    ItemCraft is a Bukkit mod that allows adding new item and block types, crafting and furnace recipes, and custom tree generators and more. Using a Modloader and SettingsGUI interface it allows subplugins known as ICPlugins to be loaded to support client mods. ICPlugins can be created by translating a client mod using the ICTranslator ICplugin. Using a ModloaderMP interface (ported by krnlyng/liar) it allows porting multiplayer mods to bukkit.

    Installation & Usage:
    • Back up your world(s). Just in case.
    • ItemCraft.jar goes in same folder as craftbukkit
    • IC plugins go into ItemCraft/ICPlugins folder under craftbukkit. (folder is autocreated the first time)
    • uncomment (remove #) in front of all plugins you want to use in plugins.ics (autocreated in ItemCraft/ICScript)
    • Make sure you have the recommended version of craftbukkit in the title - since this is a mod of that version in particular.
    • Delete/rename the META-INF folder inside craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar (Use some decent zip program (e.g. 7zip) that can do it.)
    • All players on the server needs to have the client mods installed
    • If you use the 16 bit entity id packet mod (in case you use new entites (only ICMCreatures need it)), All players need (flan's unofficial) ModLoaderMP client mod
    • All players also need the 16 bit entity id packet mod (overwrites a ModLoaderMP's class so make sure ModLoaderMP is installed first) in case you use new entites (only ICMCreatures need it) If decide not to use the packet mod, you can turn it off putting this in your startup file: false setEntityIDPacketMod
    • Sometimes you get block/item ID conflicts, between plugins. You then need to set the conflicting ids in the startup script using setID command: example. They have to be set before the plugin that uses them is loaded. Note also that there is typically a props file on the clientside you have to edit the ids on to be the same as well.

      Suggestions of mods to port
      Vote here not in this thread anymore (it gets lost in all the other stuff)

      Reporting errors:
      • Read known issues - don't report those.
      • State the version of CB, ItemCraft and ICPlugin(s) you have problems with
      • If your client crashes, start the client from command line so that you get the error report.
      • Make sure the mod(s) works in SSP First before you report any errors here.
      • You are more likely to get a response if you describe the problem in more detail and do some testing yourself first of under what circumstances it occurs
      • Do not ask for uploads of minecraft.jar.
      • Do not pm me.
      • If you have problems installing, you are likely doing something wrong. Make sure you've followed the instructions exactly, read the FAQ and Wiki. If that doesn't work you can always ask in the thread, while I will likely not reply, there are others who can help you with your problem. But at least try to get it working yourself first.

    Yes, as long as its before the plugin is started. its actually safer to put anything there than in init.ic, since ItemCraft commands will not work there.

    Some of those previous errors were I think caused by a sticking key on my keyboard - anyway, I wouldn't worry about them - things are looking up !!

    Its basically a listing of all translations made, and in what files. Once you have this, you can move on to the last phase of porting the mod, which is to turn it into an ICplugin. This part will however require at least some java knowledge, until there is detailed enough tutorials out here for the regular java noob to do it.
  6. No, thats all I got - All that was in the test1 folder was Stainedglass mod unzipped files and modloader unzipped files - should there have been anything else ?
    The test1 folder was the source files.

    Here is a copy of my test2 folder - HERE

    I typed in the server GUI :
    "c:\\test2\\" file "c:\\test2\\mod\\" file translate1

    and previous post was what I got - however, there was nothing in the mod folder when I looked.

    In that case there seems to be only one explanation left. Your retroSource folder is not set correctly. Try:
    "retroSource" "c:\\test1\\java\\" putsetting
    It needs that last \\. I guess I could make it more lenient.
  9. I'm not sure how Biome and Itemcraft live together ? However, try downloading a test server from HERE
    and see if you can get it working without Biome. If you can, then try adding Biome after and see if thats the issue.

    in the last 1.5_01 version, it worked just fine. I dunno whats been changed or whats the difference, but ill try out this test server.


    Cant run the Test Server.. using Ubuntu Linux. I need a script or console command to modify.


    I took out Biome and tried to start with nothing but Itemcraft and CB and I get the same error.

  11. Yes, that was it - the result was too long to post here - but I've now got some files in my mod folder - am I close ? wots next ?
    I got 6 files

    The test server MAY help you - it doesn't need Itemcraft listing seperately, so you should get away with something like this if you use it :
    java -Xmx7162M -Xms7162M -cp BiomeTerrain.jar:craftbukkit860.jar og.bukkit.craftbukkit.Main
    By the way - huge memory allocation there - have you tried lowering it a bit to see if that helps ?

    Yes, then you have some native files that are modded, typically all two letter class files (obfuscated names). If you want to translate those too, there's two ways to do it.
    a) make dummy class files with the corresponding mcp class names
    b) use the translate command to translate individual files.
    In case a) you use use the same command.
    In case b) you do:
    "java.lang.String" class [ "" "" ] "c:\\test1\\translatedmod\\" translate
    BlockReed and EntityLiving are just examples.
    To figure out what the deobfuscated names are, search for the obfuscated name in reg.reg. Then you should get the mcp name.

    Trying to run a local windows version of this Test Server. Im errors still on start up. Using just the minecraft6.bat I get Invalid or Corrupt jarfile Craftbukkit860.jar my Command prompt then closes... using the Modified Bat i made to run with Biome I get errors.

    Edit: I got the Test Server to run in Windows, but I cant figure out how to tie in Biome.. Im using onlt 1024 as memory Allocation.

    Ya, using just CB and Itemcraft and only 1024 on my linux Server I cant get it to start.

    Im still getting

    when i downgraded to 1.3.5 for 818. I got IC to start but then it threw some exceptions. So there is something up with 860 and 1.4 or something. here is the exception i get when i downgrade to 1.3.5

  18. There is an alternative test server available where you got the other one from - that is still runs with bukkit #860, but it uses Itemcraft 1.3.8 - worth a try perhaps ?
    I'm not sure that Biome is going to run with Itemcraft on 1.6.6 - there may have been too many changes made which is stopping this working - I shall give it a try myself when I have some time tomorrow - in the meantime, if you haven't tried the alternative - there's nothing lost in trying it out ?

    Im not even using BiomeTerrain Mod. I cant get Itemcraft 1.4 and CB 860 to start on my server at all.
  20. You say you have windows & linux - one of your edits say you got it to work on windows ?
    If you want to add in the biome try :
    java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -cp BiomeTerrain.jar;craftbukkit860.jar og.bukkit.craftbukkit.Main

    The semi-colon between Biome and Craftbukkit may make the difference

    I tried with a semicolon cause i know the diff from windows to linux, not being smug just stating. Umm.. on my linux server I got 1.4.1 IC to start up but it immediately causes errors....

    I got just the your test server to run on my Local Windows PC.
    My Server is not local its a Dedicated Server in Germany and its Linux Based.

    In the windows one I only could get the IC 860 to start.
    On the Linux Server. I cant get IC to start at all with out causign massive errors


    Well, I have NO idea what I did.. I got IC to work, and added Biome, and it all just worked. TBH, im clueless. I did nothing differently. I just redownloaded, I also let IC generate new folders. Maybe thats the issue.

    Thanks for helping me.. I wish I could know what I did to fix it.

    Still have Problems with the Translator.
    It says that mcpmet is set to nonexsisting file.
    I have the methods.csv in c:\retro
    I used this command:
    "mcpmet" "c:\\retro\\methods.csv" putSetting
    I dont get why it keeps saying its nonexsistant.

    Please excuse my noob ways but I'm obviously doing something very wrong with the latest update. When I run the craftbukkit starter everything loads fine until it gets to loading the world at which point I get a flood of severe error messages consisting of NoSuchMethod and Unexpected Exception. What do these mean?

    I've followed the instructions to a tee (I think) and even tried loading a fresh world but it doesn't help.

    Edit: Nevermind, I stopped being an idiot and just redid everything and it works. However, now anyone who connects to my server is fine until they place a block, destroy a block or open a chest, craftbench etc. at which point they get disconnected with End Of Stream. Any ideas?

  26. I put my settings in the plugins.ic file - @asdaarg said as long as they go before the plugins - should be no problem - here's the relavent part of my plugins.ic file - my csv files are in c:\test1 with my retrosource in c:\test1\java

    Thanks icephantom. Will try it tomorrow. Its late already where i live. Too tired to concentrate myself right now. :p
    Think the error was that i tried to manually type the commands afzter plugins were loaded.

    @asdaarg Hey, i just found this/tested it, and thought this might interest you a bit. Its a modloader for bukkit, basically.

    showmessage (open)

    Tested it with Flan's WW2 guns, the only mod ported to it currently.
