    Introduction to Heroes
    Heroes is a dynamic, flexible and highly configurable class, skill and experience system. Heroes itself is the hub of your players RPG experience, boasting classes, multi-tiered and fully fleshed out. Along with classes, Heroes offers your players a new style of PvP through our well-developed skill system and our weapon + armor restrictions. No longer will your mages have the ability to use diamond swords, your rogues will no longer sneak around in their heavy diamond tunics and most importantly, you can now hurl fireballs and stun your targets. The best part of this? It's your choice how your Heroes is set up, don't want a certain skill, that's fine, you can just remove the skill and be done with it! We're working towards making everything about Heroes configurable.

    What can I do with it?
    With Heroes, you can do almost anything you'd want to do on an RPG server. The main feature is our customizable tiered class system, which offers as much to the server owner as possible. Your Heroes could be totally unique to your server, it could be the reason players play your server over a server with Heroes but a different set up. The same can be said about our skill system, it's unique to any of the other RPG plugins out there. Other plugins dub "Skills" as methods which you level up, this isn't the case with Heroes. Skills are things you can do which are unique to your class. Some of our favorite skills are Fireball, Jump and Port. This is what makes Heroes unique.

    What will you help me with?
    We'll help you with errors. That is where it ends. We will not be supporting your issues with your configuration files unless it's a bug within our code. Heroes is a big plugin and it's taken a few months to develop, we don't want to spend the next few months supporting silly issues rather than developing new and awesome features. Posting in this thread with an issue regarding a YML file will get you ignored. We'll be OK with helping you understand the configuration files, but we will not be fixing them for you.

    Where can I download it?
    You can download the latest recommended build here. You can download only the primary Heroes jar or the primary jar along with all the skills provided in a ZIP archive. Each skill inside the ZIP is enclosed in it's own jar, meaning you can pick and choose what skills you want your server to run. This is so you don't have un-necessary weight on your server.

      • Does not use the /skill prefix - Permission skills copy the original command exactly.
      • Also works with non-command required Permission nodes (ie. Firelord for special armor abilities for certain classes)
      • Example: herosneak.sneak can be granted to a "Rogue" class at level 10 - so when they reach level 10 - they can now use the ability /sneak
    • Binding Skills
      • Ability to '/bind <skillname>' to an item to right click and use that skill
      • Use '/bind' again to clear the bind and remove the right click ability
      • Currently only works for Permitted-Skills
    • Inventory Restriction
      • Armor & Weapon restrictions based on level and class
      • Configurable in classes.yml [DIAMOND]
    • Levels
      • /level - to show information about the level - comes with a nice interface to show you how much left to obtain the next level.
      • Set a mastery level - once achieved the user may switch to different classes and have their level/skills saved on the mastered class.
      • Configurable curves of exp to make lower levels easier and higher levels harder to get through
      • Optional Health gain per level
      • Configurable loss of exp (0.10 = 10% per death) by current level

      • SKILL - exp for using a skill
      • CRAFTING - exp for crafting an item
      • MINING - exp for mining blocks
      • KILLING - exp for slaying mobs

    This can be done by giving all the skills to your classes at level 1 and not having any ways to gain xp.

    Im getting a random odd spam in my console after installing this. It just messes up:( Updating to 1060# to see what happens. :S

    EDIT: Nope, still get that spam: Could not pass event CUSTOM_EVENT to heroes :S And it just fills the console :S Help?

    I'm having problems with the health in the mod. For some reason in-game vanilla damage is ignoring the health from Heroes mod and vice-versa. Anyone have any ideas whats wrong?

    I don't under stand how the parent thing works, im trying to make a pair of classes that are like more specialized versions of another class, so you hit a certain lvl then can choose to stay that class or take one of the two new "specializing" classes, but i don't get how the parent class thing works.

    Are there different permissions than mentioned on the OP? My guys can pick their classes etc, but can't use /hero leaderboard.
    We use mcmmo only for the gathering skills. Party iscompletely disabled through mcmmo, is it possible to use the party system of Heroes?
    Is it possible to disable xp gains on certain worlds? We've got a creative world with auto break, and so xp is very broken there :)

    Disregard the previous questions. Although im a bit unhappy that I got no respondse to my questions at all while some really idiotic questions like set up heroes for me im lazy did got (although negative) respondse, we got it fixed. Thanks to my fellow serveradmin Professor_Denim (who you might have seen pop up on IRC) we managed to fix blaze and pulse and even add some more spells. So thanks for helping him out on IRC so we could fix this.

    I can imagine all the stupid questions may be irritating. But instead of ignoring some serious questions just ignore the idiots in the future.

    To the devs: I know you guys only use permissions 3.1, but your latest recommended build requires CB 1060. That being said, may I direct your attention to:

    The readers digest version is admins can't use the /whitelist command, and some other commands now in some cases, w/o having bukkit's permissions set up. It's clear to anybody that bukkit is poised to force their permissions systems upon anyone and everyone they can, damn the torpedoes.

    The last time I suggested that heroes support bukkit permissions, I was essentially told to "code it yourself". The Superpermbridge that is supposed to "fake" permissions 3.x fails miserably, and w/ no support on this end regardless of others request for bukkit permissions support, I took matters into my own hands.

    This is a quick and dirty hack. You must have bukkit permissions set up, and then use this bridge, and heroes should work. There are still errors. I am not a java programmer, I just did my best, I make no claims at support for this.

    So please... PLEASE... bukkit is ramming their permissions down our throats. Will you now move it up in priority?

    You can setup the necessary permissions without running any other plugins. use bukkit.yml (At least that's what I've been told)

    Are you guys using any mods that alter damage? and when you say 'vanilla' damage is being ignored, what types of damage are you referring to?

    Ok i solve my problem updating permissions to 3. And I have to thank you for this AWESOME plugin :)!
    Now, if you could please add this feature in the next update:
    *The posibility to gain mana points per level, increasing the max. mana.

    That would require a complete re-write on how mana is handled. I'll talk around with the other developers, but at the moment mana is % based. and all spells are cast at a % cost of your current mana.

    Is it possible to put a level-based permission on armor and weapons whitout using a new class (parent)?
    looking for some thing like the permissions-skills, but for using tools, weapons and armor :)

    Nope - weapon/armor restrictions are just the class has it or it doesn't.

    @t_one21 - No it doesn't and please don't tell people it does. - If you wouldn't mind editing your post so people aren't confused that would be great, thank you.

    Okey... "/ kind of a loss, would be nice to be able as a warrior for example at level 10 be able to use gold, then at 25 be able to use iron.
    Feels kind of annoying that I need to make a new class for each "upgrade" then.

    First thing I miss in this plugin ;)

    I'd suggest going onto our Issue tracker in the main post where it says Report Issues 'Here' in giant red/black letters. Post a New Feature request on there asking for Weapons/Armor to be defined like skills (gained at levels) - it's a good request :)

    The majority of messages in the game already support multi-language - you just need to set their use-text and any extra text-message settings they have.

    The menu system would take a lot of reworking to support alternate languages.

    Is it possible to remove those annoying messages that display every time you use a skill? I tried leaving blank spaces in the skills.yml file but nothing happens. Please help, thanks ;)

    How do i exactly use the light and dark effects? They have different uses I know, but to separately use those features is what confuses me. Can I get an explanation?

    Add the readme and the SkillLightEffects to the skill folder. Then on the class you want add this
                    level: 1
    Then config the readme
