A note to Online-tracking!

You all noticed, that i shifted the score of your players to my website...
To enable this, i have to make a connection to my Server, so i can sync your Server with it! I have no access to any data except the things collected by my plugin! To prevent fraud, i will silently track your Servers IP-Address, so i can remove servers that are cheating! I will not make this Address public to anyone and I will discuss this matter with everyone, who is concerned about his privacy!

If you dislike this change, go ahead and download my 1.1.0 Release and you have the last offline-version of my plugin.

This change is the first one in a series of bigger changes! I stated, that i want this plugin to be more a stats/ranks-plugin than simple counting of blocks. Your rank is now server-independent! And i will track more things like, kills, deaths, distance walked, exp collected, objects crafted, drops collected etc. I think, there are many things worth counted. And server-owners can give People rewards/permissions based on how high their rank is.

Overview:

For every Block you break, you will get some Exp.
you can view your broken Blocks with "/ranks".
All data is stored online on my website and gets synced with your server!
Edit the text displayed in the locale.dat
Edit how many exp you get per block in blocks.dat (will be defined by my website!)
Edit how many Exp you need to place/break blocks (coming soon again!)
For adding a sign with your name:
Line 0:[Ranks]
Line 1:yourname
Line 2:Will be Block-Break
Line 3:Will be Block-Place


Features:

• Counts broken Blocks/placed Blocks.
• Get different Exp. per Block.
• Tells this to you
• Will auto-check on startup for new updates!
• Blocks now need some exp till they can be broken (coming soon again!)
• You can place signs who will display your Rank to all Players passing by

ToDo:

• Rise custom levels (and get something from it)
• Add new things to track
• Overhaul Website to get detailed statistics!

Lol it tells me everytime i break a block, a bit spammy + its German =S, could you make it announce for breaking 100blocks in total like, 100 200 300 400 and so on
And we like to place blocks not destroy =D
Now i tried it. I broke 300 blocks and its alots of spam o.o but i think its very nice, if it would spam less and tell also how many blocks other have destroyed.
When i type /ranks it says - usage description here.

Sorry for this, after some changes in 1.1, i forgot to delete some debugging messages, which is the spamming.

I'll go first on custom messages and lateron with block-placing.

yes it matters, because scripts parse titles for updates

Looks like it works really good! For next version make a " ranks all " shows top 10 ranks + give rank for placing blocks. Btw this is very very good! i give you big ++++

P.S - I love the colour you added to it

 

For showing up the top 10 ranks, i have to change the reading-system, so i think, that will be in the future, but tomorrow i'll start on block-placing (should it get packed together or should there be two ranks one for placing one for breaking?)

 

Yes that sounds very nice, and 100 Block destroyed already! xD. And the two ranks is good idea so you can see who is the destroyer and who is the builder =p. You can make destroyed block count number Red and Placed light blue as it is now =).
+ I noticed you are promoted to Plugin Developer !! congrats hehe.

Could you link this with iconomy? Users with high ranks get coins (either .01 per block etc, or coins per day based on rank)

 

A "/toprank #" command to see the top players would be nice, thanks.

You know what could make this better, if there was customized signs, that you could place next to your house!
So people could walk by your house and see how many blocks you break and use in general.
I dont know about you but I think that would be killer.

I would like to mention one little problem . My name is ICE in game, people cant see my rank with typing /ranks ice because it has to be on big like ICE and some people got like L0loOl0l names which are hard to make on capital letters, so I would like if normal text would tell the rank of the person which has capital letters. =p 1000blocks destroyed so far hahaha.

 

I haven't tryed yet to change the text of a sign but it shouldn't be the problem. will add to todo

Yes one of the best plugins out there!

 

Man, Our server is loving this plugin. But before you are going to make the levels which we achieve on breaking/placing blocks I wanted to tell that, one of our guys did today 9991 blocks placed and 6100 broken and in only 1 day, i have like 5300 placed 720 broken xD. Im telling this to you so you would make the ranks hard enough to achieve . Like last rank would be up to 200k blocks placed/broken.
[ I did 1000xp if you break bedrock D ] - useless but funny. Some noobs might try it.

Top 10 system works as good [ when its done ] and you dont need to always go to persons house to see his rank..
+ Many people have alots of houses like me, so where would I put the sign ? When all of my houses are good. I think that sign thingy isnt so good idea :S.

There could be like a contest or event area, set up specifically is more like I was tihnking, now that I think about what you said. Like a Main city billboard with some of the admins and moderators signs for the blocks useage.
IDK, just a thought that I had.

I'm now looking through the code of iconomy and how they handle some problems i encountered.

• First will be some extra customization of the displayed messages (like using +name for the playername)
• Then i will start adding the Ranks
• I don't know how i should use iconomy with it, should it give you money per time if you have a special rank or should you get money for experience (more like selling or more like getting)?
• So there are some questions i need to answer to make this work
• I'm waiting for your ideas with this
