ItemCraft is a Bukkit mod that allows adding new item and block types, crafting and furnace recipes, and custom tree generators and more. Using a Modloader and SettingsGUI interface it allows subplugins known as ICPlugins to be loaded to support client mods. ICPlugins can be created by translating a client mod using the ICTranslator ICplugin. Using a ModloaderMP interface (ported by krnlyng/liar) it allows porting multiplayer mods to bukkit.

    • Add more Block types
    • Add more Item types
    • Add more Entity types
    • Add more TileEntity types
    • Add more Crafting recipes
    • Add more Smelting recipes
    • Add more Tree generators
    • Ported ModLoader interface
    • Ported ModLoaderMP interface
    • Fake GUIAPI Settings interface
    • Startup file for configuring plugins and making simple blocks and items

    Installation & Usage:
    • Back up your world(s). Just in case.
    • ItemCraft.jar goes in same folder as craftbukkit
    • IC plugins go into ItemCraft/ICPlugins folder under craftbukkit. (folder is autocreated the first time)
    • uncomment (remove #) in front of all plugins you want to use in plugins.ics (autocreated in ItemCraft/ICScript)
    • Make sure you have the recommended version of craftbukkit in the title - since this is a mod of that version in particular.
    • Delete/rename the META-INF folder inside craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar (Use some decent zip program (e.g. 7zip) that can do it.)
    • All players on the server needs to have the client mods installed
    • If you use the 16 bit entity id packet mod (in case you use new entites (only ICMCreatures need it)), All players need (flan's unofficial) ModLoaderMP client mod
    • All players also need the 16 bit entity id packet mod (overwrites a ModLoaderMP's class so make sure ModLoaderMP is installed first) in case you use new entites (only ICMCreatures need it) If decide not to use the packet mod, you can turn it off putting this in your startup file: false setEntityIDPacketMod
    • Sometimes you get block/item ID conflicts, between plugins. You then need to set the conflicting ids in the startup script using setID command: example. They have to be set before the plugin that uses them is loaded. Note also that there is typically a props file on the clientside you have to edit the ids on to be the same as well.
    • To start:
      • Windows:
        java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -cp ItemCraft.jar;craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar org.bukkit.craftbukkit.Main
      • Others:
        java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -cp ItemCraft.jar:craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar org.bukkit.craftbukkit.Main

      Reporting errors:
      • Read known issues - don't report those.
      • State the version of CB, ItemCraft and ICPlugin(s) you have problems with
      • If your client crashes, start the client from command line so that you get the error report.
      • Make sure the mod(s) works in SSP First before you report any errors here.
      • You are more likely to get a response if you describe the problem in more detail and do some testing yourself first of under what circumstances it occurs
      • Do not ask for uploads of minecraft.jar.
      • Do not pm me.
      • If you have problems installing, you are likely doing something wrong. Make sure you've followed the instructions exactly, read the FAQ and Wiki. If that doesn't work you can always ask in the thread, while I will likely not reply, there are others who can help you with your problem. But at least try to get it working yourself first.

That said, I want to thank all who have helped users with their problems. In particular special thanks to icephantom and Asymetrikon for their big efforts in this. Also a special thanks to xeronut for being generally helpful.

I've moved all the plugins into the ItemCraft/ICPlugins folder. I see you mentioned something about updating KSlopes, maybe you mean on the client side, as I keep crashing everytime I try to log in now with no modifications to my client, and it crashes. I've double cheked to make sure you didn't change any of those three plugins:KSlopes.jar, ICMCreatures.jar, and ICFancyPack.jar. Is there an updated version of KSlopes for the client-side that was released right before the 1.6.5? Not really sure what to do here, I've got all the mods installed from this previous plugin (0.8.x) and now it's not working.

    Here's my server log

    Edit: Just found
SuperSlopes K3 V2, i thought I had this installed. I'll check it out. -- Yeah, I've got this one installed. Still causing issues. I am running your plugin directly out of my craftbukkit.jar due to compatibility issues I was having with the BiomeTerrainMod and ItemCraft both being in the class path. Do you have any Idea what I may have not done? Is there anymore information I could provide you with that would help me solve this problem?

***Case-Closed*** - Got it eventually. Itemcraft seems to be compatible with the biome terrain mod in the class path now ^^

You've deleted the META-INF and are trying to launch the Java VM without it now knowing which is the main class to start, try launching the JVM like this:
    java -Xms2560m -Xmx2560m -cp ItemCraft.jar:craftbukkit.jar org.bukkit.craftbukkit.Main
(org.bukkit.craftbukkit.Main specifies the class with the entrypoint in it since the manifest is gone.)

I hope there is more Documentation coming. Im totally Lost. I fear this Plugin got too complicated for me. :(
Or i have to wait that someone with Javaexperience makes a few Plugins. :p
Cant even add a Block with the new system.
  6. Offline

You can always use the init file to add blocks like you done it with the startup file. :)
  7. Offline

The new script is backward compatible, so you can still do block <id> :)

Yes i know. I just wanted to test out the new Features. And failed completly. :D

    Try this:
    NodeMenu classNode Class java.lang.Class "show" {print clicked}
You can put it at the bottom of the init.ics or copy paste into the commandbox in the GUI and press enter.
It will make a popup menu with "show" command on all Class objects. And when you click on it, it prints it out.

Btw: you need 1.0.1 for this to work in windows.

Edit: Other fun stuff you can try:
Edit: This one is funky: (you need 1.0.2 and ICFancyPack)
    getClassLoaderClass getPluginClassLoader getPlugin "ICFancyPack" net.minecraft.server.ICFancyPack
I'm trying to fix the potted plants, hence this ;)

Hmm copied it to the commandbox with IC 1.0.1 but nothing shows up. I can only see the Command showing up in the Serverconsole. No new Menu though.

    NodeMenu classNode Class java.lang.Class "show" {print clicked}

    The other Commands all work.

you have to right click a class, like com.asdaarg.bukkit.ItemCraft

Ah ok does work. Thanks. :)

So to simplify, I can allow only mo creatures to work. And only those with mo creatures can see them and use the materials, but others can still play not see.

Nice. Same works for MOCreatures. :)

Thanks for the reply, and the time to look at it. If you do have extra time, it would be amazing if you could port if over, even if the may end up like Mo. Even now, Mo is good, there's nothing game changing about it. As if there were Pegasus, than that would be :)

Some notes on stack based programming:

What is a stack? A stack is container such that when you put stuff on it, the stuff stacks on each other. It piles up. So when you remove the stuff again, you take up whats on top of the stack first (what you put in last) and what you put in first is removed last.

When you do programming, you manipulate data. In stack based programming you put data in the stack for later use and/or pick up data from the stack in order to manipulate it. You always put data on top of the stack, and you always pick up data from top of the stack.

When you make a program there is a set of instructions you pick from to use. Each instruction picks up a number (can be 0) of elements from the stack, and puts a number back after manipulating them (usually 0 or 1)

e.g. + picks up 2 elements (terms) and puts back 1 (the sum).

So if you have on the stack: 2,3
Doing + on the stack will pick up 2 and 3, and then put 5 back on the stack, so the stack looks like this: 5
  18. It looks like you haven't deleted the meta-inf folder from the craftbukkit.jar (server-side file, not client), the fact that you are getting a corrupt file when you say you try to delete the meta-inf is odd ? Are you using Winrar or something else (I'm assuming Windows here) ?
    - and by the wy, 1.52 will not fix the problem, since the issue is with your bukkit jar.

I don't think so, if you add mo creatures serverside, then anyone who wants to join the server will have to have the client-side files for mo creatures installed.
I've been running some tests, I am unable to connect with a client minecraft.jar that doesn't have the client-side files for mo creatures installed (and all the other necessary bits) - keep getting a string length error. Further, if you add mo creatures and fancypack, then the client HAS to have the client-side files for both those mods as well - otherwise, same thing.
So far, I've managed to get Creatures, Fancypack, and Slopes installed & working, but anyone wishing to connect to the server now MUST have the client-side files installed for these 3 mods, otherwise the client crashes.
It's not easy, but once you get it working, its well worth the effort, and great job by @asdaarg for providing such a plugin / mod. I'd love to see plasticcraft working on this, but I've seen the post about the problems :'(.

Why do you need to delete META-INF from craftbukkit?
  20. Like the client, its a security thing - if you mod the server, which in a way, you are, because you are starting 2 jar files, and the server thinks its been hacked, so it doesn't allow execution - if you delete the meta-inf file from bukkit, it works.
I'm not sure why this is the case, but I spent a little time finding this out because I didn't delete it myself until I re-read the post a couple of times - its not obvious, even though its plainly written in the initial post - people are so used to deleting the meta-inf from their client, it doesn't register that you need to delete it from the server jar to !

You don't need to delete it to use multiple jars, I suspected they are messing with the internals of bukkit, which they cant do as its sealed.
But need to developer to confirm, what he's doing as its very bad to do this, so if he needs some additional functionaility to be able to do it properly then its something I'd be willing to look at.

There are several mc classes that are modded, and I don't think it can be done any other way. I don't see why you think its necessarily bad, its just because of lack of functionality with bukkit that I have to do this.

Hi, since you are changing Bukkit files I'd like to request the source of (at minimal) those changes. The link in your first post does not result in finding the source :)
  24. Offline

The source is available. Basically summing up the changes I've made:
    1. Start IC before the world is loaded (otherwise new blocks will be gone in chunks that are loaded)
    2. made bukkit material dummy in block and item constructor (or other plugins will complain about it) It would be nice if Material could be changed but its an enum :p
    3. chunk provider generate events for generating custom trees and for fake modloader

how can I change the spawnrates for the mobs of mo creatures? Do I need to write those into the .ics file or create a new txt file or so?
Really don't want ogres and wraiths to spawn.

    Thanks in advance

I'm going all out postfix, its gotten too screwy with this mixed form parsing. Too many oddities to take into account. Lesson learnt. Postfix is always best. If people can't read it, its their problem.

I want the cool items but not Mo' Creatures. Do clients have to have this mod in order to play, period? Or can they still join but just not see stuff.

In Mo'Creatures there's just a saddle you can craft as far as I am considered and you can just install Kslopes and IcFancyPack and you got your "cool" items ;)
When you have installed Mo'Creatures all clients must have it installed themselves and all can see all^^

would it be possible to add support for the BUILDCRAFT client mod?
it creates new blocks like transport tubes and excavation machines

or the finitewater mod? (this one is quite laggy on the client)

If I just use KSlopes, does everyone need to download that mod as well in order to see the stuff on the server? Or do I just install it to the server, and anyone who joins can see all the cool new stuff?
