    ItemCraft is a Bukkit mod that allows adding new item and block types, crafting and furnace recipes, and custom tree generators and more. Using a Modloader and SettingsGUI interface it allows subplugins known as ICPlugins to be loaded to support client mods. ICPlugins can be created by translating a client mod using the ICTranslator ICplugin. Using a ModloaderMP interface (ported by krnlyng/liar) it allows porting multiplayer mods to bukkit.

    Installation & Usage:
    • Back up your world(s). Just in case.
    • ItemCraft.jar goes in same folder as craftbukkit
    • IC plugins go into ItemCraft/ICPlugins folder under craftbukkit. (folder is autocreated the first time)
    • uncomment (remove #) in front of all plugins you want to use in plugins.ics (autocreated in ItemCraft/ICScript)
    • Make sure you have the recommended version of craftbukkit in the title - since this is a mod of that version in particular.
    • Delete/rename the META-INF folder inside craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar (Use some decent zip program (e.g. 7zip) that can do it.)
    • All players on the server needs to have the client mods installed
    • If you use the 16 bit entity id packet mod (in case you use new entites (only ICMCreatures need it)), All players need (flan's unofficial) ModLoaderMP client mod
    • All players also need the 16 bit entity id packet mod (overwrites a ModLoaderMP's class so make sure ModLoaderMP is installed first) in case you use new entites (only ICMCreatures need it) If decide not to use the packet mod, you can turn it off putting this in your startup file: false setEntityIDPacketMod
    • Sometimes you get block/item ID conflicts, between plugins. You then need to set the conflicting ids in the startup script using setID command: example. They have to be set before the plugin that uses them is loaded. Note also that there is typically a props file on the clientside you have to edit the ids on to be the same as well.

      Suggestions of mods to port
      Vote here not in this thread anymore (it gets lost in all the other stuff)

      Reporting errors:
      • Read known issues - don't report those.
      • State the version of CB, ItemCraft and ICPlugin(s) you have problems with
      • If your client crashes, start the client from command line so that you get the error report.
      • Make sure the mod(s) works in SSP First before you report any errors here.
      • You are more likely to get a response if you describe the problem in more detail and do some testing yourself first of under what circumstances it occurs
      • Do not ask for uploads of minecraft.jar.
      • Do not pm me.
      • If you have problems installing, you are likely doing something wrong. Make sure you've followed the instructions exactly, read the FAQ and Wiki. If that doesn't work you can always ask in the thread, while I will likely not reply, there are others who can help you with your problem. But at least try to get it working yourself first.

    Thanks to a discovery by @Tuttu several blocks are "hard to break" when using Nandonalt's trees, furthermore he figured out its Scott's tools doing this changing the time to mine the blocks, but this is only done on the client side. So I have two options, either have Scott's tools ported or just mod nandonalt's trees to stop using those. I'm leaning toward the latter because I'm lazy. But of course if anyone is willing to volunteer porting Scott's tools, thats fine too.

    If there's more than one mod - ported or nominated for it - that uses ScotTools, I'd port it over proper. If not, so long as Nandonalt doesn't mind, write it into the ICPlugin. At least with the latter solution other mods like Mystic Ores that change tool behavior with new blocks will be compatible with each other.

    You may have enough free BlockIDs for everything it adds, but there are only 256 sprite templates on the terrain.png for blocks - so you'll actually run out of template spots before you do BlockIDs. I tried making a huge mod compilation for my SSP world and spent hours testing, shifting IDs etc. I had ZERO free BlockIDs, everything was configured perfectly. What it boiled down to was I needed Minecraft Extended to make it all work (as it adds enough spots for 1024 blocks), and two of the mods I absolutely wanted in the pack were not compatible with it. I'd love to see Minecraft Extended ported over, though that would be quite the endeavor (and setup help posts would wreak havoc on this thread).

    You should bring your Colored Glass mods over dude - those look seriously pretty. I could only imagine what a hi-res texture would look like on those. Things like this and Kaevator's wooden planks mods add so much personality to our creations.

    Actually, I just realized that I never installed ScotTools. The calls to scottool functions are surrounded with try catch clause that lets it ignore those if scottools isn't found. So yeah, basically, the workaround for now is to not install ScotTools.

    Hmm in the Mods im trying to update there are still many translation Bugs.
    One file from Reef that had only a few Errors last Time is now completly Red.
    Ill see what i can do, but it will take Time.
    In my Glassmod there are only a few Errors. What is strange is that Things that are ok in the Glassmod are showing up as Errors in other Mods.

    Make sure you've updated the libraries to point to the newest ItemCraft and Craftbukkit jars. And yeah, the mappings have more bugs than before but not that much more. Just a few more I had to fix than usual.

    Yes already did that. Used the same .jars for all Mods. I dont know whats wrong atm. There are definetly too much Errors. And weird ones. In Chiselmod the Word Chisel is completly replaced with BlockSand for example.
    But i used the newest mappings and reg from qwerty. And IC 1.6.3 + CB953. I dont get why my Glassmod is nearly Errorfree and other Mods have so many Errors. I used the same software for it.

    For example WorldGenReef. It was completly Errorfree last Time. And now it looks like this. :p

    Yeah there's something seriously wrong with the classmap. I just translated FancyPack and having classnames totally scrambled.
    Edit: Not entirely, just two cases now. I recall there was an issue with MCP, and it might be that's where the problem comes from.

    First things first, I just want to thank everybody here for their hard work! I've been following now for about fifty pages and hadn't signed up to say it yet, but thought now was as good a time as any.

    Everybody playing on my server has thoroughly enjoyed the additions these plugins give.
    Sadly, I've hit a problem - I've waited as 1.7.3 compatibility has come around, and now that both SuperSlopes and More Trees have been ported I decided to update with them (making use of the test servers), seeing as those two as well as Mo Creatures are the three I stick with throughout - however, More Trees is giving me grief.

    Basically, I think this problem has been mentioned earlier but not explicitly followed up - the server will load both slopes and trees without problem. When I try to log in, however, I get into the world and the client freezes and crashes almost instantly.

    Digging through the client-side modloader log I think that it simply isn't loading the More Trees mod - it mentions loading the slopes ZIP and the planes mod, but even when the trees ZIP is in the 'mods' folder, it doesn't register it - and adjusting the ModLoader.cfg to include 'mod_moretrees=on' doesn't make any difference.

    Have I made a schoolboy error somewhere that I'm just not seeing?

    My GlassMod loads fine and i can connect, but theres still the Issue with the bugged damage values.
    Everytime i place a Block the texture changes.

    I'm trying to port the Allocator (, but I've 2 problems:

    1. I can't get the GUI to work:
    ModLoader.OpenGUI(entityplayer, new GuiAllocator(entityplayer.inventory/*inventory*/, tileentityallocator));
    That's the translated line, but I don't know how to change it, so it work with ItemCraft.

    2. The direction of the Allocators is different with every login (maybe same problem as the horses from ICMCreatures?).

    I hope someone can help me :)

    ICFancyPack Updated for 1.7.3
    Not tested because I have problems getting it work on the client. But it loads on the server without errors.

    You'll have to use the ModLoaderMP version for the GUI, or you could try the one built into ItemCraft in the GUI class. No idea if that works now though, @QwertyPower did update it though. You can use datawatchers to synchronize the variables for the client. See Entitywolf for example. ModloaderMP might have a way of doing it too, but I have not checked. You may want to look into how the planes mod does it.

    One file from qwerty is called this:
    But mcp43 is the newest Version. Maybe thats the Error?
    And whats up with the damage Values? All Mods with damage values behave strange for me since ModLoederMP was added. Tried it with a Backup of my Server with the 1.6 Version. And all Blocks with values like Slopes disappeared or changed. So i cant use it at all until this is solved.
    Am i the only one with this Problem?

    ok please explain as not to sure i put 3 files that was in optionl in fancy pack on my client side and i can now place a rose in potted plant but it go away after few seconds other than that all working well ty for any help if possible and by the way it not said enough here great work you are doing for us mere mortals

    Lol that is a good question, I have silently been looking over this thread to see what is going on while we wait for the bukkit server to update. I see that the Itemcraft server is up to date. But then I also saw some where that the recent mappings that were uploaded were doing something weird with the method names. Also, if someone has ICTranslator going, and can translate the Better than wolves mod, and then post the files that ICTranslator makes then I shall try and finish the rest.

    But all I can say for now is I'm working on setting up the Itemcraft server very slowly and then right after that I will try and translate it. Kind of in a minecraft slump (meaning I'm sorta bored with it for the time being) so things will go fairly slow.

    First, I apologize for my English, I'm French but I'm going to explain my problem I('m not good to improvise and solve my problem)

    I have a server on my personal pc and I can not get my run.bat to launch properly Bukkit and itemcraft same time.

    So for information i have :

    - Build # 953
    - Version 1.7.3 for itemcraft
    - Windows 7 pro 64bit

    My run.bat to start my server is currently:

    SET BINDIR=%~dp0
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe" -Xincgc -Xmx1G -jar "%BINDIR%\craftbukkit-0.0.1-snapshot.jar"

    The run.bat given here does not work for me! (I put it as such in the file. Bat)

    Well I've got a mostly working BetterStainedGlass ICPlugin
    Everything can be crafted and placed, drops are correct but I've still got a few bugs that are getting the better of me.

    Smelting colored sand and cobblestone yield glass and stone, but the subtype value resets to 0
    The original mod used a "furnace hack" to fix this but I don't know if it can be done in ItemCraft

    The other issue is with colored sand when it falls.
    [SEVERE] java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Don't know how to add class net.minecraft.server.EntityColoredSand!
    I have no clue how to fix that one.

    FancyPack shelves work, in SSP at least, as a storage container. You right-click the empty shelf, put one book inside, and it becomes a bookcase. BigBrother plans to add additional textures to use with it such as placing a bowl in the shelf and it displaying dishes, etc. I don't know if the custom GUI issue was smoothed out with ItemCraft but that's how it'd work - right-click, place book, voila - bookshelf.

    From the interviews I've read he always says he tries not to allow the mod community to influence his game vision and design too much - that's where the Mod API was supposed to come in. Adding support for more blocks would make more sense to include in the core game, but then again that might not be what he originally had in mind. Honestly, though it seems like common sense to put it into the game proper, I'm just speculating. He did it with the lighting engine.. why not Minecraft Extended?

    getting an error in the server

    Alrighty, I decided to build a test server and see how this works out. Been watching this thread and all the errors so I was expecting the worst... Actually everything runs like a champ! I see all my lovely slopes, and nifty things added in with the slopes mod. I decided to be adventures and add the Flan's Plan mod to my server. I tested it in single player with success so I installed it on the server. it seems to work... but after adding the items to make a new plan type item in the crafting bench it appears for 5 seconds and then disappears... so yeah I guess I screwed up somewhere. I looked at the logs and no errors... its late, and I am stumped... any thoughts?

    Itemcraft 1.7.3
    Flan's plan mod 1.7.3
    latest modloader+mp+audiomod+gary's something... whatever I installed them all :)
    + mods for client side and they have all been tested working
