    ItemCraft is a Bukkit mod that allows adding new item and block types, crafting and furnace recipes, and custom tree generators and more. Using a Modloader and SettingsGUI interface it allows subplugins known as ICPlugins to be loaded to support client mods. ICPlugins can be created by translating a client mod using the ICTranslator ICplugin. Using a ModloaderMP interface (ported by krnlyng/liar) it allows porting multiplayer mods to bukkit.

    Installation & Usage:
    • Back up your world(s). Just in case.
    • ItemCraft.jar goes in same folder as craftbukkit
    • IC plugins go into ItemCraft/ICPlugins folder under craftbukkit. (folder is autocreated the first time)
    • uncomment (remove #) in front of all plugins you want to use in plugins.ics (autocreated in ItemCraft/ICScript)
    • Make sure you have the recommended version of craftbukkit in the title - since this is a mod of that version in particular.
    • Delete/rename the META-INF folder inside craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar (Use some decent zip program (e.g. 7zip) that can do it.)
    • All players on the server needs to have the client mods installed
    • If you use the 16 bit entity id packet mod (in case you use new entites (only ICMCreatures need it)), All players need (flan's unofficial) ModLoaderMP client mod
    • All players also need the 16 bit entity id packet mod (overwrites a ModLoaderMP's class so make sure ModLoaderMP is installed first) in case you use new entites (only ICMCreatures need it) If decide not to use the packet mod, you can turn it off putting this in your startup file: false setEntityIDPacketMod
    • Sometimes you get block/item ID conflicts, between plugins. You then need to set the conflicting ids in the startup script using setID command: example. They have to be set before the plugin that uses them is loaded. Note also that there is typically a props file on the clientside you have to edit the ids on to be the same as well.

      Vote here not in this thread anymore (it gets lost in all the other stuff)

      Reporting errors:
      • Read known issues - don't report those.
      • State the version of CB, ItemCraft and ICPlugin(s) you have problems with
      • If your client crashes, start the client from command line so that you get the error report.
      • Make sure the mod(s) works in SSP First before you report any errors here.
      • You are more likely to get a response if you describe the problem in more detail and do some testing yourself first of under what circumstances it occurs
      • Do not ask for uploads of minecraft.jar.
      • Do not pm me.
      • If you have problems installing, you are likely doing something wrong. Make sure you've followed the instructions exactly, read the FAQ and Wiki. If that doesn't work you can always ask in the thread, while I will likely not reply, there are others who can help you with your problem. But at least try to get it working yourself first.

    Edit: Nvm, I forgot to update the version number there since it doesn't pull that off the yml file :p If you haven't got it, get it.

    DropBonus no longer complains in 0.3.4 so I suppose Essentials wont either. ControllerBlock still has issues but don't have the source so I'm not sure what's causing it. If anything else complains, let me know.
    Edit: Nvm, for some stupid reason I uncommented the code. ControllerBlock does not complain anymore in 0.3.5.

    I have a good news for me. I can now use you plugin. I have just made a little test and I will do more today but that sounds very good.
    With your plugin, it is possible to add new type of trees ? If yes, I think that Nandonalt's Trees could be a nice addition. :)

    Yah, we got it working using a shell file that we launched through Putty, will be showing the commands later.

    OK, full workaround for people that cannot actually edit the bat file on a dedicated vps, but have full access ftp.

    First, you need to get putty:

    Second, you need to get your login and password for your ftp to your server. *Important* your VPS provider must be using SSH For this to work.

    Third, you need to run the linux screen from putty so you can run the next bit I will tell you. This is normally screen -r. In my case, when minecraft isn't running, I have to use the name of the screen used by my host; MCDash.

    Next, create a .sh file with this: java -Xmx4096M -Xms4096M -cp plugins/ItemCraft.jar:craftbukkit.jar org.bukkit.craftbukkit.Main (don't forget to edit how much memory your server uses), and store it in the SAME DIRECTORY AS CRAFTBUKKIT.

    Lastly, run whatever you called the .sh file, in my case; offblast, using the command line. This is how mine is set up, and the commands that I use:
    screen -dmS MCDash sh

    Now that I've had my coffee, and am no longer grumpy, I have edited this to be a little more concise.

    Got this to load quite easily (I'm not sure why so many people are having trouble getting rid of the META-INF folder, I just used WinRar), but my question is this. Is there any way for the end-user to convert a client mod into a .jar to be able to use this? For instance, I'd really like to get the Airship mod ( working on my server. But of course, it's not setup to be a plugin. I'm going to message the creator, but I was hoping for a work around for myself.

    Great plugin btw! Hopefully the mod scene will catch on quickly and make plugin versions! :D

    If ItemCraft supports new Entities, I would gladly dedicate an entire day to getting my mods on SMP.

    The reason why so many people are having issues is pretty simple, they run on dedicated vps servers that hook into minecraft differently than if you were running it on your desktop. If you had read the posts instead of doing a tl:dr, you would have seen the issue. A lot of people were also not running the modified .bat file before starting the server.

    In complete fairness, I read every post. A lot of them simply said they were having problems with it. I get the people who are running on dedicated servers not having access, but there were definitely posts that just said "I can't delete it, wtf!".

    Yesterday I installed this plugin in my server and it worked without problems. Thank you asdaarg for making this. Can you post a way of making other mods compatible? or it is too difficult?

    +1 to add it to craftbukkit.

    minor problem, it doesn't report the craftbukkit version, this makes some plugins to return warnings, but they work ok (portecullisant), other than that no problems so far.

    Let's suppose that I want to add Nandonalt's Trees on my server. I put the mod on my client. After that, can I use the "text file"method to add all the data on the server side or for things like trees, I need to use plugin based on the mod as you done for KSlopes ?

    Nandonalts trees wont generate new trees, I'd have to add a generator in that case too. The text file method is really just for very basic things, at least for now, I might add more options later that allows things like setting how much an item heals when used, or what blocks it can destroy (picks) or how much damage it does (weapons.) If you have any ideas you can make a list.

    The slopes are blocks which are technically items, but they are not items in the sense of non block items e.g. shovels and cocoa beans. To make blocks you use:
    block <id>
    while other items you make with:
    item <id>
    Try i with some item you have using a client mod, and you should be able to /give yourself it, but it will have the default properties. Btw, earlier I meant examples of properties that you can set on items usign the text file.

    Yes, order matters. You cannot instruct it to make a recipe referring to items that you have not previously added.

    Yes, you can do it for other mods in two ways, using the API (making a plugin) or using the text file.

    I'm adding a world generator mod so you can generate trees for nandonalt's mod.

    Well exactly how the tree is going to look like must be up to the plugin, but I'm adding options to configure tree types and scarcity per biome, so you can go beyond what the client mod provides :)

    The API for it is ready. Could someone ask Nandonalt to a) release the source b) let me have the look at it or c) ask if he is interested in making the plugin for it himself? I could provide a barebones so he could just copy paste his code for the trees in.
