RaddaMap - Map your players in the real world!
    Version: v0.3c

    Download:
    http://www.raddafiskie.com/RaddaMap.jar

    make maps like this:

    How to install?
Put the plugin in your /plugins folder.

How do I configure the plugin?
    There is nothing to configure.
Optional: Add "raddamap.hide" Permissions node to hide players from the map (If you have Permissions)

    Where to find your maps?
    When in game, type /raddamap
You will be given two web site addresses.
The first is the address to show locations of your online players.
The second is the address to show locations of ALL your players.

    How does it work?
The plugin is very lightweight, all the work is done on my webserver and database server.
This is why there are ads on the pages.

    Live Example:
    online players : http://www.raddafiskie.com/raddamap/mapon?id=3
    all players: http://www.raddafiskie.com/raddamap/mapoff?id=3

    Changelog:
    v0.3c - corrected bugs in v0.3b
    v0.3b - corrected bugs in v0.3
v0.3 - fixed servers sharing maps that host on the same IP address
v0.2 - added "raddamap.hide" Permissions option - to hide a player from the map
    v0.1 - Initial Release

    Todo:
    - Make switching between online/offline maps an option on the map itself
    - Create heavyweight version of plugin (ad-free)
    - Display overall player counts
    - Allow servers with dynamic IPs (changing IPs) to retain their maps between IP changes

    Uses:
    Character image generator @author billiam @version 0.1

Thanks, added the header and changelog to the post.

No, you don't need consent, unless the locations shown are specific addresses given by the users, not general addresses derived from public information (IP).

    Thanks and Thank you!

    Found an issue:
Multiple servers hosted from the same IP address are sharing the same maps.
I will fix this in the next release. (so far I only see servers from servercraft.co with this issue)

    for fun:
a map of the servers using the plugin:

how accurate is it, cause i asked my server peeps about it and they said it sounds like a stalker tool

It's fairly accurate (can usually resolve to city/state).
But, I don't know how someone can stalk you just knowing your location and your minecraft name, would be tough.

    maybe ;-)

Was NOT fixed in v0.3b, please download version v0.3c

I'll be adding it as an option on the map soon.

When all the bugs are worked out... v1.0 will have a lightweight version and a heavyweight version

lightweight = my server does everything, but there are ads
heavyweight = no ads, but your server must support MySql, webserver (php compliant), and optionally a geolocation service (will be preconfigured with a free geolocation service, which is less accurate)

So your not thinking about removing your crappy advertisements?
Also, ahahah! Your Google Adsense account got suspended against their ToS.
    Good luck with AdBrite.

This seems rather like an invasion of privacy, to have locations openly displayed.

Why are you being such a hypocrite about ads?

    If (your location shows up on this map && you were not aware of privacy issues && you're trying to remain anonymous on the internet) {
    proxy.install();
    }

    Actually, if you want try:

    http://www.torproject.org/

Think you could run Minecraft and anything you want and remain fairly anonymous.

    Heh, nice.

Still, people shouldn't need to run the game through a proxy (Hello? Lag!) to stop people from figuring out where you live. I know you it's still possible just from the IP, but still. Perhaps some form of warning when you connect to a server? Say, a warning, then thirty seconds to disconnect if you're uncomfortable with it.

There are many other plugins that show your state/city/country via /whois and other commands. I don't think it's any different, except I put you on a map.

tested on 938, 948, & 950... seems to work fine.

I've set the webpage that displays all offline players to 'group' markers by default, until I figure out how to toggle it on/off.

I don't mind having my location revealed, it annoys me more with those plugins that give you the IP of other players. With an IP you can for example crack the computer or DDoS / DoS the person behind the IP. Anyways, I guess this plugin uses the IP, but it doesn't reveal it am I rite?...
If it's tracking the player via. IP, in most cases it doesn't reveal your EXACT location. Also, using a proxy wont help you much either. Most proxies are browser based, meaning, it hides your IP while surfing in a browser, but not in the minecraft client. Then you would need to use a VPN. Which causes slower network in most cases, making minecraft nearly unplayable online, so the best solution is to simply not use either :p Just thought I should throw some facts in.

You're completely correct. Although some proxies can be used to tunnel stuff such as Minecraft.

    - Raddafiskie

(EDIT: player IPs are never revealed, just your approximate location)
