Initial spawn point for new players

    Hi All,

    I need some help!

    I'm setting up a new minecraft server ( for my son and I am having problems with the spawnpoint location for new players after they register.

    I have the following plugin's installed: AuthME/Essentials(CORE/Spawn/Protect/Chat)/WorldGuard/WorldEdit/GroupManager/Factions/Chestshop/Orebfuscator/LogBlock

    Server is running 1.1 R3 with all plugins at the latest version.

    I want to have newly registered players spawn in a particular building with all the rules on signs so they read them all. At the moment the seem to spawn randomly around the location where i have /setspawn. it's like it's in a radius of the block i was standing on when /setspawn was run?!?!

    I've tried to add some of the other intial login type spawn plugins with no luck (ones that check for a player.dat file). I've also spent a fair bit of time looking around on the forums here and google searches to find a fix :(

    All I want is for a new player to register on the server (with Authme) and then start on the /setspawn location.

    Using the /spawn command in game takes me to the block where /setspawn was done.

    Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    setspawn is ran by Essentials. You are able to set different spawn points for different groups like so:
    /setspawn <groupname>
    But as for tying that in with AuthMe im not to sure on... Im not to familier with it.. Sorry =/

    So, tell me if I'm wrong, AuthMe isn't starting players on the spawnpoint? AuthMe usually starts the player off on the spawn, and once you register it doesn't tp you or anything, it just lets you walk away, whereas with logging in it teleports you to your last location.

    Thanks for your reply. Yeah i figured that, it creates a spawn for the 'default' group which is the group players start in, and it also works when a player types /spawn.

    Just does not work after initial registration.

    Never had this problem on my friend's server. IMPORTANT QUESTION: Are you making a 'cracked' server?

    Authme seems to be spawning newly registered players randomly within a 8 block radius(guess). There is an option in authme: 'teleportUnAuthedToSpawn' and if set to true it will teleport the user to the block set with /setspawn while they login or register, if their just logging in it puts them at /setspawn then teleports them to the last location after login, if there a new player registering, it puts them at /setspawn at first then moves them to some random spot nearby after they register.

    I guess I should try taking out the authme plugin for a test and see what happens for new players. Just a little hard atm as I have ppl on it most of the time.

    There must be others out there with the same problem I expect.....

    Oh! Quite simple. In bukkit.yml there's something called "spawn-radius" or something like that. Change that to 0, I believe. If I'm wrong, somebody speak up now :)

    I don't think that's it. I've read somewhere that's the radius around the spawn point that's protected, ie unbreakable.....

    yeah - thought so ->

    It is set to cracked at the moment while I'm testing permissions/protections with a few different login's etc.... I didn't think that would be something causing this..... ???? or are you referring to something else I should be concerned about?

    Ok - i just noticed 1.1-R4 was released, doh, any way, I've just updated the server and registered 5 new account in which they all spawned exactly on the /setspawn location after registration!

    There was one spawn related bug listed in the release notes for R4, but it didn't seem relevant, i'm guessing it was.......

    I will see how things go over the next couple of days though and update the post title to SOLVED if all is good.

    KaiBB - if you can comment on your IMPORTANT Q that would be great. Cheers everyone.

    I mean, only make it cracked if you must. If you don't need a cracked server, just eliminate AuthMe. As for spawn-radius, sometimes it bugs out and spawns you somewhere else inside the radius.

    So I'm having the same problem, with players, once registered or have entered the password, get teleported to a different location close to spawn, either above the building or behind it. I have updated to the latest version of CraftBukkit, and the essentials and AuthMe plugins are updated to the latest version.
    Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Is that really so relevant? @your_later_post What if someone who has an account cracker happens to be on the server? It is possible. Also, stop replying to posts when you have no clue (or barely any clue) what you or the other poster is talking about.

    Seeing as the topic title still isn't "SOLVED" go to this link and wait for it to redirect you to my post. These people had the same problem.

    Congrats! This and another similar topic on bukkit forums are in the top 2 results on google for the question: "how do i control the spawnpoint for new players on bukkit"
