Hey, I run and admin on a few minecraft themepark servers (a type of server that isnt all that heard-of yet) and I was wondering if someone could create a plugin that allowed a cart to take pictures. For example when a minecart goes over a detector rail it would take a screenshot of the player (or even just register the players head/skin) and display it on a selected item frame. I am terrible at coding and wouldn't know where to begin. If you could help me and a few other people that I know that are also longing for this plugin I would be extremely grateful! Perhaps the plugin could be usable by a sign under the detector rail with [Picture] on the first line and maybe the cords of the item frame to display it in on the next? I know a way to do this. Link 1 detector rail with 4 item frames, or however many you want to display. When a minecart rolls over the detector rail. get the player and place a head in the 1st item frame to be emtpy. If they are all empty, replace the 1st one.
You can use a plugin such as Pixelator or FramePicture for the display image, I am not entirely sure how you would do the screenshot ability, and then hook it up with redstone and rails.
Yeah but it needs to be auto, so that a player can view their photo without anyone around. Traincart and wireless redstone compatibility would be good too~ EDIT by Moderator: merged posts, please use the edit button instead of double posting.
I don't know how you can possible use that either. Traincarts: it is a cart anyways, wireless redstone: isn't the block being registered?
Traincart is a plugin that can link carts, creating trains. If the train went over a detector rail without traincart combatibility it would probably only get the person in the back of the train as thats the last cart to go over the rail, traincart compatibility would capture EVERYONE in the train (all of the carts) and display each of their heads on separate item frames. Wireless redstone is a very popular plugin that removes redstone circuits making it much simpler. I cant explain it very well but I recommend you look it up! Also, the method you suggested wasnt what I was looking for. I want a specific player skin head not just a normal steve head. Yeah it is but it needs multiple cart support for traincart and the someone suggested linking the detector rail and an item frame, the wireless redstone compatibility was in response to that EDIT by Moderator: merged posts, please use the edit button instead of double posting.
Or just multiple frames where the oldest gets replaced with a new picture if a cart goes over the rail. No need to hook into traincarts for that
timtower exactly as i said. And you can't link redstone with item frames etc.. That was for developers.
Couldn't you get the player that is in the cart and then get that and transfer the player head to an item frame that is assigned by a command like a thing where you select a rail and a item frame with a world edit selection or something and then they are linked together after you had typed a command to link them togather? i am no pro developer or anything so this properly isn't much help..
TGMGamingzz1 Getting the players image isn't the hard part. The hard part is putting it on the item frame. ( this is my opinion )
Could you guys not just do it where you use a plugin like framepicture to set a picture and just set a players skull with a plugin?
I am no plugin developer really and i dont think that would work because frame picture sets a picture through a URL and not a block in game. timtower Could you have a go at making this plugin or are you to busy to or you dont know how to make it?
Really easy to do, working on this now. Ok ive done the plugin and some research, ive done everything you've requested except for the fact that you cant put the actual block head into the item frame, only entity items therefore it will only show up like this: However i can place just the regular block if you want. Just the regular block would be better, that way it varies. And also would it be possible to toggle the hologram tag in a config or something?
Create a map, and set its renderer to draw a custom image from http://www.minecraft-api.com/v1/avatar/?player=playerName&size=128&helmet=true. Then put the map in the itemframe
Cheers bobacadodl, fantastic idea, going to do that now. Its not a hologram tag, that's default minecraft (client side) item frame titles. EDIT by Moderator: merged posts, please use the edit button instead of double posting.
