Minecraft Essentials Server Signs help

Hi everyone,
Im in the process of making a server and as the title says, I need help with the server signs.
The whole problem is I can go into the config of it and delete those "#". Ill restart my server then if I go and do the sign thing, for example, if I make a buy sign it will say something like "unknown item"
I've tried everything I know how but you people are a lot smarter than me when it comes to this.

jacks1820 Are you using a Mac computer? I remember there being an issue with some of the Essentials signs messing up for Mac users. If that's it, the fix is to upgrade your Essentials version to the most recent dev build.

 

Remember to just delete ONE space that the # takes.

Also, when you enable and disable signs in the config, a /essentials reload will work fine.

Also, hold the item you want to sell and type /itemdb.

This will give you more than one name for that item. You can also use the itemID (like 2 for grass)

Essential buy signs is tough to use.. when you want to use a lot of them.
Why not use dtlTraders or signshop?

you can use the plugin called: ServerSigns. I though you needed help with that because of your title ^^
