    Hello,
Recently, my server was experiencing a weird error where playerdata did not save. For example, if I log on, and lets say all the items that are in my inventory, I put them in a chest, and log off. Then when I come back on, I'm not at the last location I logged off at, but rather the location I first logged in at. And all my items in my inventory are still there. Then I go up to the chest, and my items are also still there. I knew that players would be able to duplicate items with this, so I told everyone to log off and I stopped the server with /stop. I then tried to log into the server panel, and to my surprise the mutlicraft panel displayed "Error 500." I then contacted my server host, and within 24 hours the issue was fixed. However, just to be sure, I backed up my world and plugin files using FileZilla, and put them onto my desktop from the remote server location. I have always used FileZilla and I frequently exchange and add/remove files this safe way. Once they fixed my server panel, I logged into Multicraft and started up my server. To my suprise, I got error messages from ServerSigns, and Towny saying it was locked in safe mode and could not read some corrupt files. I had been getting these Towny safe mode errors actually a lot, usually after I started up my server. I then got onto the Towny website and followed the troubleshoot instructions. I eventually restored all the corrupt files. I am going to list all the problems from each individual plugin. The strange part is that when I made the backups of the server, those were also missing the same things/had the same corrupt files as the actual server file. The way I restored Towny was getting the files from the Towny made backups.

I want to know how to fix these problems, and how to prevent them from happening in the future.

I then booted up my server, and multiple problems arised. (Towny problems) #1, I was not in my town anymore, #2, when I did /t list and /n list a lot of nations had 0 towns and 0 residents. So I used the townyadmin commands, added me back to my town. Players started coming on again, some were not in there towns, I used the commands, added them, and pretty much for that, it was ok. However sometimes when I added players who owned nations back to their towns, they weren't the nation leader, but the town leader, for example, if I do /nation Vekta (which is a nation who was affected),

    It displays the:

    Bank: $500 : Daily Upkeep 1.0
Towns: [1] City of Vekta City (Sprawling Metropolis)

    It doesn't display the:
    Nation leader
Capital City (I have it set to that the capitals of nations have (Capital) as their suffix.), even though Vekta City is the only town in Vekta

    But if I do /t Vekta_City

Everything is fine and normal there, and it displays everything normally.

    However, some other issues arrise:

There is one plot in Vekta City which in Towny map, it appears as unclaimed, however when you walk into it it does not say "Wilderness". If the leader of Vekta City tries to claim that land, it says "This area is already claimed." However if an outsider tries to come inside, he/she can break and destroy inside that "unclaimed" plot even though they cannot break in the other parts of the "claimed city"

This is the error log when someone goes near the broken plot: (from down to up)

This what Towny displays on the "debug" when the mayor of Vekta_City tries to claim the plot: (from down to up)

So for as far as Towny goes, the current problems I have recognized are
    1) Players not being a part of their town
    2) After leaders of nations are re-invited to their towns and set as the mayor, and are put back into the nation, they are still not crowned "King", nor is anybody else
    3) Some plots not being "claimed as part of the town"

The fixes I have found for these issues are
    1) Using /townyadmin and re-adding them
    2) N/A (don't know)
    3) N/A (don't know)

For issues 2 and 3, I don't have a solution. Can somebody please help me.

For Essentials, I have had one problem:
    1) The userdata folder lacks information for each player, so money, and homes were reset, along with other Essentials data.
    1) I luckily had a backup from March of Essentials data. This problem has been fixed. However I still need to identify the problem that caused all of this.
For the plugin, ServerSigns, the plugin commands "work" however it displays that the information for each sign is corrupt. Whenever I also try to add a command onto a new sign, that still doesnt work.
    1) ServerSigns don't execute commands, nor can I make new signs
    For the fixes.
    1) N/A, (don't know) however I assume that I can either reload from backup or clear the folder with the corrupt files and start over.
    For the World problems/Achievements/Statistics:
Some areas of the world are corrupt, for example this error log: (down to up)
03.08 10:44:08 [Server] INFO [10:44:08 WARN]: Entity is at 5384.5,3204.5 (chunk 336,200) but was stored in chunk 347,195

    03.08 10:44:08 [Server] INFO [10:44:08 WARN]: Wrong location for EntityCow['Cow'/1871894, l='world', x=5385.50, y=71.00, z=3205.50] in world 'world'!
03.08 10:44:08 [Server] INFO [10:44:08 WARN]: Entity is at 5385.5,3204.5 (chunk 336,200) but was stored in chunk 347,195

And also acheivements and statistics are reset, which isn't really that big of a problem
So for the world, the problems are:
    1) Chunk corruption)
    2) Stats/Achievements reset
The fixes I know/have in mind are
    1) N/A (Use WorldEdit to "stitch the chunks back together", or regenerate the terrain. If you know a plugin that fixes this also, please leave a link)
    2) N/A (not that big of a problem)
Once again, I want to know how to fix these problems, and also what caused these problems. Can copying a file go wrong? Could that be the issue? Could the copying have been what corrupted the files? I assume this is likely what happened since the backup I made also had the corrupt data, even though before I stopped the server, everything was fine except for the playerdata glitch. Could it have been the Multicraft panel displaying Error 500? Please let me know why these problems occurued, if you have any knowledge of that.
If more problems arise, I will be posting a reply to this thread

It kind of sounds like your host hard drive had some kind of failure, not much I can suggest other than loading local backups.
