Minecraft/Bukkit 1.8/1.9 Questions

    So here's a quick question about this. I was trolling the web the other day, and came across a post that said something similar to this:

    "If you replace the level.dat file from your 1.7.3 map with the level.dat file from 1.8, all of the new 1.8-specific things will generate in your new chunks, like NPC-villages."

    I had heard that NPC-Villages wouldn't even generate on 1.7.3 maps; would doing the above solve that problem, (on newly generated chunks, of course?) Or was I told something false when I was given that information about new features not being in old maps? Just trying to sort out the wheat from the chaff here....

    9 Beta 6? The latest out right now is 1.9 prerelease 5.

    But anyway, I'm running pre 5 smoothly with Build #4.
