Plugin Help PermissionsEx Prefixes not working

Prefixes don't work for me and I have essentials chat installed it works in chat if I say &5Test or something like that I really need help

Please post a list of your plugins.
If you have factions, go into mstore > factions_mconf > instance and change the chat prefix there.

Please post your full server log, as well as your PEX permissions.yml.

For future reference, factions doesn't edit PermissionsEx prefixes, unless the user changed it to, but default, factions does nothing to prefixes except add its own.

You didn't set a prefix for a group. Here is a fantastic beginners guide for Pex.

I also know how to use group manager (I've been using it for almost a year) but it didn't work whenever I tried /manuadd nothing showed up that's why I'm using pex

What is the plugin doing the "[civsim]" I assume its Multiverse? If its another plugin that adds prefixes, make sure that isn't overriding PEX's prefix. Also make sure you don't have a user prefix set, as this will override your group prefix.

You set the rank in world: '&f'

 

In essentials chat change something like:

add-prefixes-suffixes: false
to
add-prefixes-suffixes: true

Worked when I tried it!

 

Where can I edit essentials chat? In mcprohosting the only essentials stuff I can mess with is essentials essentialsGeoIP EssentialsXMPP. The rank in world &f what does that mean?

In the Essentials config. Scroll down until you find it.

Set it to "world" or whatever your world is named.

Try downgrading/updating PEX.

 

Problem was solved due to outdated essentials thanks everyone
