Inactive [MECH] MagnetBlock v0.4.7 - Movable Structures controlled by Redstone [1060]

    Ok, yes, it does get complicated... ;) yes, temporarily removing blocks from structure would be a bit more natural too.... it would be like "looking" or 'thinking' of the structure as if it was made of water for example, and when water runs across/thru/over the rocks (these being the obstacles in its path), the water temporarily takes new shape, then after it passses the obstacles, comes back to original form...

    But as far as the DRILL structure, then you remove the original/existing blocks that stay in the DRILL's path, and not the blocks in the structure... basically when drilling we're changing the landscape, and not the drill... ;)

    Can you add plz /clearall to delete all magnetblocks and structure blocks.

    Also can you make distruction like in conrollblocks.

    And after server restart construction blocks stop being construction blocks :( and i have to make everething again

    Me again... had a question on "using bone to rotate" i've created some structures and hit them with bone, but none rotated; how and which way are they supposed to rotate? (stick and feather DO move the structure) Also, when moving the structure by powering up the magnet, what or how does the structure try to line up with the magnet? Does it try to line up the structure's FIRST BLOCK with the magnet block? or is it the CENTER of the structure? How is the center calculated (what if the structure is really non-simetrical)?? What i'm noticing is that the structure is not consistent in WHERE it ends up, where it stops, when i call it from the same exact magnet... i know this 3D movement is not easy task, but is there anything that can be done to ensure consistency? a set of rules that would always apply... another example: my struct is about 5 blocks wide by 20 blocks long... next to it on the floor, about half way down the structure i placed a magnet... everytime i power the magnet, ON, OFF, ON, OFF, ON, OFF with a button, for every press of the button the struct moves 1 block, then i press again, struct moves another block, ... i did it about 3 times and it moved 1 block at a time... so there is some incostintency in what needs to line up with what... if you need help on this let me know... i'll try to think of ways to stabilize it, or to create certain rules, cause a few factors are involved, like size of struct, position of magnet, position of struct, direction of movement...

    They don't rotate ATM, because I didn't finish my Matrix class to do advanced vector operations yet.

    dude somewhy only after i retart or reload the server it ectualy writes when im editing or making a structure.
    like about 5 mins later it doesnt writes a thing but it like brings me back to my place when i puted the block about 1 second after i put the block and it makes the server a bit laggy....
    somoene knows if its a bug or if its suppose to be like that?
    edit:and after i make a magnet most of the times it just move one block and then doesnt move at all

    Hi
    I have a problem...
    Im trying to make a structure to move like a platform over lava. It has to turn right at times and left at times...
    I made the 3x3 platform, made of iron blocks (i placed first iron block in middle) and when i connect it to a magnet that is straight across from the platform, and connect redstone to the magnet, it only moves about 1 block, then stops moving. I click the magnet again, doesnt move. I cant see any errors in console so i dont know what to do (i also tried with 1 iron block underneath, and the rest glass blocks... still same thing)

    Restarting or reloading the server helps.

    I just did both now... still doesnt work :( i even tried it like how it is in the video... still nothing...
    would me trying to do it NOT in the default world make it not work?
    if possible, could you come onto my server and show me why it isnt working or something?

    EDIT: i got it to move with one block fine...
    then i made 1 iron block underneath and 3x3 logs over it... it moved (in default world)
    tried same thing in secondary world... didnt work
    so it must not be multi-world compatible?

    ANOTHER EDIT: ok wtf now its NOT working in my default world.....
    something is definitely fishy here...

    So i'm running bukkit build 1185 and when you add a chest to the structure or a furnace and anything is in either it crashes clientside. I don't know the error because it disappears too fast for me to screenshot

    I have been using this plugin for a couple of weeks and its fantastic...
    I have a question, just a general one..
    You have probably heard of Flans Plane Mod on MinecraftForum.net... absolutely fantastic it is. And there is a specific elevator mod (cant remember the name of it)
    The beauty of these mods, are the fact that the blocks move smoothly... not block by block.
    Does spout have any way of being able to allow this? It would make this plugin extra special.

    I was trying to make a kind of elevator that would get me between two "stations" not on one horizontal/vertical line. I have added a stone button inside to launch it (and some RedstoneChips circuitry to activate one of two magnets). To my surprise, an elevator left a trail of dropped buttons after it, and a bunch of "Block has encountered AIR Type!" messages in log.

    So I've tested this out on the latest RB and it seems to work. Some suggestions, though:
    1) Have an option in the config for turning off all the messages in the server terminal.
    2) Have an option in the config for turning off all the "X block added to structure" messages in chat

    Seems to be a bit funky when you involve some redstone stuff, but overall a very nice plugin. Sure, moving players isn't nice and smooth, but it still works.

    @Andon: yes, the redstone stuff is funky :) Also, could you please check how post-1.8 stuff behave inside moving structure? It may need extra attention inside the code.

    I seem to have an issue with this addon as of Bukkit RB 1.0 - it seems that when the magnetic structures are used the server spits out a ton of errors stating:

    [SEVERE] Air block entity detected

    I don't really understand this and what is it actually doing? I do notice that structures seem to require more space to move. For example if I have a 4 x 4 x 1 Magnetic structure it will move. However the second i make the same structure or edit it to make it 4 x 4 x 2 or 3 etc. (Say an elevator) the structure will no longer move. I am wondering if the two are linked?

    HalestormXV: IIRC, "air block" problem happens when some block inside the elevator requires special care, but not given one. An example of a block requiring "special care" (and getting one) is lever: it needs to be removed before the block it is attached to, but added after this block. So, you're probably using pistons (these guys are very hard to handle, so I'd recommend not using them) or blocks that appeared in 1.8 or later. If you mention them here - I'll try to fix them.

    Alright I understand, however I haven't used pistons at all. But I did use ThinGlass (removed it since it didnt allow the elevator to move). I also used standard fenses (not nether) still didn't allow the elevator to move. Currently my elevator is build just of wooden planks. And it is 7 x 7 and it seems to work. If i go to edit the structure though and add say fenses to it to give it more design it stops moving. I guess because these are considred special blocks since the release of 1.0? But then again if I simply add anything to make the elevator taller even if it is just to make it a 7x7x2 with say glass on the rim of the structure it stops the structure from moving.

    Now when I say I removed blocks above I mean i literally deleted the whole structure with the delete command and rebuilt it. Hopefully that is helpful, however if you need a list of the blocks after 1.8 i do have it but I haven't used them in structures.
