I won't port LogBlock myself to mcAPI. Source code is available, so it shouldn't be to difficult for someone else to do it, also I'm still here. so I can answer questions. If there is more than one willing, that's up to you to handle that.

The reasons I take this step, are the usual: I quit playing Minecraft about 5 months ago and lastly I was struggling to keep up with updates. The developement of Guardian made slow progress, so I fear it won't be ready to fully replace LB in time.

    Description:

LogBlock logs block changes into a MySQL database. Block changes can be placed or destroyed block, explosions, burned blocks, sign text changes, chest access, leaves decay etc.
It can be used as griefer identification tool, to find out who build a particular building, or even roll back changes by certain players. Other purposes can be e.g: Undoing of forest fires
All additional features are optional, to keep the database as short as possible. All database actions run in their own threads to avoid server lags.
The use of permissions plugin (or any clone) is possible, but not necessary.
Uses Spout for chest logging (but it's fully optional, and there is no need for the client mod at all).

    Features:
    • Logging for block placing, block braking, fire, explosions, leaves decay, signtexts, lava flow and chest content
    • Very mighty commands system, not only allowing to rollback and redo, but also to tp to blockchanges, delete log ingame etc. Full list of commands.
    • Many parameters for lookup/rollback/redo/tp/clearlog commands: Block changes of one ore more player, in a specific area, in a world edit selection, specific block types only, block changes older or newer that a specific date, destroyed/created block only, in a different world and combinations of all these parameters. Full list of parameters.
    • Rebuilding map after importing a backup (/lb redo)
    • Last parameter to use the parameters of the last command
    • Quick ingame lookup of block history a wood pickaxe or a bedrock block.
    • All commands accessible from console (exept tools :D)
    • Custom queries for tools.
    • Different tool modes (lookup, rollback, redo, writelogfile and clearlog)
    • Saves block data like wool color, log type, torch adjustment, etc
    • Multiworld and multiserver support (some servers sharing the same database)
    • BigBrother log import
    • Loggable super pickaxe plugin (not to confuse with WorldEdit's super pickaxe)
    • API
    • Webstats
    Why to use LogBlock:

Example commands: (thanks to tha d0ctor, read more about commands here)

/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours
/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h area 15 – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours within a radius of 15 blocks

    /lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1h - rolls back thad0ctor 1 hour
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1d area 5 – rolls back thad0ctor actions for the last day within 5 blocks
/lb rollback area 10 since 1h30m - rolls back all modifications within 10 blocks since the list 1 hours and 30 mins
/lb rollback area 10 before 06.11.2011 - roll back all changes in an area of 1o before June 11th, 2011
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 05:36:00 - roll back all changes of thad0ctor since 05:36 (server time)

    How to post error messages:

I won't aswer questions to general MySQL setup/installation/what is MySQL (there are lots of good tutorials out there, use google)
Please read the installation guide before asking a question about installation problems.
Please read the FAQ before posting a error report. It may be solved there.
In case of rollback or lookup problems: Type /lb savequeue and try again (when it's fixed then, it was a consumer problem, see FAQ)
When you post error messages, it's important to paste the whole stack trace!

I got that after updating. The server was able to clear out old entries and update tables to 1.20, but the queue saving was stuck and had to force shutdown. On second start I got the error again, but now everything seems to work fine despite of it..

The world is 128 blocks high at maximum, so there's no way to exeed a tinyint. Then over 24 days issue got fixed in ... um, idk, but before v1.00 :D
    -> http://leaky.bukkit.org/issues/1056
It's reported, we've to want on bukkit.
Hm, LB should download WE and place it in lib folder, when it's not on the server ...
    You could try another restart.
    Yup, thanks
    Should update the list :D

Have to figure out, what causes the connection pool to wait longer than 3 seconds for each connection. There will be possibly a v1.21 soon.

EDIT: Would you consider running debug code?

Is there any way for me to find out who placed an entity, such as a boat? People have been spamming boats, and I'm pissed...

Wow, I'm afraid LogBlock is just as unreliable if not more so than BigBrother. It simply refuses to log some things. I don't know why.

What isn't it logging? I've had zero problems with logblock for a long time now, always very reliable.

Figured out the cause of the double steps bug. Fixed it and made a pull request for bukkit. So, now it's absolutely up to bukkit when it gets finally fixed.

Um, refuse? What, and which error messages appear?

Where in SQL in table lb-man is exactly block ID? I need check who placed piston, cause it's crashing my server.

I'm experiencing a lot of "<name> did unknown action" loggings with new version.
Console asks me to check the conditions and report here or to bukkit, but what conditions? They appear during normal building. One guy was making wooden house in the sky, other was fixing creeper explosion hole at ground with dirt. One thing I noticed that the console messages that provide the coordinates always miss the second :, resulting into coordinates like 100:100100 for block 100,100,100. And seriously I have no idea about the "conditions" because seemingly random blocks in that sky house's floor were "unknown", while others right midst them were logged properly.

I also noticed that bukkit somtimes stops to provide blocktypes for a player for some time, and later it works again. That's the main reason I implemented the message: i want to track it down and make bukkit fix it :D

I can't really describe more precisely than it just doesn't log some things. Buildings just spring up and I can't tell who made them.

I mean that it doesn't log stuff, I don't see an error.

Could be the consumer. What does it say when you type /lb savequeue?
When there are some thousands of blocks, disable consumer.useBukkitSchduler.

Seems to happen when planting Seeds.

I've just tried planting seed, it's not the problem... I would bet it's also a problem with slabs placed on slab :D

By the way @DiddiZ , while we are waiting/expecting Bukkit to fix the issue with slabs on slabs, how can we avoid to see the log/console filled with this :

It could also be related to the infamous chunk corruption issue perhaps...

    I'll check.
I don't want you to totally disable it (there are more causes than doublesteps), but i can make it not show up for steps. Watch for next dev build :D

    Code:
figure out a way to combine rollback and clearlog
can't WAIT for this! its confusing already but when i check something and i see 7654 names, with 7653 of them already rolled back it seems irrelevant to keep those names on the log..

The current workaround is "/lb clearlog last" :D

I've been getting a few of these errors:
    Code:
2011-07-10 18:41:54 [INFO] [LogBlock] Bukkit provided no block type for the block placed by spathizilla at Antares:5680:121791. Please check the conditions this happened under, and report it to Diddiz or Bukkit.

This was on CB974 and using LB1.20

At the time the server had been running for quite some time. I saw the same errors with someone else so I went to investigate. To trigger the error for me, I was attempting to place glass. I believe the other (same errors) people were removing stone and doing nothing unusual. I rebooted the server just in case it had got into a weird state. However, it was still doing it after the reboot.

Obviously nothing is logged to the database for the blocks placed/removed when these errors popup (duh since it doesnt know the block).

Ok I got it to work by deleting the worldedit.jar in my lib folder, it wasn't even the right size. I knew it downloaded it the first time started 1.20, but It might have been interrupted.

    Thanks for the help.

When I try to rollback, it says I can't rollback more than 2880 minutes? Is there a way to fix this?

    @DiddiZ
ok man.. i got my local database up and running.. working quite well actually :D
now.. i dont understand the syntax i need to use for a rollback.. heres my delima: Names have been changed to protect identity* xD (i didnt know if it was case sensitive or not so during my tries i copied his name exactly
    Code:
    >lb rollback player Player world since 1d
    10:24:38 [INFO] null
    >lb rollback player Player world 1d
10:24:46 [INFO] There is no world called '1d'
    >lb rollback player Player since 1d world
    10:24:56 [INFO] null
    >lb rollback player Player id world
    10:25:03 [INFO] null
    >lb rollback player Player 1d world
    10:25:08 [INFO] null

Hm, interesting, so it's reboot persistant. Thanks for that.

    @Shylo132
    It would be:
/lb rollback player Player since 1d world "world"
but you don't need to specify the world, the world where you're in will be used then.

I think it is, I got the same error on an undeveloped bit of land after placing a wool block. I have the magic carpet plugin, and it was leaving trails through that chunk, so it has to be that. Using CB #953, LogBlock 1.20
Maybe this was always happening (bug in Bukkit), but LogBlock 1.20 added detection of it?
In the case of the times it happened on my server, a restart did fix it.

Im noticing random areas being rolled back or chunks missing from them. And then upon checking for the logs of who modified the area, i don't see any changes to that block, when i know there was a wall there. Im using logblock 1.10 still because of stability issues im reading with 1.2. But also i recently updated to the 1.7.3 server and this is when i started having the issue, as far as i can tell. I only had logblock a few days before updating so im not sure if the update caused it to erase areas or not. I have no clue, but rollbacks to times i know the wall was there also dont replace it.

Great, the first clue. Now: How to reproduve that :D
Could be really affection chunks rather than blocks (beside the doubleslaps), as it happens to many blocks that are normally logged properly. Also alredy saw a house where just half of one wall was loggerd as unspecified action. Don't know exactly wheither it was in an other chunk than the rest, but it seems very likely.
Yes, it was happening before, but as it got more common with v1.7.x (idk whether that's really the case, or it just seemed to me) I added the message.

Hm, are you using any plugins modifying the data values of items? Or storing something there? Or just having some bugged items?

Vanilla item data values ranges from 0 to 15, so are supposed to fit in a byte.
I alredy heard of a case, where wrong chunks got loaded, idk why, but a restart fixed it.
