    Introduction to Heroes
    Heroes is a dynamic, flexible and highly configurable class, skill and experience system. Heroes itself is the hub of your players RPG experience, boasting classes, multi-tiered and fully fleshed out. Along with classes, Heroes offers your players a new style of PvP through our well-developed skill system and our weapon + armor restrictions. No longer will your mages have the ability to use diamond swords, your rogues will no longer sneak around in their heavy diamond tunics and most importantly, you can now hurl fireballs and stun your targets. The best part of this? It's your choice how your Heroes is set up, don't want a certain skill, that's fine, you can just remove the skill and be done with it! We're working towards making everything about Heroes configurable.

    What can I do with it?
    With Heroes, you can do almost anything you'd want to do on an RPG server. The main feature is our customizable tiered class system, which offers as much to the server owner as possible. Your Heroes could be totally unique to your server, it could be the reason players play your server over a server with Heroes but a different set up. The same can be said about our skill system, it's unique to any of the other RPG plugins out there. Other plugins dub "Skills" as methods which you level up, this isn't the case with Heroes. Skills are things you can do which are unique to your class. Some of our favorite skills are Fireball, Jump and Port. This is what makes Heroes unique.

    What will you help me with?
    We'll help you with errors. That is where it ends. We will not be supporting your issues with your configuration files unless it's a bug within our code. Heroes is a big plugin and it's taken a few months to develop, we don't want to spend the next few months supporting silly issues rather than developing new and awesome features. Posting in this thread with an issue regarding a YML file will get you ignored. We'll be OK with helping you understand the configuration files, but we will not be fixing them for you.

    Where can I download it?
    You can download the latest recommended build here. You can download only the primary Heroes jar or the primary jar along with all the skills provided in a ZIP archive. Each skill inside the ZIP is enclosed in it's own jar, meaning you can pick and choose what skills you want your server to run. This is so you don't have un-necessary weight on your server.

      • Example: herosneak.sneak can be granted to a "Rogue" class at level 10 - so when they reach level 10 - they can now use the ability /sneak

      • Ability to '/bind <skillname>' to an item to right click and use that skill
      • Use '/bind' again to clear the bind and remove the right click ability
      • Currently only works for Permitted-Skills

      • Armor & Weapon restrictions based on level and class

      • /level - to show information about the level - comes with a nice interface to show you how much left to obtain the next level.
      • Set a mastery level - once achieved the user may switch to different classes and have their level/skills saved on the mastered class.
      • Configurable curves of exp to make lower levels easier and higher levels harder to get through
      • Optional Health gain per level
      • Configurable loss of exp (0.10 = 10% per death) by current level

    Towny issue - no clue, Towny isnt supported - for all intense and purpose I thought it died with Hmod.

    Oh yeah, I also removed towny because I thought it might cause problems because it often conflicts with plugins.

    Are you using towny advanced, or fuzze edition or the original which is inactive

    Maybe add ability to have more than 1 class? That would be awesome for my server, i need combinations of combat and economic classes, like Warrior/Miner, or Rogue/Farmer. And Craftbox as weapon, i need craftsman class, but currently it's impossible. Tell me if i'm wrong :).

    Im just wondering that if i have a permission skill (like the repairing skills for the smith and the chestshop) do i put it in the permission-skills and the group permission config because now that i have permissions working i have my smiths able to repair things (right format and everthing) but idk if i have to put the same permission in the group.yml for permissions becasue then any member would be able to use the command or ability.

    No, Towny has a huge presence. Most servers still live and die by it. A better self service prot plugin there is not (lest you build one yourself). I know you guys use your townships, but the little people have other plugins to serve these purposes ;)

    @thehutch everything is fine, just means you have not made any class specific changes to damage. which you don't have to do if you don't want to. One reason why you would, a sword in a crafters hand has the same power as a warrior. If you increase the warriors value however you can give them an advantage.

    @Truecorruptor Do not add it to your permissions file. Add it as an ability. when the person meets the level requirement Heroes will allow that permission for that person.

    @Zoaen What version of towny are you using and what skill are you trying to use? Are you trying to use the skill in a town or in the wild?

    @Zoaen So yea, I assume you are talking about the parent and child relationship? if you pm me I can provide a max of 15 min of help or so.

    My recommendation would be to wait about a month before using this plugin or recruiting help from someone on your server. Parent child is one of the most basic concepts of this plugin and if it is causing you issues it will be rough going for a while. After a month or so people might have more time to help out and a wiki will probably be up.

    I know how about the parent and child thing it is just about the mastery level how do i set it? if it is in the config file that says max lvl: then does it reset when you change class?

    and if you know how do I set item and projectile damage sections?

    ahh, kk, sorry. yes max level refers to when you can change and yes xp resets to 0, unless you change the
        resetExpOnClassChange: true
    part of the config.

    Projectile damage is not set-up yet to my knowledge so ignore it for now.

    hi again to any of the HC Team how do we stop players chooseing Defualt Class every time they want to change classes?
    player chooses say warrior class then wants to be say mage class they do the following
    choose warrior
    get boared and arent bothered about exp reset
    choose Defualt class
    then choose Mage class and carry on playing.
    and ofcourse there is no heroes.classes.<defualtclass> permmission ethier.
    example :
    defualt class: Thedammed - no heroes.classes defualt permmison as its set by the plugin
    warrior - heroes.classes.warrior
    madge - heroes.classes.madge

    there is a bug i think which is "heroes.classes" nodes cannot be used as permission skills !

    There isnt any way but to make it so that there is groups for example

    Default has heroes.class.* when they turn into a mage they turn into mage groups which doesnt have heroes.class.*
    you may be able to do this automaticlly using the plugin magicword

    so maybe when they say /hero choose mage they turn into a mage and automaticlly go to the mage groups
    just a hunch but it is possible it might work go try it out

    i thought about that to but there is no way to do it all by the player and i don't want and mod/admin interfering in this thing !
    what magicword will do is tell admin or mod to do the thing ..
    it won't do it itself !
    other idea i've thought of :
    in my server i use iconomy but there is the essentials eco which is totally not used !
    so i set the starting money as 1 and set it balance of all existing players as 1 ..
    and than i planned on using one of these pay for command plugins so they have to pay 1$ using essentials eco not iconomy and there is no way for them to get essentials money to do the command again, they only are able to get iCononmy money !
    but unfortunately, there is none of these plugins support essentials eco !
    all of them use Iconomy :(
    however this thing might work as a temporarily solution until the herocraft team fixes the bug .
    so i'll check out the rest of pay for commands/permissions plugins and i'll report if i found one !

    @lllareat PermiConomy is i plugin that charges money for commands !
    however, it have this nice little future to limit the usage of command use times !
    does that work for you ?
    because it certainly works for me :p
    it turned out that i don't have to charge them using essentials eco ..
    limiting the time usage of "/hero choose" may be the best temporarily solution for me .
    i'll try that when i come back in 5 minuts :eek:

    I see no bug. If you want to request a feature,

    do so properly, or it'll be removed and ignored too, we don't want "time command please", we want a full write up on the feature.
