I think you should still release it, at least its not an announcement plugin will there are literally over 5 of them which are exactly the same.
@Plague can you people make some fucking rules. I don't mind in fact encourage people to release plugins that other might have done. Some people suck at codding and others abandon the projects. There needs to be some kind of anti harassment system to prevent people saying OMFG THIS ALREADY EXSISTS. because I'm tired of it and no one deserves it. @EvilSeph RAGE!
And I could make the same argument that, as a server owner, I shouldn't have to sift through 20 plugins that all do the exact same thing, just to find the one that works the best. With Bukkit gaining new members every couple of minutes, and the plugin list infinitely increasing in size, it gets ridiculous when certain things are done 20 times with very few differences between each plugin. I'm sorry that it somehow offends you that a few of us have standards, but that's just the way it is. Deal with it.
I am a server owner. TBH Not the plugin maker or server admin fault. Bukkit should have a better system for this. They should include a alternate type system. So if it's a seen plugin it shows all seen plugins.
@Kane They will have a system, it's just taking longer than expected to be developed. If you haven't heard of it, its known as Fill. @EvilSeph has been pouring as much work as he can into it, but it's going to take a lot more man-power than he expected (or something along those lines) Until then, we have 2 choices: Deal with what we've got Modify submission guidelines to help reduce 'eh' plugins. I'm no expert here, but I'm pretty sure 1 is the only viable option.
Well put it this way. At least there's more choices for us if one developer decides not to update his/her plugin anymore.
