    Introduction to Heroes
    Heroes is a dynamic, flexible and highly configurable class, skill and experience system. Heroes itself is the hub of your players RPG experience, boasting classes, multi-tiered and fully fleshed out. Along with classes, Heroes offers your players a new style of PvP through our well-developed skill system and our weapon + armor restrictions. No longer will your mages have the ability to use diamond swords, your rogues will no longer sneak around in their heavy diamond tunics and most importantly, you can now hurl fireballs and stun your targets. The best part of this? It's your choice how your Heroes is set up, don't want a certain skill, that's fine, you can just remove the skill and be done with it! We're working towards making everything about Heroes configurable.

    What can I do with it?
    With Heroes, you can do almost anything you'd want to do on an RPG server. The main feature is our customizable tiered class system, which offers as much to the server owner as possible. Your Heroes could be totally unique to your server, it could be the reason players play your server over a server with Heroes but a different set up. The same can be said about our skill system, it's unique to any of the other RPG plugins out there. Other plugins dub "Skills" as methods which you level up, this isn't the case with Heroes. Skills are things you can do which are unique to your class. Some of our favorite skills are Fireball, Jump and Port. This is what makes Heroes unique.

    What will you help me with?
    We'll help you with errors. That is where it ends. We will not be supporting your issues with your configuration files unless it's a bug within our code. Heroes is a big plugin and it's taken a few months to develop, we don't want to spend the next few months supporting silly issues rather than developing new and awesome features. Posting in this thread with an issue regarding a YML file will get you ignored. We'll be OK with helping you understand the configuration files, but we will not be fixing them for you.

    Where can I download it?
    You can download the latest recommended build here. You can download only the primary Heroes jar or the primary jar along with all the skills provided in a ZIP archive. Each skill inside the ZIP is enclosed in it's own jar, meaning you can pick and choose what skills you want your server to run. This is so you don't have un-necessary weight on your server.

      • Example: herosneak.sneak can be granted to a "Rogue" class at level 10 - so when they reach level 10 - they can now use the ability /sneak
    • Binding Skills
      • Ability to '/bind <skillname>' to an item to right click and use that skill
      • Use '/bind' again to clear the bind and remove the right click ability
      • Currently only works for Permitted-Skills

      • Armor & Weapon restrictions based on level and class
      • Configurable in classes.yml [DIAMOND]

      • /level - to show information about the level - comes with a nice interface to show you how much left to obtain the next level.
      • Set a mastery level - once achieved the user may switch to different classes and have their level/skills saved on the mastered class.
      • Configurable curves of exp to make lower levels easier and higher levels harder to get through
      • Optional Health gain per level
      • Configurable loss of exp (0.10 = 10% per death) by current level

    I want to go through and make multiple ranks of each spell. Basically just re-name one spell 2-3 times and change the damage output (Eg. Smite). How would be the best way I could do this?

    No, nothing is hidden. Everything is out in the open. We helped you, many times. I answered all of your questions. It doesn't lag and it isn't bugged. We don't provide tutorials, the set up is a tiny bit complex, but if you actually tried to do it yourself you'd be able to get it.

    Yes, superperms please. Ever since 1060 Permissions 3.x has been acting up. I guess the craftbukkit team is really pushing superperms?

    I'm going to try and convert to it over the weekend. Gotta read up on it though, have no idea how to.

    Hey guys,
    when the plugin came out, I was one of the first asking for multi world toggling and u put it on to the todo-list. Thank u a lot for that. Any idea on how long u will need to put it in or how much will com first ? I understand that u want to fix bugs and add more important stuff first, but we would really like to activate the plugin on one of our worlds. So just in case, u have got to do too much, which might be possible :), I would like to ask u if u accept another person implementing the multi world toggling and if u put the result into heroes if its good? Cuz if so, i would think about coding those certain lines myslef, as it is not very difucult but rather a lot of writing :).

    Are there different permissions than mentioned on the OP? My guys can pick their classes etc, but can't use /hero leaderboard.
    Is it possible to disable xp gains on certain worlds? We've got a creative world with auto break, and so xp is very broken there :)

    Leaderboard is still in the works, its on hold at the moment - Autobreak isnt supported nor know what that is - you can turn off exp gain for blocks
    Multi-world will be smoothed but we've decided to hold off on actually allowing a toggle per world.
    PErms 3.x is working fine and as intended - SuperPerms will be added in in the next RB or two.
    sounds like a Perms issue - I havent had this issue.
    Look at the default configs.

    is the syntax not the same for projectile damage overrides? Because I used projectile-damage: Snowball: X and got invalid projectile damage setting messages in console.

    Also, sidebar: does anyone know if blink still ignores glass? Or if the wolf/summon skills are worthwhile yet? Last we had tried them, they were not very viable for pvp.

    I am trying to make some classes, but i cant get the skills to work, when i go ingame and pull up the /skills menu when im a journeyman or apprentice it says page 1 of 0 and has no skills listed. Can someone tell me whats wrong?

    It would be a huge benefit to us being able to turn heroes xp off on certain worlds. I've mentioned to Kainzo that I'd be willing to donate as well for this addition.

    Sorry to ask this question as I think someone did allready (I just cant find it)

    Can someone give an example of the time I would put for a 1 min cooldown? Or even just one second, I can figure the rest.

    Each cooldown second is equal to 1000. SO if you want a 1 minute cooldown, you put 60000.

    Its in milliseconds so 1000 would be 1 second (and 60000 is one minute)

    Is there a way to change the amount of health and damage all of the enemy types do? Likewise, can you change the amount of damage your each individual weapons do? For example, I would like to make all tools except Swords do minimal damage so I dont have people using them as weapons. Is it possible to do?

    I can't see the reason not to upgrade and support Superperms.
    Since everyone is changing to that currently, with Permissions 3.1.6 InActive, will someone then bother to have
    Permissions 3.1.6 installed for one single plugin?

    Alright so I checked around a bit and I can't figure out how to use revive. I tried to use /skill revive *player-name* and it didn't work (keeps saying "You are out of range" even when the player is in front of me).

    Just to be sure I have permissions 3.1.6, bukkit 1060, and spout 1.0.2 all of which are working fine (I think...).

    Anyways, any help would be appreciated.

    Will this ever support BukkitPermissions or have a option to turn off permissions in the config? If it's not going to support it I might as well have work without it. Gives all admin power to OP and normal nodes to players. Simple

    OK, this is a weird bug. I just upgraded to the latest version and when my players use bandage, it is supposed to have a 45 second cooldown and heal for 75 HP. When they use it, it only heals for 13 HP. Any clue what would cause that? Yes, I have changed the setting in the skills.yml file to 75.

    Are you aware that if the LightEffects skill is set to Heal, the player still takes a half heart of damage no matter what and they catch on fire. Also they will never heal to full so they are always half a heart short of full health. Also, this burns up their armor.

    Arrowstorm: random amount of arrows over time at random rate of fire
    Consume: removes item from inventory and gives mana
    Creeper: spawns 1 to 3 creepers up to 20 blocks away from you
    Detect: Detect a block at eye level within a certain range (diamond ore default)
    Fire: Summons a ring of fire around a block (includes animation)
    Firewall: Summons a row of fire perpendicular to you
    Glasssheild: creates a sphere of glass and air around you that moves (buggy if multiple people use at same time)
    Megabolt: instantly strikes all mobs within 30 blocks of you with lightning
    Pig: Summons 1 to 3 pigs up to 20 blocks away
    Skeleton: Summons 1 to 3 skeletons up to 20 blocks away
    Timebomb: creates a 3x3x2 pit with 1 to 4 armed tnt. Pit will regenerate after 20seconds
    Tree: creates a small tree (with animation) that disappears after 45seconds (puts back blocks it replaces)
    Trans[Block]: Transmutes target Sponge(can be changed in config) and all other sponges connected to it into another type
    Zombie: Summons 1 to 3 zombies up to 20 blocks away

    This isn't a heroes error

    @dyrnwyn - there was a bit of miscommunication - we'll have a 1.2.2 out that fixes the healing stuff. Sorry about that.

    I'm going to say this once.
    It will get added when we can add it in. because of how heroes handles Permissions it will take some refactoring to get it working. So please stop bothering us about it. I will slap anyone that continues to press the issue.
