I won't port LogBlock myself to mcAPI. Source code is available, so it shouldn't be to difficult for someone else to do it, also I'm still here. so I can answer questions. If there is more than one willing, that's up to you to handle that.

The reasons I take this step, are the usual: I quit playing Minecraft about 5 months ago and lastly I was struggling to keep up with updates. The developement of Guardian made slow progress, so I fear it won't be ready to fully replace LB in time.

LogBlock logs block changes into a MySQL database. Block changes can be placed or destroyed block, explosions, burned blocks, sign text changes, chest access, leaves decay etc.
It can be used as griefer identification tool, to find out who build a particular building, or even roll back changes by certain players. Other purposes can be e.g: Undoing of forest fires
All additional features are optional, to keep the database as short as possible. All database actions run in their own threads to avoid server lags.
The use of permissions plugin (or any clone) is possible, but not necessary.
Uses Spout for chest logging (but it's fully optional, and there is no need for the client mod at all).

    • Logging for block placing, block braking, fire, explosions, leaves decay, signtexts, lava flow and chest content
    • Very mighty commands system, not only allowing to rollback and redo, but also to tp to blockchanges, delete log ingame etc. Full list of commands.
    • Many parameters for lookup/rollback/redo/tp/clearlog commands: Block changes of one ore more player, in a specific area, in a world edit selection, specific block types only, block changes older or newer that a specific date, destroyed/created block only, in a different world and combinations of all these parameters. Full list of parameters.
    • Rebuilding map after importing a backup (/lb redo)
    • Last parameter to use the parameters of the last command
    • Quick ingame lookup of block history a wood pickaxe or a bedrock block.
    • All commands accessible from console (exept tools :D)
    • Custom queries for tools.
    • Different tool modes (lookup, rollback, redo, writelogfile and clearlog)
    • Saves block data like wool color, log type, torch adjustment, etc
    • Multiworld and multiserver support (some servers sharing the same database)
    • BigBrother log import
    • Loggable super pickaxe plugin (not to confuse with WorldEdit's super pickaxe)
    • API
    • Webstats
    Why to use LogBlock:

Example commands: (thanks to tha d0ctor, read more about commands here)

/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours
/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h area 15 – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours within a radius of 15 blocks

    /lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1h - rolls back thad0ctor 1 hour
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1d area 5 – rolls back thad0ctor actions for the last day within 5 blocks
/lb rollback area 10 since 1h30m - rolls back all modifications within 10 blocks since the list 1 hours and 30 mins
/lb rollback area 10 before 06.11.2011 - roll back all changes in an area of 1o before June 11th, 2011
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 05:36:00 - roll back all changes of thad0ctor since 05:36 (server time)

Am I perhaps doing something wrong that data remains, even after I do a rollback?

Thank-you for including door logging. Will that eventually include gate logging?

  4. Offline

The questioner is outdated? That would be new to me, it works here.
Um, yes. Forgot about the gates, wrote door logging ages before 1.8 :D

Im using logblock #33 and latest bukkit build #1216 and latest spout (linked in this thread main post) and the server crashes heavily with this warning when i try to login with the spoutclient:

I changed the spout server to #370, do i need to use a specific spoutclient too?
Because the error is still the same.

EDIT: I changed to bukkit build #1193 and it works now.
  8. Offline

No client needed. Here's the list, which spout version works with which cb #:

Ah, thanks. Now i understand how it works. I simply used a too new version of Bukkit dev.

Hi, I've set up my SQL and I installed LogBlock/Spout, but LB gives me this error and then shuts down: How can I fix this?
The SQL is on this machine, server is on machine behind this monitor, and both are on same LAN.

Having issues since I've switched to PermissionsBukkit. Logblock works as expected but everyone, no matter what rank, has access to the /LB TOOL command. I've tried fiddling with all the settings in the config and I've played with the permissions until I've gone mad. Nothing works.

    Any suggestions?
  14. Offline

with logblock 1.3 (all was working properly in lb 1.26) My moderators cant use the /lb rollback .... command, in permissions 3 they have: logblock.rollback so it should work.
only i can use it because i have - '*' in permissions.

Edit:// and there is no error

Edit:// Okay ive tried around some minuts and found out a workaround:
            - logblock.*
            - '-logblock.clearlog'
            - '-logblock.hide'
    (for my moderators)

    MySQL server not running?
Search for what LB says about permissions at server start, like permissions plugin found or not.
If it's found, try the workaround from the post above.
  16. Offline

The plugin is picking up permissions os its not that.
I've managed to block those who should not have the command from accessing it by changing a setting in the config file (tools: tool: permissiondefault - set this to false) but now only those with 'logblock.*' can access ANY of the logblock commands.

If I put that config setting back to default and then try and take away permissions from those who should not have them it does nothing: everyone can access the commands.

    Rather confused.

I am still on 1.26 but it seems I cant lookup a player and only their diamond ore harvesting ? any help ? :<
Also the new version is only useable with a dev build of bukkit right ?

/lb player diddiz block diamond_ore destroyed
    Um, yes :D
  20. Why have you updated past the latest recommended CB? :O Did the Bukkit team put something nice in 1192+? Just wondering :)
  21. Offline

Some complained about LB crashing :D
  22. Oh, okay. I'll just stick with 1185 than. :)
  23. Logged in the server today, and the map must have glitched, destroying this really cool building. Is there any way to fix just this area? I could probably rollback a day or two and it'd be just fine, but I don't want to rollback anything around it.

  24. Offline

    Use the command [/lb redo ....] ;)
  25. Offline

Use the backup, make a worldedit selection containing the chunk (//chunk) and type /lb redo sel since 2d.
  26. Lb works with world edit? So I can make a region, then use /lb redo or /lb rollback sel? Didn't know that! :D
  27. Offline

And lookup, writelogfile and clearlog :D
  28. Offline

Then your wiki is wrong there ;)

Thanks btw it worked great plugin and now gogo guardian ;)
