    ItemCraft is a Bukkit mod that allows adding new item and block types, crafting and furnace recipes, and custom tree generators and more. Using a Modloader and SettingsGUI interface it allows subplugins known as ICPlugins to be loaded to support client mods. ICPlugins can be created by translating a client mod using the ICTranslator ICplugin. Using a ModloaderMP interface (ported by krnlyng/liar) it allows porting multiplayer mods to bukkit.

    Installation & Usage:
    • Back up your world(s). Just in case.
    • ItemCraft.jar goes in same folder as craftbukkit
    • IC plugins go into ItemCraft/ICPlugins folder under craftbukkit. (folder is autocreated the first time)
    • uncomment (remove #) in front of all plugins you want to use in plugins.ics (autocreated in ItemCraft/ICScript)
    • Make sure you have the recommended version of craftbukkit in the title - since this is a mod of that version in particular.
    • Delete/rename the META-INF folder inside craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar (Use some decent zip program (e.g. 7zip) that can do it.)
    • All players on the server needs to have the client mods installed
    • If you use the 16 bit entity id packet mod (in case you use new entites (only ICMCreatures need it)), All players need (flan's unofficial) ModLoaderMP client mod
    • All players also need the 16 bit entity id packet mod (overwrites a ModLoaderMP's class so make sure ModLoaderMP is installed first) in case you use new entites (only ICMCreatures need it) If decide not to use the packet mod, you can turn it off putting this in your startup file: false setEntityIDPacketMod
    • Sometimes you get block/item ID conflicts, between plugins. You then need to set the conflicting ids in the startup script using setID command: example. They have to be set before the plugin that uses them is loaded. Note also that there is typically a props file on the clientside you have to edit the ids on to be the same as well.

      Vote here not in this thread anymore (it gets lost in all the other stuff)

      Reporting errors:
      • Read known issues - don't report those.
      • State the version of CB, ItemCraft and ICPlugin(s) you have problems with
      • If your client crashes, start the client from command line so that you get the error report.
      • Make sure the mod(s) works in SSP First before you report any errors here.
      • You are more likely to get a response if you describe the problem in more detail and do some testing yourself first of under what circumstances it occurs
      • Do not ask for uploads of minecraft.jar.
      • Do not pm me.
      • If you have problems installing, you are likely doing something wrong. Make sure you've followed the instructions exactly, read the FAQ and Wiki. If that doesn't work you can always ask in the thread, while I will likely not reply, there are others who can help you with your problem. But at least try to get it working yourself first.

    Fancypack causes a crash. All other mods work wonders. I have no idea what to do.... I have tried changing my mod_fancypack.cfg, tried changing my item.db... I'm clueless on whats going wrong. There are no errors on my console it just crashes randomly and or any time i try to build a fancypack item.

    Im not sure if I should be asking this here or in Mo creatures but....

    Are there any mob mods that are compatible with Mos creatures( ecocreatures,mobloot,heroicdeath,etc)? Our server has ecocreatures and heroicdeath right now and it doesnt seem like you can get money for killing ogres and such.

    Well, it works now, though, I still have a hard time getting ICTranslator to work. I don't know where to put those folder commands for the .csv files, every script included just screws it up.

    Don't mind the treestuff, I downloaded this one as my one was one long line of text, no enters. But when I remove te tree stuff it doesn't work, even though I am not using ICNTrees.

    I don't know why it doesn't work, when i lunch translate.bat, the cmd window opened but after 0.5second it desapear. Lines are correct? How can we do to stop the cmd window and see what is the error message?

    Itemcraft had been working for a while with Mo's Creatures, but now on my world no animals/mobs spawn on certain parts of the map anymore. Maybe the problem has to do with a certain creature despawn bug and some never despawn even on inactive chunks I'm guessing....or it could be something else I can't think of. Even when I disable the Mo's creatures plugin in plugins.ic, vanilla mobs seem to spawn again but only just a few here and there. Spawn definitely works again at a normal rate for sure though... when I run bukkit vanilla rather than itemcraft bukkit.

    I tried:

    1. Increasing mob/animal spawn limit to 1000/500 in oldscript.ic to no effect
    2. Disabling all other bukkit plugins
    3. Running a new world....yes of course this fixes the issue, but not quite a solution..

    Anyone else with this issue?

    I had something familiar on my server before I installed Mo' Creatures. No creatures were spawning. I did the same as you, but it is not related to Itemcraft I think, since I had this problem before I used Itemcraft.

    I wouldn't rule this out, maybe Mo's Creatures/itemcraft could exacerbate the problem possibly due to increase of amount of creatures, and it just might be more of a bukkit/minecraft bug. On second try of running vanilla bukkit it did not seem to fix the issue as much as I thought as before so you could be right. I need to find other ways to test/remedy the issue. Now this probably has to due with my map being on the big side....its about 160mb

    Did the issue get fixed in your instance (say it must've fixed itself after later version of MC/bukkit?) or you moved on to using a different map?

    run translate.bat from command line window. Press windows button+R then type cmd.exe followed with the path to translate.bat
    Then you get the command window and type translate.bat in that.

    Well, if I remove the lines about the trees, the file just doesn't get loaded for some reason, so no plugins are loaded as well, removing the placed blocks in my world. First tested out on a test server, luckily.
    When Itemcraft autocreates such a file, it is one long line. Works, but is very confusing to look at.

    I see, this confuses folks. You are using notepad probably. Try notepad++. I'm going to see if I can put in carriage return characters depending on the system.

    I tried something different now. With Notepad++ I placed the lines for the files in 'oldscript.ic', since that one is going to be loaded before the plugins as well, as commented in the 'plugins.ic'. I am getting something different now.

    Ok, it works now. I thought I updated Itemcraft but for some reasing the PC didn't agree with 'overwriting' and instead renamed the new ItemCraft.jar to ItemCraft(1).jar. Lovely.
    It works now!

    Now to figure out how the ICTranslator.jar works.

    Can some1 help me? My server is running perfect. the Fancymod is working perfect in singleplayer, but if i make a chair or a wall or something in SMP, it crashes :(, how can i fix that?

    Do you have version 6 of the unofficial update? That one doesn't work yet in Itemcraft. Stick to v5 for now^^

    I'd check the Minecraft Forums for a SSP mod that has what you're looking for. The purpose of ItemCraft is to bring previously SSP-only mods into Bukkit for multiplayer use. Have you checked the Plugin Releases section of these forums? Otherwise, if a mod you're looking for does not exist in SSP, it can't be ported and is outside the scope of this plugin - simple. If you can't find what you want, try making a mod request on the Minecraft board or here in the Bukkit Mod Request forums and see what turns up - but this thread is not the place for it.     So how do i compile it correctly? I only compiled with MCP until now.
    I tried it over the commandprompt with: "javac" but i get tons of errors.
    I think i have to put some files from bukkit or itemcraft somewhere to compile correcttly? But where and what program is best for compiling. When i search for java and compile i get tons of results. :p

    Aye sticking to Version 5 is best for now - BigBrother (the fellow maintaining the unofficial update for FancyPack in Syrup's absence) has done pretty good work with bringing the mod to 1.6.6 but he's currently adding features between updates that makes the previous version obsolete. Likewise, for every update of the mod on the SSP side, ICFancyPack.jar on the Bukkit side needs an update too. I'm no coder so this is speculation, but I think asgaard is waiting for the new features in FancyPack to get tapered off before he spends a bunch of time getting it to work. It's not that it's buggy so much as block/itemIDs got shuffled around a bit and he'd have to rework a plugin every single time it got something added to it.

    It's basically like building a lovely cabin in the forest, getting the flowers and gravel path and everything situated, and a creeper comes up and gives you a hug.. but blows a hole in your house. With a hug, mind you.

    i have a little problem, after i follow the installation when i try to login nothing, nothing apperars, it doesn't even enter ingame, after a short delay a black screen appears, and in the command line apears that i logged off

    Do you have the client side mods installed? If you haven't you can't login onto the server.
