   Could someone compile this plugin from github and provide the .jar file? I've tried and tried with no success

   You can download the source in a zip (on the right at the bottom of the screen) and copy the files needed for the plugin into a folder, and then add the files to a new jar. Or import the source into a new project in youre java editor and export it.
