Well, searching about a good mod/plugin/whatever here and there, I found a guy who made the most amazing shit I have seen in my life. Before explaining, look: http://www.modsforminecraft.com/archives/157 I think someone who knows more should contact him and ask if he is going to make it for 1.0/1.0.1, because all potionfags around here WILL love it. I made this thread only to make him more known, because he deserved it, and if someone wants to ask him to do it on 1.x or more versions of minecraft, because... Well, you see it. Oh, and sorry if my english is bad ^^U Ninjaedit: Oh, and how could I install it on a multiplayer server?
This is the plugin request section, it's for PLUGINS, that is a singleplayer, not updated mod... And you can't make it multiplayer.
Heeeeeyyyyy~~~~ Don't bite me, relax! Tell me then where the mod sect- oh, wait, THERE ISN'T ANY. I just came here to know about interesting things that can be done with that and constructive answers. Anyway, yours is helpful, so thanks. And well. What do I need to make a mod to work in multiplayer? Or it is completely impossible with and/or without the source code?
All you have to do is use your brain, and read a little, it's not too hard to do, really. I'll give you a place to start <3 http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/read-first-what-can-plugins-do.22780/
Here, I'll not be a dick and tell you... Basically it's impossible because the client's code would need editing to support any new items/blocks/items etc, so you would require a plugin AND a client mod, which would almost certainly put 99% of potential users off using it. Hope this answered your question
Yeah, it answered it. Thank you very much. I've been lucky to find a noob helper (a guy who helps noobs, not a noob who tries to help ), because it doesn't happen every day xD And another question: If I'm not wrong, it would be like a vanilla update, so if you want to update and play X version on a multiplayer server, you have to make another version to work with multiplayer in addition with the one that each user must have, right?
If you are talking about 'it' being a mod that matches the description of what you asked for in your original post, then that would not be new version of Minecraft, it would simply be a modified version of the current one. If you are talking about 'it' being a plugin, then that's the great thing about Bukkit. Basically, when you install Bukkit into your Minecraft server, it opens up your server to an endless list of new features, all stored on this website. You can find all of these features (plugins) here as well. The way you know if they work with the current version of Minecraft is simple: Bukkit updates their software to work with Minecraft, and the people who make the plugins for Bukkit update so that they work for your server. All you have to do is make sure you have the newest version of Bukkit, and that all the plugins you download are made for that version, and everything will work. In other words, you don't have to make a version of Minecraft for players to join, all you have to do is make sure everything you put in your server is up to date.
And if I've got bukkit in my minecraft, can I put mods and still have plugins, or I must choose plugins-bukkit/mods-vanilla? Sorry for being a little dumb, but I like knowing these things ^^U Edit: I'd like to know how could I make the mod previously mentioned work in multiplayer. If I can't I would like to know why
