Whats MC Buddy Finder?​

MC Buddy finder is an application​

This update fixes the internal avatar system
it is now case sensitive and also load up skins from people with case sensitive names
you will have to readd people with case sensitive names again.

It's not against virusses, it's for account-taking code and stuff.

this program will scan the server u enter and notify you when a player on the list u made has come online

this is not ment as a stalking tool..

I assume it doesn't send the username you enter in plain text, but irreversible hashed?

 

Pretty cool. It would be cool if it could display all the players online. Then you could just put your friends in a group, and only receive notifications for them. That would be very nice.

EDIT: Also, are you Dutch?

 

Why would it send usernames as an irreversible hash...? You don't want people knowing your username?

yes i am dutch
and that access denied is because its a free domain name extention. u can trust the page ur visiting its media wiki script

that suggestion looks good. but i cant make it like that i can take a look into showing the players head in the list

and people do not hack my applications script please you do not have to enter a username that exists its just to track how much its used not for privacy hacking or anything like that.
spamming my scripts is not nice and is hacking as i can see wich is illigal in any way u can think of
if you dont trust my app leave it. do not hack my app for fun to overload my scripts with fake information

 

You just do it. Anything you send based on personal/user data, is hashed or encrypted in some way. Nobody needs access, nobody should have access. actually a key could be made completely random, without any user input at all. Privacy policies etc. And yes, a username isn't that special. Link up some other stats which are gathered automaticly (e.g. IP address and browser, Os, ... are automaticly sent if you visit a site) and you have a nice tracker for persons who use their reallife name as username. I know mmuziek isn't doing this, but it's for these reasons you should secure it. It avoids any discussion, and shows that you care about the privacy of other people / users. encrypt it and yes, you can still link the key to the IP if you want, but the key is meaningless, it can't (this is proven) be turned into data with a meaning again.

I'm going to stop discussing about this, but you get the point. It doesn't matter what data, if users are willingly to give you data by using a program, then you have to take care of this data. It's <10 lines of code to encrypt something.

(don't get me wrong - I'm not suggesting you are misusing this data - but anyone can or could - And yes, I can stop using it if I don't like it, but it's a nice gesture to the other users)

it's a nice tool , but you could try to connect directly to the minecraft servers without using your server. It'll probably unload your server a lot. I'd also try to give people the option to just extract the app from a zip folder and run it. (it's possible, just build in release mode, or remove the .deploy extension from all files)

Hey everyone I updated the program it now uses an internal webserver provided by usbwebserver. or you can use your own webserver to host the scanning script.

my software does not send any data to any webserver anymore!
but please comment and say what you think

Yeeey reworked the interface to look more nice.
added a group title that changes to show howmany in that group are online

Is this open source or reviewed. I don't know if bukkit dev allows this, but I think more people would find it and be willing to use it if it was.

 

if im correct bukkitdev is only for plugins and server mods this is a standalone program running on windows not written in java but visual basic idk if bukkitdev supports this software
