Protocol Error

I tried to join my 1.7.5 server with (192.99.36.49:25575) and the motd was Can't connect to server and when I tried to join it said Internal Exception: java.io.IOExeption: An existing connection was forcefully closed by the remote host. My console says:

It's worked before for a long time.
This started happening after a crash after two friends I haven't seen in a while crashed the server.

 

Due to the server crash, I think that the file players.yml might have gotten corrupt?

Try to do a manual check of the file, starting with the inspection of goodpoopie.

Otherwise delete the file and start from scratch ...

 

Also make sure that your Minecraft client's profile version is the same as your server version. Sometimes it defaults to "use newest version" and updates your game version without you realizing it, and then you can't join servers that are using an older version. Just something to check.
