    Some simple elevator action. It's only called bLift because bElevator sounds weird.
    If y'all like it, I'll add more features like multiple floors and being able to put torches in your elevators!

    Simple 2-floor elevator:

    Multi-floor elevator:
    _____BOTTOM FLOOR________MIDDLE FLOORS_________TOP FLOOR______

    You can get fancy with it:

    Video: (NOTE: gold blocks are no longer required)

    • simple up-down elevators
    To use a simple 2 floor elevator, press the button to move between the floors.
    To make a 2 floor elevator up only, remove the button in the top floor.
    To make a 2 floor elevator down only, remove the button in the bottom floor.

    To use a multi-floor elevator, first initiate the signs by right clicking any one of them (this only needs to be done once).
    The top number is the current floor. The bottom number is the destination. You may fill in the other two lines with anything if you like.
    Right click the sign until the bottom number says the floor number you want to go to.
    Then press the button to go to that floor.

    [air] = air
    [iron] = iron block
    [glass] = glass
    [brownmushroom] = button
    [wood] = sign

    Simple 2 floor elevator format:
    [air] \
    [air] (any height)
    [air] /

    Multifloor elevator format:
    [air] \
    [air] (any height)
    [air] /
    [air] \
    [air] (any height)
    [air] /

    • Now goes up to level 256!
    • Floors can now be smaller (one floor's ceiling can be another floor's bottom)
    • Added command: /blift [floors OR ends] [material] (uses permission "blift")
    • Hopefully fixed a couple of glass disappearing problems
    • Added multi-floor elevators
    • Fixed glass disappearing
    • Removed gold block requirement
    • Initial release!

    Haha that's true, I came across this while testing. Maybe I'll try that out!

    ...are you clicking it? I mean it could be anything, like your firewall or your network or your browser or your antivirus or... anything. Here's the URL it points to:
    Send me a private message if you still can't get it.

    This messes up my buy/sell/warp/etc.. signs from essentials and would want to know if theres anything you could do to fix this? thanks. BTW like people have said before, it puts a 1 on the last line and causes errors.

    What version of the plugin are you using?

    It appears when i try to go up on a elevator, the glass block doesn't remove in time, thus bumping my head, remaining on the first floor and all glass blocks deleted..

    nevermind, the problem was that the signs said 1 over 1, so it was bringing me to 1, you should make it so the destination cannot be current floor.

    I found the bug: Its works on the default world but not on multi-worlds :(
  8. Offline

    you should slow it down..
  9. Offline

    hey on the multi elevator what is the max number it goes up to

    will it ever be possible to have bigger size elevators or will it always have to be a single block?

    Hi great plugin but a few minor of issues;
    1. This plugin can trigger any sign on the map to change its last line to a number. (Happens all the time if you use magic carpet plugin.) We made a tutorial island with hundreds of signs and it ruined all of them :(
    2. We seem to loose one health block when you go down the lift.
    3. Chat messages only show when using a two-floor lift. Multi-floor lifts don't display chat messages.

    Would be nice if you added some form of iConomy payment to use the lift also. Thanks

    EDIT: Using CraftBukkit 953 with bLift 1.1.1. There are no error messages in the console, it just renames other signs randomly.

    Amazing pluggin, works perfectly.

    When doing the 3+ floor version using signs, it works when each floor does NOT share glass blocks, but when each floor is only 4 blocks high you have no choice but to share glass blocks between floors and then it doesn't work. Any possibility of updating to address this?

    Great plugin otherwise, it's an awesome mechanic and easy to setup. :)

    This is a good plug-in but have you seen this one by Cybran called Elevators you can build cabins and automatic doors any size that actually move up and down with you, nice work though.

    Excellent plugin, the only problem I am having is losing health for a split second when going down the lift. It's like the glass reappears to early.
  20. Im using version 1.1 from the dl link :)
    Problem is im using a multifloor elevator, and i've tried to make it a simple top to bottom elevator, if i go from the top to bottom, it will completly remove the glass block under me, then slam me down to the next floor, and have me keep being pushed downwards untill i basically move to a ladder so it will push me down that at least, then when i get to the bottom floor via ladder push, i can touch the metal block and actually move up again..

    also i take a half a heart of dmg when it happens.

    Same applies when i try to move up.

    Bukkit version is 953.

    EDIT: It also seems that the signs isnt working as they should apparently.. I can get the mod to type 1 on the second line, but i cant get it to enter the destination :|

    Also my elevator is a 11 floor multivator... not sure if there is a max.

    hey mate, just an idea. Maybe put in some way to name floors instead of using numbers? idk if its viable or not but would be interesting to say the least.
  22. Offline

    Well, this is interesting. If you make a simple two-floor lift, whenever you go down the lift, the glass reappears too quickly and you take damage from the short suffocation. If you make a multi-lift design, however, even if you use two floors, the lift works perfectly, both going up and going down.

    when i first got this plugin, the elevator up was very smooth, but now its really choppy and slows down and speeds up randomly. im using craftbukkit version 1000 and plugin version 1.1.1.

    <- use it since 1.0. No problems. great plugin. thanks.

    (1 problem ;) Some signs (From Craftbook) get numbers on 4th Line... )

    This plugin was working perfectly in every way until I added the iConomyChestShop plugin. Now, creating 3+ floor elevators does not work. However, existing 3+ floor elevators remain functional. When you attempt to initiate an elevator sign (regardless of which one), the floor number appears on all but the top floor and nothing appears for the destination. Nothing happens if you attempt to right click any of the signs or use any buttons after the failed attempt to initiate. No errors appear in console for any of this. Is there any way to make these 2 plugins coexist?

    I love this plugin but the only thing that is geting me to remove it is the hight you need the elevator to be. All my buildings are 3 blocks of air and 1 block of ceiling where the elevator is 3 blocks of air and 2 blocks of ceiling. Is there a way to make it just 1 glass block. Like make a config file for some people. Other then that i love this plugin.

    Any chance of having bigger floors? Many of my users think 1x1 feels claustrophobic and bigger elevators could allow for more intricate designs.
  31. Offline

    You can make bigger elevators already. My elevators tend to be bigger than 1x1 because multiple people use the elevators at the same time. By making the elevator 2x1, 3x1, 2x2, etc more people can use them without issue. Just make more than one elevator packed together and you have your bigger elevator. My personal preference is a 2x2 with the buttons and signs on the left and right sides with glass as the back for a nice view of the outside while you go up and down.
