instanced dungeons where a select party can teleport into a world that has traps, harder monsters, and special loot. When complete players are brought back to their original locations.

    These quests are completely customizable as they only load from a text file. MineQuest will search the bukkit directory for the appropriate .quest file when the quest is started. This means that anyone running a server could write a quest. Not just plugin developers!

    The spell system is nothing special, and I'm sure that others exist out there, but what really makes MineQuest unique is the complete package, dungeons and everything.

    engh.. not a deal with your understanding of java :D These are just the commands for MineQuest and Cubonomy. I know absolutely nothing about java and leave that up to jmonk lol :p

    The only thing that you really should learn is mySQL, unless you use phpmyadmin or SQLlite.

    I keep with MySql. super easy to use if u use HeidiSql ^^ then u dont need that Command Promp shit + mutch easyer to edit content. [​IMG]

    Oh ye Jmonk can u see if u can put a map thngy in noting special like automake a map but just some thing simple like Photoshop or paint a picture and just load it up so when u press the M-key it showsup? maby put a little dynamic arrow thing that shows where u are.

    wigumen: This unfortunately requires a modification to your minecraft.jar file. There is a mod out there that does this, Zan's MiniMap, but you take on the risk of messing up your minecraft.jar and having to redownload it.

    jmonk: Perhaps I should be doing my videos without the mods I have installed 0.0... Perhaps it might cause confusion that MQ actually has this feature.

    I've been saying soon for a while now so I'm going to avoid saying that again. What I will say is that it will be done by the end of the month (I'm going to try to do a release adding features each month, then bug fixes between). We have finished all the major features I want to add and now I'm trying to fix up most of the bugs before I release it. iConomy will be supported, as well as lots of other nice things. I could see it conceivably being done this weekend, but I can't promise that.

    I have an RPG server, and I had to install many plugins because I have yet to find one plugin with all the features I need. I have many ideas, but here is one. Right now I have a plugin called Vanish, which allows the player to turn invisible. Only certain classes even have access to this.

    What would be really cool is if there was a diceroller added to abilities such as vanash. Then, the player would type /Roll Vanish, then the player would get one or two outcomes that are broadcast on the server.

    Phealoon rolled a 5 and FAILED to disapear.
    Phealoon rolled a 18 and Successfully vanished! (Then the player would vanish for a set time depending on the players level. A level 8 player will stay invisible longer then a level 2 etc.

    Ye, it whud been cool but remember minequest are VERY configabl if you are good at java or know someone that is you can make that feture yourself. if u don't your screwed. Jmonk can includ that feture but won't come before next, next patch because 0.40 are right around the corner ^^

    Do you have your sql database set up properly? The only time it couldn't find mine is when the database got foul'd up but it didn't throw that other error... do you have another plugin that changes how players move or interacts with how they move?

    This problem have happend to me to but only after i have went into my Sql database and changed level on a player. Whit a player i mean me >:D

    And I have tried with mysql=false, same errors.

    My questers table is empty, so I wonder why it's not populating the users into it...

    krnel: I see nothing in your plug-in list that should be causing this. Oh wait, you are running bukkit-714 right? Hummm.. this could be yet another issue with the 1.5-fiasco. If it is a conflict with the plug-ins I would suspect MinecartMania, MultiVerse, and WormholeXtreme. I use Wormhole and I am not getting the errors so I can discount that one.

    My suggestion would be to remove those two plug-ins temporarily and restarting to see if that does indeed cause your questor table to populate. The only other thing I can think of is to blast out your minequest database and then create a blank one. You could just erase all of the tables. Then let MQ rebuild all of the tables.

    Other than that I personally am out of thoughts atm.

    Sorry about the delay. I have been trying and trying to fix things since the last minecraft update. First I thought everything would be fine because bukkit wasn't updating to 1.5, then the new build came out, and it completely broke the NPC library I was using. I am switching to someone else's and trying frantically to get things I had working to work again. As I promised I still plan on releasing by the end of the month, but right now there is no new news as I am just trying to fix what was working and now is not.

    nevermind about mySQL thats not working so when i set it to false in the properties file. Then i run it and its all good except for a few errors about not a quester for that player or something (which fixed itself), But then when my brother logs on (LAN)(online-mod=false in server properties) IT all BRAKES and i get a ton of errors like "could not pass event PLAYER_MOVE" and "cannot find quester" So, what am i doing wrong here?

    I'm not sure exactly what will happen with this plugin in offline mode for sure. It expects everyones name to be unique. In offline mode it has no way to tell between different players. If you are using some other plugin to set your names then it is probably not creating the quester properly without the login event. Are you using other plugins that do things such as change your names?

    I am eagerly awaiting the release of 0.4 that will give me the customization I need to run this RPG. This RPG plugin is the only one I'm interested in, really. The rest are sooooo grindy and I would never want to turn this game into another grind fest MMO...
