    Introduction to Heroes
    Heroes is a dynamic, flexible and highly configurable class, skill and experience system. Heroes itself is the hub of your players RPG experience, boasting classes, multi-tiered and fully fleshed out. Along with classes, Heroes offers your players a new style of PvP through our well-developed skill system and our weapon + armor restrictions. No longer will your mages have the ability to use diamond swords, your rogues will no longer sneak around in their heavy diamond tunics and most importantly, you can now hurl fireballs and stun your targets. The best part of this? It's your choice how your Heroes is set up, don't want a certain skill, that's fine, you can just remove the skill and be done with it! We're working towards making everything about Heroes configurable.

    What can I do with it?
    With Heroes, you can do almost anything you'd want to do on an RPG server. The main feature is our customizable tiered class system, which offers as much to the server owner as possible. Your Heroes could be totally unique to your server, it could be the reason players play your server over a server with Heroes but a different set up. The same can be said about our skill system, it's unique to any of the other RPG plugins out there. Other plugins dub "Skills" as methods which you level up, this isn't the case with Heroes. Skills are things you can do which are unique to your class. Some of our favorite skills are Fireball, Jump and Port. This is what makes Heroes unique.

    What will you help me with?
    We'll help you with errors. That is where it ends. We will not be supporting your issues with your configuration files unless it's a bug within our code. Heroes is a big plugin and it's taken a few months to develop, we don't want to spend the next few months supporting silly issues rather than developing new and awesome features. Posting in this thread with an issue regarding a YML file will get you ignored. We'll be OK with helping you understand the configuration files, but we will not be fixing them for you.

    Where can I download it?
    You can download the latest recommended build here. You can download only the primary Heroes jar or the primary jar along with all the skills provided in a ZIP archive. Each skill inside the ZIP is enclosed in it's own jar, meaning you can pick and choose what skills you want your server to run. This is so you don't have un-necessary weight on your server.

      • Based on the permission-node system, ability to set the level required to learn certain permission-nodes to have a highly configurable system.
      • Does not use the /skill prefix - Permission skills copy the original command exactly.
      • Also works with non-command required Permission nodes (ie. Firelord for special armor abilities for certain classes)
      • Example: herosneak.sneak can be granted to a "Rogue" class at level 10 - so when they reach level 10 - they can now use the ability /sneak
    • Binding Skills
      • Ability to '/bind <skillname>' to an item to right click and use that skill
      • Use '/bind' again to clear the bind and remove the right click ability
      • Currently only works for Permitted-Skills
    • Inventory Restriction
      • Armor & Weapon restrictions based on level and class
      • Configurable in classes.yml [DIAMOND]
    • Levels
      • /level - to show information about the level - comes with a nice interface to show you how much left to obtain the next level.
      • Set a mastery level - once achieved the user may switch to different classes and have their level/skills saved on the mastered class.
      • Configurable curves of exp to make lower levels easier and higher levels harder to get through
      • Optional Health gain per level
      • Configurable loss of exp (0.10 = 10% per death) by current level

      • SKILL - exp for using a skill
      • CRAFTING - exp for crafting an item
      • MINING - exp for mining blocks
      • KILLING - exp for slaying mobs
      • LOGGING - exp for jacking lumber

      • Allow bed healing for players to regenerate health in bed!

    Backstab - Extra damage when attacking from behind
    Bandage - Bandages the target + Cures Bleeds

    Battery - Gives your target mana

    @Kainzo Could you make this "/hat" friendly. Such as being able to have blocks on your head. Because I dont want to add every block id to the list of armor to be worn for every class. Like for example I do, /hat with a cactus in my hand and it goes on for a sec then it says "you are not trained to use cactus"

    What is the proper way to enter the Door item to the classes file? I've tried all possibilities to allow a class to wear a door for the shield skill. Iron-door, IRON, IRONDOOR,Iron_door, etc. None of them seem to work.

    And also is the summon skill broken at the moment?

    hey... i have big problems with loading my skills because it says it cannot find them and the skills folder and the skills.yml are empty.
    What shall i do???

    When trying to use skills, I'm given an internal error. It was working perfectly before editing the classes file.
    That's my classes file. I don't see anything wrong with it, but if I could get any help it'd be greatly appreciated.

    Could you explain the class swap system, the config.yml doesn't seem to be working when specifying a money amount to swap classes.

    Is your system allowed for parent classes to swap free, because it is not charging, and players are able to swap back and forth between parent classes indefinitely.

    This is allowing for Merchant class to make chest shops, then swap to another parent class and continue adventuring.

    On the right hand side of that webpage will tell you the appoximate location of the line that is causing your code to return erros in this case:
    while scanning a simple key
      in "<unicode string>", line 263, column 1:

    looks like there are incorrect spacing.

    I've fixed that and it's not stating any errors, just simply giving me the output. So I assume there isn't a problem anymore. but I've overwritten the file on my server with the fixed one and an internal error is still occurring.

    I would go through and check all your .YMLs. I had the same issue and disabled every singel plugin on my server and reactivated them one at a time to find the culprit. It ended up being a spacing error in my permissions .ymls.

    Its a pain in the butt, but go through and check every single yml that you have on your server.

    Plugin looks awesome, and I'm going to use it on my server, but a lot of these spells are pretty glitchy. For instance, when using one, you can't jump or move backwards. And with summon, even when you do /skill summon skeleton or slime or whatever, nothing happens.

    Thanks for the help. I got it working, but it wasn't related to this.
    I changed a spell around for the Rogue and it ended up working all of a sudden. Weird that that would cause an internal error.

    What issues were you having with that an mcMMO? I just had to take Hero's offline because of an error it was spewing in the console something about "unable to pass event". My players want to keep mcMMO but have interest in running Hero's. Im at a loss here :(

    We have zero want to test or work with mcMmo. Two very different plugins here.

    that is by design, Jump is suppose to push the user foward, we may bring out one that is suppose to push you just upwards, but that is yet to be seen.
    Summon is getting a rework.

    Ah well that explains summon then. But I meant when using the skill one, the speedup skill, you cannot jump or move backwards. Not when using the jump skill haha.

    You said redownload, so I figured you meant to delete all of my hero files... Anyways, I just deleted them all and put on a new download of heroes and the skill one still does not allow me to jump while it is activated.
