ItemCraft is a Bukkit mod that allows adding new item and block types, crafting and furnace recipes, and custom tree generators and more. Using a Modloader and SettingsGUI interface it allows subplugins known as ICPlugins to be loaded to support client mods. ICPlugins can be created by translating a client mod using the ICTranslator ICplugin. Using a ModloaderMP interface (ported by krnlyng/liar) it allows porting multiplayer mods to bukkit.

    • Add more Block types
    • Add more Item types
    • Add more Entity types
    • Add more TileEntity types
    • Add more Crafting recipes
    • Add more Smelting recipes
    • Add more Tree generators
    • Ported ModLoader interface
    • Ported ModLoaderMP interface
    • Fake GUIAPI Settings interface
    • Startup file for configuring plugins and making simple blocks and items

    Installation & Usage:
    • Back up your world(s). Just in case.
    • ItemCraft.jar goes in same folder as craftbukkit
    • IC plugins go into ItemCraft/ICPlugins folder under craftbukkit. (folder is autocreated the first time)
    • uncomment (remove #) in front of all plugins you want to use in plugins.ics (autocreated in ItemCraft/ICScript)
    • Make sure you have the recommended version of craftbukkit in the title - since this is a mod of that version in particular.
    • Delete/rename the META-INF folder inside craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar (Use some decent zip program (e.g. 7zip) that can do it.)
    • All players on the server needs to have the client mods installed
    • If you use the 16 bit entity id packet mod (in case you use new entites (only ICMCreatures need it)), All players need (flan's unofficial) ModLoaderMP client mod
    • All players also need the 16 bit entity id packet mod (overwrites a ModLoaderMP's class so make sure ModLoaderMP is installed first) in case you use new entites (only ICMCreatures need it) If decide not to use the packet mod, you can turn it off putting this in your startup file: false setEntityIDPacketMod
    • Sometimes you get block/item ID conflicts, between plugins. You then need to set the conflicting ids in the startup script using setID command: example. They have to be set before the plugin that uses them is loaded. Note also that there is typically a props file on the clientside you have to edit the ids on to be the same as well.
    • To start:
      • Windows:
        java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -cp ItemCraft.jar;craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar org.bukkit.craftbukkit.Main
      • Others:
        java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -cp ItemCraft.jar:craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar org.bukkit.craftbukkit.Main

      Reporting errors:
      • Read known issues - don't report those.
      • State the version of CB, ItemCraft and ICPlugin(s) you have problems with
      • If your client crashes, start the client from command line so that you get the error report.
      • Make sure the mod(s) works in SSP First before you report any errors here.
      • You are more likely to get a response if you describe the problem in more detail and do some testing yourself first of under what circumstances it occurs
      • Do not ask for uploads of minecraft.jar.
      • Do not pm me.
      • If you have problems installing, you are likely doing something wrong. Make sure you've followed the instructions exactly, read the FAQ and Wiki. If that doesn't work you can always ask in the thread, while I will likely not reply, there are others who can help you with your problem. But at least try to get it working yourself first.

That said, I want to thank all who have helped users with their problems. In particular special thanks to icephantom and Asymetrikon for their big efforts in this. Also a special thanks to xeronut for being generally helpful.

  2. asdaarg, why does the plugin needs so much hacking around? The Bukkit Developers dont wanna give you support by adding some API so you could make ItemCraft into a simple plugin? Or even better, integrate ItemCraft into CraftBukkit?

I dont know if this still works. But you can try this.
    Example for Cactus:

    81 removeBlock
    "ICFancyPack" getPlugin getPluginClassLoader "mods.BlockCactus" getClassLoaderClass
    "java.lang.Class" class [classint classint]
    "java.lang.Object" class [81 0]
Do you have the Packetmod installed too?
Are you using FancyPack and configured the props that is located in the Folder where your Minecraft.exe is?

I am curious to that batch translation program. No, I am probably too ignorant to use it, but, will it someday be possible that it will completely port mods, so everyone can make plugins themselves easily?

I know it doesn't automates everything, but would that be possible?

Hi all. First thx for you plugin. I have a question. i use minecraft 1.6.6 with bukkit serveur 860 & itemCraft 1.3.8 for ICMCreature. This work on my server but i don't have no ogre, no Wraith. Only birds, horses, and fox. Can you help me ? i've tried to do this :
config usedefaults plugin ICFancyPack.jar plugin ICMCreatures.jar setint MobsSpawnLimit 50 setint AnimalsSpawnLimit 50 setint WaterMobSpawnLimit 30 setint FreqHorse 8 setbool EasyHorseBreeding false setint PegasusSpawningP 1 setint FreqBird 10 setint FreqBunny 9 setint FreqDuck 7 setbool HuntersAttackHorses true setbool HuntersDestroyDrops true setint FreqLion 2 setint FreqBear 2 setint FreqPBear 2 setint FreqBoar 3

    but doesn't work.
    Thank you :)

One major problem is that it makes mistranslations. These mistranslations are due to a faulty mapping which is in part produced by the program, and in part manually adjusted. After having ported a couple of mods, I realized there was a bug that made some of these. I'm pretty sure there is another one, but I have to see next time if it wasn't just a consequence of the first one. It is in fact possible that it will work flawlessly the next time. The reason it takes so long to port mods now is because of these mistranslations. If anyone is willing to redo the mapping with the fixed version, then I might be able to port mods faster. It takes roughly 1-2 hours to do the mapping, maybe longer if you are not used to it.

I wish I could do that for you, but sadly my coding knowledge is just a very small amount of Visual Basic, not even Java. Though, how much I know about Visual Basic is useless anyway.
I could learn Java, but I guess before I can do stuff like this it will take a long time...

I think, the newest ItemCraft is linked wrong. I always get the version 1.3.3
  22. I, and I think one or two other people have had the failure of the new version of Fancypack to load in our client. I suspect only people who have used an earlier version of Fancypack will have the problem.
Interestingly, Fancypack puts it properties file in the same location as where you run your minecraft.exe file from, so its not in the same folder as where your minecraft.jar is. If, for example, I download Minecraft.exe - this is the small download you get from the main website and put this file on my desktop, then, I add Fancypack to my minecraft.jar file, when I run Minecraft, the properties file for Fancypack called : '' would end up being created on my desktop and NOT in my .minecraft folder.
Where-ever you launch your minecraft.exe from (not a shortcut, the actual file), look in the same folder for the Fancypack properties file. Delete it, and the next time you run Minecraft with Fancypack installed, it will re-create the properties file with the correct values and your client will run OK.
As stated above, I think this will only affect Minecraft users who have installed an earlier version of Fancypack, because they've probably never had reason to delete the old properties file.
Just in case, if you are unable to find the '' where I've described, do try looking in your .minecraft folder, for at least one person, that's where it ended up.

Mrgreaper - did you get stainedglass & fancypack working yet ?

No, the link is correct - if you have more than one Internet browser available (i.e. Firefox and Google Chrome), then try using your alternative browser - it is possible version 1.3.3 is being cached by your default browser so when you click on the link, you are getting a previously downloaded file.
Did we discuss this previous ? If we did, my apologies.

I have not long tried Fancypack out on my test server. I tried a small section of road and walked along it, and I DO go faster than walking on standard blocks ! Not a huge amount faster, but definately faster.

I'm not sure about putting anything in the init.ic file - I haven't edited this file at all to get Mo creatures to run.
The only file I edited was in 'ItemCraft\ICSripts' folder - the file is named : plugins.ic
    It contains the following :

    ## Uncomment Plugins you want to use:
    #"ICKSlopes.jar" plugin
    #"ICFancyPack.jar" plugin
    #"ICSGlass.jar" plugin
    "ICMCreatures.jar" plugin
    #"ICNTrees.jar" plugin
    #"ICJanino.jar" plugin
    #"ICJode.jar" plugin

All you have to do is remove the # from the beginning of each line containing the name of the plugin you wish to choose.
The above example already has the # removed for Mo Creatures, therefore only Mo creatures would run with Itemcraft using this setup.

Assuming you have read/write permissions on the folder where your bukkit.jar file is, then the only reason you would normally be denied access to change it is if your server is still running. You would need to stop your server running before making any changes to the bukkit.jar file.

I agree that there is an amount of work involved in getting this plugin to run, but this is partly down to the fact that not everyone has the necessary skills to know about altering files, or putting files in corrrect locations. However, most of the problems arise out of changes within Minecraft itself. Mods are always trying to push Minecraft into doing something more than its original design, but many people have as much trouble with installing single player mods, let alone this server plugin - I think @asdaarg has done a very good - and made very popular plugin here. The very fact that people are not willing to give up until they've got it working is a good indicator that this is a much wanted plugin, and I'm sure he's doing his best to make things as easy to install as possible, but with so many different versions of both bukkit servers and clientside minecraft versions and SSP mod versions, there are always going to be issues on installation - but thats what this thread is for ! To assist where it can.

In order to assist, we'd need a little more information please.
When you say it black-screens are you meaning your client locks up with a black screen and then shuts down ? If so, could you say which client-side mods you have installed please ? If you have a clean minecraft.jar file, could you perhaps start over and try installing one mod at a time and start minecraft after each installation and let us know exactly which one seems to make your minecraft crash. This will help us better track down the problem.

Please click on the download link for the files you need.

Inside this zip file are 3 files.
Please place the plugins.ic and the oldscript.ic into your ItemCraft\ICScripts folder on your server overwiting whats there (or make a backup of your existing plugins.ic file first if you wish).
Place the MoreTrees.props file into your %appdata%\.minecraft folder (assuming you are using Windows). If using Linux, put it in the same folder as where your minecraft.jar file is.

The settings in the plugins.ic and the MoreTrees.props files are set up to run the Trees mod and already contain the settings you posted, If you are running other Itemcraft mods, the you will need to edit the plugins.ic file and remove the # from the beginning of each line which contains the name of the mod you are using.
The oldscript.ic file is used with the Mo creatures mod and allows setting changes to which creatures will spawn, and how often. If you are using Mo Creatures, this file has been edited so that Werewolves and Ogres appear as well as many of the other creatures. If you are not using Mo creatures, then you don't really need this file, but it won't do any harm if you put it in the folder anyway.

Did you also install in your minecraft.jar file (client-side) the 16bit entity mod files which you can download from HERE.
Just put the 2 files into the root of your minecraft.jar file - as you would any SSP mod, and give things another try.

we completly abandoned item craft, dealing with client files was a pain, the fact it didnt play nice with precious stones and backpack was a major bad point, we got horendous log files, and it managed to corrupt the server, huge chunks of the world suddenly reset to the original seed and then the server completly crashed.

we went back to the back up just before item craft, reset the corupted database and all is good again, the server is as stable as a rock again no glitchs. the plan is to wait till item craft is much more friendly (perhaps when notch releases a mod api) as right now its a nightmere and the mods it supports dont seem to work all that well

i remain impressed by it and the mods, and can see it being good in the future but its just not stable enough to be used with the other plugins we want to use on our server (precious stones is what we consider a core plugin)

i thank you for your help though it was greatly appreciated.

I'm dissapointed you've had so many problems - I've been running Itemcraft since 1.5-01 and so far, my server has remain up with none of the problems you've described - however, I have to say, I'm not using the mods you specified.

I've just got Stainglass and Fancypack to work on 1.6.6, but only within the last couple of hours (ran out of time over the weekend). So far, everything appears to be working well, but I take your point if you are having problems - don't want to ruin the fun for your users with loads of down-time.

See my post just 2 posts above this one with the, which will hopefully assist.

  26. I've just tried with a small amount of wooden sloped floor with these results :

    - which suggests not normal !
I suppose I'd have to build something much bigger to confirm that it doesn't happen at all though.

Thanks a lot, I've got fancypack working, thanks to your post. Although it didn't create any props file where I normally start it, I deleted the one in .minecraft and started the client from there and it did not crash anymore. Works fine with ICFancyPack as well.

  29. Strange that this file seems to be created in more than one place then ? ...... anyway, as long as it works. The conflict ~256 still shows on my server, but everything (stainedglass and Fancypack) all seem to be working OK, so for now, I'm just leaving that one.

    If you mean this:
    2011-06-12 13:37:27 [INFO] ItemCraft: ICKSlopes 0.1 Loaded.
    2011-06-12 13:37:27 [INFO] CONFLICT @ -236
    2011-06-12 13:37:27 [INFO] ItemCraft: ICSGlass 0.1 Loaded.
    Then that's ICSGlass, not ICFancyPack.
  31. Interesting - I tried making the stained glass - not tried all of the colours yet, but those that I have tried work OK - any idea what the issue is ? I've not really looked at it yet.
