I won't port LogBlock myself to mcAPI. Source code is available, so it shouldn't be to difficult for someone else to do it, also I'm still here. so I can answer questions. If there is more than one willing, that's up to you to handle that.

The reasons I take this step, are the usual: I quit playing Minecraft about 5 months ago and lastly I was struggling to keep up with updates. The developement of Guardian made slow progress, so I fear it won't be ready to fully replace LB in time.

    Description:

LogBlock logs block changes into a MySQL database. Block changes can be placed or destroyed block, explosions, burned blocks, sign text changes, chest access, leaves decay etc.
It can be used as griefer identification tool, to find out who build a particular building, or even roll back changes by certain players. Other purposes can be e.g: Undoing of forest fires
All additional features are optional, to keep the database as short as possible. All database actions run in their own threads to avoid server lags.
The use of permissions plugin (or any clone) is possible, but not necessary.
Uses Spout for chest logging (but it's fully optional, and there is no need for the client mod at all).

    Features:
    • Logging for block placing, block braking, fire, explosions, leaves decay, signtexts, lava flow and chest content
    • Very mighty commands system, not only allowing to rollback and redo, but also to tp to blockchanges, delete log ingame etc. Full list of commands.
    • Many parameters for lookup/rollback/redo/tp/clearlog commands: Block changes of one ore more player, in a specific area, in a world edit selection, specific block types only, block changes older or newer that a specific date, destroyed/created block only, in a different world and combinations of all these parameters. Full list of parameters.
    • Rebuilding map after importing a backup (/lb redo)
    • Last parameter to use the parameters of the last command
    • Quick ingame lookup of block history a wood pickaxe or a bedrock block.
    • All commands accessible from console (exept tools :D)
    • Custom queries for tools.
    • Different tool modes (lookup, rollback, redo, writelogfile and clearlog)
    • Saves block data like wool color, log type, torch adjustment, etc
    • Multiworld and multiserver support (some servers sharing the same database)
    • BigBrother log import
    • Loggable super pickaxe plugin (not to confuse with WorldEdit's super pickaxe)
    • API
    • Webstats
    Why to use LogBlock:

Example commands: (thanks to tha d0ctor, read more about commands here)

/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours
/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h area 15 – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours within a radius of 15 blocks

    /lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1h - rolls back thad0ctor 1 hour
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1d area 5 – rolls back thad0ctor actions for the last day within 5 blocks
/lb rollback area 10 since 1h30m - rolls back all modifications within 10 blocks since the list 1 hours and 30 mins
/lb rollback area 10 before 06.11.2011 - roll back all changes in an area of 1o before June 11th, 2011
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 05:36:00 - roll back all changes of thad0ctor since 05:36 (server time)

    How to post error messages:

I won't aswer questions to general MySQL setup/installation/what is MySQL (there are lots of good tutorials out there, use google)
Please read the installation guide before asking a question about installation problems.
Please read the FAQ before posting a error report. It may be solved there.
In case of rollback or lookup problems: Type /lb savequeue and try again (when it's fixed then, it was a consumer problem, see FAQ)
When you post error messages, it's important to paste the whole stack trace!

I must not, because I have no idea what that is. All I did was download the plugin, place in the plugins folder, and run... I changed the 3306 port to 25565, my open port for the server. Could you explain how I get a "MySQL" server on localhost? Thanks!

  3. Your method still doesn't work. I even tried to make a new mysql table and it still doesnt show any changes in world
world_nether, or world_the_end. Logblock seems to only work in the worlds created by Dimension Door.

Never mind got it to work.. Had to edit the world.yml config.

Hey, could you possibly give me any recommendations for this queue?
It only happens when someone is in creative flying around, but it still stacks up quite quickly and laggs the server.

    Config:

    timePerRun: 1000
    useBukkitScheduler: false

    Had an issue with this.
Some one in my server decides to worldedit my WHOLE spawn and i couldnt log him back I used:
/lb rollback player (HIS NAME) 60m
But sadly his worldediting skills didnt get rolled back are you going to support this or is there another command to do it?
    I also tried:
    /lb rollback selection 60m
    Still no rollback.
I DIDNT BAN HIM WHEN I WAS USING THESE COMMANDS
I DID SET THE SECTION AROUND MY SPAWN WHEN I DONE THE /lb rollback selection COMMAND
Thanks if you can sort this out
We just loaded a backup file of the server.
But still there should be a command just incase some servers dont have a back up file =o

Apparently I have to have a "MySQL" server running on Localhost.... can someone explain how I get one of these so logblock can work? Internet high-fives will be given.

    http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.5/en/installing.html
Enable chest logging in world config.
WorldEdit isn't logged, but there is still a workaround
If you have full log from the begining of the world, never used auto clearlog, and the worlds random seed is still valid:
Make a selection containing the griefed area. //regen (this will regenerate the selection) /lb redo sel since 999d (this redoes all logged changes)
    Otherwise
Grab the superpickaxe, switch to lb hidden mode (/lb hide) remove all blocks placed by the griefer (if any), make the selection, /lb redo sel since 999d (there will be holes, and it won't be perfect, but that's the closest you'll be able to get without backups).

That's fine, the queue builds up because the server laggs, not the server laggs because of the queue. In fact, it would lagg even more of you would force the queue to process during cpu spikes.
No parameters given? Otherwise update to dev #84+
That' nothing permisions related, you just don't have your mysql server connected.

Hello. I can't get logBlock to log anything except player information. I've downloaded it and installed it correctly. When I ran my server it connected to my mysql server without any problems and created all the tables. Only player information gets saved though. I've tried the lb savequeue command. Most of the time it says nothing when I use it, but if I use it in the console right after I log out, it does say that it had a size of 1 and it saved, so the data did in fact reach the queue. I've tried logging on to my server with several accounts, op and otherwise. I've tried playing with the lb.hide permission as well, still nothing. Any suggestions?

I'm working on, maybe today, at least tomorrow.

    1.1 dev build:
    http://diddiz.insane-architects.net:8080/job/LogBlock/96/

May be stable, but due to the number of changes I can't guarantee all features working, general logging seems stable.
Please inform me about all bugs.

I would like to thank you for your plugin and give you my feedback on this plugin.

This plugin is simply amazing. The fact that you can rollback griefers that wasted hours of there time in just seconds or minutes is amazing. The fact that the redo function restored lots of faith into my users is amazing.

Our map got corrupt due to a thunderstorm cutting power earlier this week. I had a backup from the 20th, but some people were bummed that they lost all the work they did. I remembered there was a redo function in LogBlock and wondered if I could use that to restore peoples work. Turns out, it worked great.

I want to personally thank you for this plugin and hope development continues.

The only 2 issues I've ever really had with this plugin was that the command syntax just seems too long for me. I really liked big brother format (player Username -> p:Username) as it was shorter and just remembered it easier. I also have an issue with chest logging never really working. I posted this before but I never got it fixed. Chest logging will work at random times and sometimes when there are multiple people in a chest it'll actually "lie" and say users did things they did not. I have tried both spout and not spout on the latest version.

    Anyways, thanks for the plugin!

I don't know why, but I can't get LogBlock to log anything, I've checked my database, and there's the templateish stuff in there, but no logs, is this just me or is this the plugin's fault? Can I get some help?
EDIT: Never mind, I'm a complete idiot, I didn't even check the world options. Derp.

Hi All. Bit of a weird question.... I'm running LB 1.50. Craftbukkit 1.0.1. Normally, no issues, but last few days people have been burning stuff down and there is nothing in logblock at all. Is there a way to start a fire that logblock misses - I'm tearing my hair out ;-)

Sorry! I should say logblock shows the fire damage and i can roll it back, but no record of anyone starting the fire!

    Ty :)

Yeah, the chestlogging ... Bukkit still refuse to implement the chest events, that's why the current workaround isn't very accurate. And the commands style is a funny thing 50% prefer LB, 50% BB, for the same reasons :D
Try /lb area 30 block fire created player !fire

More or less. I had to do massive changes, so 1.1 dev builds may still have some bugs (although all knowed are alredy fixed), so if it runs (at lest it's reported to run before the latest rb) #94 is the most stable version, otherwise use #97.

Make sure you added your world name (case sensitive) to loggedWorlds, /lb logging helps to figure out the exact world name.
