Hello, my problem for today is long world saving (main world) while server stopping, look at logs:

    Code:
    2013-02-02 20:01:17 [INFO] [HideStream] v1.04 Unloaded succesfully.
    2013-02-02 20:01:17 [INFO] Saving players
    2013-02-02 20:01:17 [INFO] Saving worlds
2013-02-02 20:01:17 [INFO] Closing listening thread
2013-02-02 20:01:17 [INFO] Saving chunks for level 'world'/Overworld
2013-02-02 20:01:17 [INFO] Read timed out
2013-02-02 20:03:36 [INFO] Saving chunks for level 'world_nether'/Nether
And then other worlds saving normally and server stops but its isnt normall than one world saving 3 minutes.

    World size:

    21M world/region
    472K world/data
    131M world/players (31924 files)
    151M world

    MCEdit Look:
    Number of chunks: 2125
    736L x 768W x 256H

So what can I do to prevent that?
Is that fault of too much files of players data? If yes, that how can i remove only that files which hasnt been in use since month or something?

wait 12-24 HOURS be for bump. and if you have 2,00+ chunks it going to take some thimg to save. If you are backing it up to the harddrive it will take a long time.

Sure im know about it but it took too long i think, its isnt normall.
Btw is there any way to remove inactive users from map? Who hasnt logged in for long time?

I would defrag the hard drive (if you use windows... dont do this if you use linux). Longer saves, especially on an active server, are not that uncommon. Do you know when the long saves started happening?

And, as for removing inactive users... PEX has a dump command you can use (/pex dump) which will trim out any user files which are older than the age you feed it. I am unsure what the command is for other perms addons, but I'm quite sure they have a similar feature too.

I think but im not sure that the reason of that was MineBackup, i saw post on forum that someone write that he has same issue with chunks that wont unload while users are not online on world and it probably fixed the issue.

But i was asking how can i remove inactive users from world/players folder not from pex file

    Btw. Im using Linux Debian

I dont recommend MineBackup very much. It slowed down my server, and was a major RAM user. I recommend removing it and seeing if it effects anything

Gotcha, I am not sure if PEX does this step as well. I usually just delete files older than a certain date when i clear out the .dat files for the players in the world folders but this does not always get rid of ALL the old ones.

Their size is quite negligible at least, so leaving them is actually not a problem in the least.

I removed that plugin so its ok now, but sill I wanna remove old .dat files from world/players and you are right its easy to remove files that hasn't been in use for x days but idk why only 2440 from 33437 .dat files was modifed at normall date, rest of them 30997 was modifed at 2013-02-01 03:53:53.

But its impossible, that 30997 players were on server on same time, so may i think that these files are old and inactive? And i can remove them?

    @EDIT

Ok i checked that and some of players which files was edited at 2013-02-01 03:53:53 arent login for months but also for few days, so...
