So, I have had this problem for a long time and still can't get it fixed. My public ip with the port will not work in logging into the server. I have no errors about this in the console, I check my portfowarding very often with checking my ips, and type the ip correctly. You might say all those regular things to check but I always do them. I can still log in the server myself, just with my ipv4/lan address. But this means other people cannot join. Any help would be very appreciated.
Sometimes you need to delete the IP in the server.properties file and let it reset itself after the ip changes and you mix and match your port forwarding for the new lan ip. Cause sometimes just changing that server.properties ip to your lan ip is not enough (and sometimes, not changing it and keeping an old ip value will have no impact on lan joins, but will on external ip joins...)
