    ItemCraft is a Bukkit mod that allows adding new item and block types, crafting and furnace recipes, and custom tree generators and more. Using a Modloader and SettingsGUI interface it allows subplugins known as ICPlugins to be loaded to support client mods. ICPlugins can be created by translating a client mod using the ICTranslator ICplugin. Using a ModloaderMP interface (ported by krnlyng/liar) it allows porting multiplayer mods to bukkit.

    Installation & Usage:
    • Back up your world(s). Just in case.
    • ItemCraft.jar goes in same folder as craftbukkit
    • IC plugins go into ItemCraft/ICPlugins folder under craftbukkit. (folder is autocreated the first time)
    • uncomment (remove #) in front of all plugins you want to use in plugins.ics (autocreated in ItemCraft/ICScript)
    • Make sure you have the recommended version of craftbukkit in the title - since this is a mod of that version in particular.
    • Delete/rename the META-INF folder inside craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar (Use some decent zip program (e.g. 7zip) that can do it.)
    • All players on the server needs to have the client mods installed
    • If you use the 16 bit entity id packet mod (in case you use new entites (only ICMCreatures need it)), All players need (flan's unofficial) ModLoaderMP client mod
    • All players also need the 16 bit entity id packet mod (overwrites a ModLoaderMP's class so make sure ModLoaderMP is installed first) in case you use new entites (only ICMCreatures need it) If decide not to use the packet mod, you can turn it off putting this in your startup file: false setEntityIDPacketMod
    • Sometimes you get block/item ID conflicts, between plugins. You then need to set the conflicting ids in the startup script using setID command: example. They have to be set before the plugin that uses them is loaded. Note also that there is typically a props file on the clientside you have to edit the ids on to be the same as well.

      Suggestions of mods to port
      Vote here not in this thread anymore (it gets lost in all the other stuff)

      Reporting errors:
      • Read known issues - don't report those.
      • State the version of CB, ItemCraft and ICPlugin(s) you have problems with
      • If your client crashes, start the client from command line so that you get the error report.
      • Make sure the mod(s) works in SSP First before you report any errors here.
      • You are more likely to get a response if you describe the problem in more detail and do some testing yourself first of under what circumstances it occurs
      • Do not ask for uploads of minecraft.jar.
      • Do not pm me.
      • If you have problems installing, you are likely doing something wrong. Make sure you've followed the instructions exactly, read the FAQ and Wiki. If that doesn't work you can always ask in the thread, while I will likely not reply, there are others who can help you with your problem. But at least try to get it working yourself first.

    Yes, I separated the setting up part, and doing actual translation part, so you can repeat the translation part for as many mods you like.

    Ok i downloaded and installed this as im on win7 64bit

    But when i run the translate.bat i still get the Message to install the JDK Version.
    Do i have to setup some kind of path? I remember doing this when i installed something with Java some Time ago. Or is it supposed to work just by installing it?

    Edit: Redownloaded the translate.bat of course.

    I've uploaded a second version of the bat file available HERE.

    If the java variables are installed in your Windows system, then if you are able to open a command prompt and type 'java' or 'jar' and this returns some text other that 'unknown command' - please try this alternative bat file.

    The way MCP does it is pretty straight forward I think:

    No need to keep track of what path java or jar is in.

    Edit: I see you just fixed that. Once it works for people I'll just put it into the zip.

    I am trying to set up the translator, but, what do I exactly put in the startup file?
    I mean, I understand defining the paths, but which path to which file?
    Could someone give me an example?
    And the minecraft.jar, should it contain the mod with modloader, or just the mod?

    I updated instructions so you can see now which file corresponds to what setting. minecraft.jar only needs the mod, but if you want to play with it too you probably want to have modloader in there too. and whatever else it needs.

    Yeah, I understand that. But I thought it would be necessary to ONLY have the mod you want translated in the folder, nothing more.
    But I could just add my normal modded .jar in the folder, with the mod I want translated?

    hi dear assdarg we have much problems with this mod wie do not know where our problem is. we can start the server with no error but when we want to connect , after logging in we became first the normal brwon screen from minecraft then blackscreen and then in the server console stands we have got disconnectet by end of stream .Pls say if you now the problem or a better thing is when you do a youtube video about the installing of this mod.

    The last question, sorry for being stupid, but the "retrosource", the java folder, do you mean 'retroguard.jar'?
    Sorry, I am not that into Java. This seems fairly easy to use, but for those who are new to this, configuring it all, it is a bit hard. And with the startup file, you mean plugins.ic, right?

    When you first run it creates a java folder. Its that folder. It should be directly under retro folder.

    Have you tried installing this updated 16bit mod to your client from - HERE.
    Just install the 2 files into the root of your minecraft.jar as you would any other mod.

    Hmm i did everything step by step.
    When i specified the settings i didnt get any Errors.
    But when i want to translate i get this, dont know if its my fault as there were no Errors before.

    Hey guys,
    When I run the test server, it shows ItemCraft as part of the start up, but it doesn't actually run. I'm using Mo' Creatures and SuperSlopes only. Also I have a Mac... I hope someone can help.
    Here's the start up, again, it works fine but the plugin just doesn't run:

    I've just re-tested this - it works fine for Windows - shouldn't be any different for a mac - can you check in the Itemcraft/ICScripts directory - open the file 'plugins.ic' and check that the lines with the mod names don't have a '#' at the beginning. All the mod files should be in the Itemcraft/ICPlugins directory please ?
    The lines should look like this.

    ## Uncomment Plugins you want to use:

    That's probably because you didn't specify a correct input folder.
    A simple test to see whether the folder is correct, type in the GUI:
    "c:\\blah\\themod" file exists

    Don't worry, its not that hard, I'm making a list of things you need to do so you can do it step by step.

    You, good sir, are really Awesome.
    Though it seems I still can't port the trains mod, since it somehow conflicts with other mods (they stop working) or ModloaderMP makes them unusable, since I can't connect to my server with Mo' Creatures and FancyPack anymore.
    I'll just find another one to do^^

    When playing SMP, if I use the GUI to change MO's creature setting will this affect to server?

    If not, how do you config the spawning of Mo's creature?

    Please download the zip file HERE.
    This contains 3 files - put the plugins.ic and the oldscript.ic file into your Itemcraft/ICScrip folder replacing whats there (or make a backup of your plugins.ic file first). The 3rd file 'Moretrees.props' would go in your .minecraft folder and is only needed if you are running the trees mod.
    The plugins.ic file is set to ONLY run the Mo Creatures and the Trees mods. If you are running other mods, please open the plugins.ic file with a text editor and put a '#' at the beginning of each line with the name of the mods you DON'T wish to run, and remove the '#' for those which you do !
    The settings for Mo Creatures are already set, but if you wish to change things, you will need to edit the 'oldscripts.ic' file.

    The older version of Fancypack which works with the current IC plugin can be downloaded HERE.
    However, if you have already put the newer version in your Minecraft.jar file - DON'T install this version, it'll cause problems, get a version of your jar before you installed the newer version of Fancypack, or start from scratch with a clean minecraft.jar.

    Got to this point :

    - which I've been unable to do, and then you lost me completely. Fingers crossed your revised guide can assist. But many thanks anyway on providing something that was always going to need a bit of a learning curve.
