It was always annoying for me when I built very high buildings like a skyscraper or a high tower and the clouds always moving through it so you can't see very good. Finnaly I found a way to solve the problem with the very nice plugin Spout. So with this plugin you can (finally ) remove those nasty clouds with an easy command.

Without the SpoutLauncher a player won't be able to turn his/her clouds off!

Installation:

Show Spoiler Hide Spoiler

1. Download the jar file and place it in your plugin folder.
2.Download the Spout ServerPlugin here and place it in your plugin folder.
3. Then just restart, start or reload the server.
4. Enjoy

Commands:

• /cr on|off --- turns clouds on or off

For justice, I'd like to request an epic picture of a cloudless Minecraft sky in the OP

 

Anyway, a suggestion:
If you disable clouds, disconnect and reconnect, they're still disabled, cool, but, if you stop the server and reconnect, they're enabled again.
Maybe make it save your current cloud setting either local or serverside?

 

Personally, I use Zombe's Modpack (google it if interested) for simple, cosmetic changes like this. That way its player based instead of having the entire server devoid of clouds, if that pertains to any other users. Though, I would definitely recommend adding a cloud height option in addition to complete removal.

 

This plugin only disables it for the users that do /cr off.

OptiFine has this. Along with moving higher I think. Which is included with the newest spoutcraft client.
