[REQ] Working Chairs / Sitting

So, this is a pretty simple idea. When you right click with a certain item, you sit down where you are, as if you where in a boat or a minecart. MobRider does something like this, except you sit on mobs, not blocks. Cookies for whoever can make this.

 

A very good idea. Needs to be looked at by someone. Maybe we can have a simple /sit command, this might be even easier.

 

Had you thought about the benefits for sitting?
I thought about 'lunch'. When you eat food when sitting, it will give you full HP.

 

Why on earth do you need to sit? xD
I don't even think the minecraft "Character" is capable of sitting.

 

the animation when the minecraft character rides anything would easily work for sitting.

I guess it could be useful for videos and stuff.

 

The only thing left now is to keep this thread high, so we can get a reply from modders, if it is even doable now.

 

Im really hoping this gets made. I know its entirely possible.

hmm i think this would be way too hard, the commands would be easy but the postion? this would i belive (not 100% sure) a client mod, BECAUSE the postion the pic of you sitting would be needed in the client, so each person would need it to use this command and i think it would crash the server if someone did not have it or atleast crash their own client.

 

But why?

It would be really nice if someone could do it. Just think about it, the first plugin like this, will instantly be on all servers there is, especially on PR servers.

Edit: It is possible but very difficult, as stairs (I'm guessing thats what people will use) aren't entities so you can't just get "mounted" to one. So I'm making it so you put a painting behind the stairs and you get mounted to that. Might be a bit off, but oh well.

Done it. The main thing different is you don't right click with a tool to sit on something, you have to "make" a seat then sit on it. What you suggested with the tool is impossible sadly.

Great! But I'm pretty sure it is, or was, possible with the tool. I've done it before with MobRider, because it was all buggy at one point. But, still, great job! Cookie for you!

 

It isn't. You're riding mobs, entities, there. Blocks are blocks, not entities.

 

Is it possible to make it a sign instead of a painting. No offense but I think the painiting looks bad.
