I won't port LogBlock myself to mcAPI. Source code is available, so it shouldn't be to difficult for someone else to do it, also I'm still here. so I can answer questions. If there is more than one willing, that's up to you to handle that.

The reasons I take this step, are the usual: I quit playing Minecraft about 5 months ago and lastly I was struggling to keep up with updates. The developement of Guardian made slow progress, so I fear it won't be ready to fully replace LB in time.

LogBlock logs block changes into a MySQL database. Block changes can be placed or destroyed block, explosions, burned blocks, sign text changes, chest access, leaves decay etc.
It can be used as griefer identification tool, to find out who build a particular building, or even roll back changes by certain players. Other purposes can be e.g: Undoing of forest fires
All additional features are optional, to keep the database as short as possible. All database actions run in their own threads to avoid server lags.
The use of permissions plugin (or any clone) is possible, but not necessary.
Uses Spout for chest logging (but it's fully optional, and there is no need for the client mod at all).

    • Logging for block placing, block braking, fire, explosions, leaves decay, signtexts, lava flow and chest content
    • Very mighty commands system, not only allowing to rollback and redo, but also to tp to blockchanges, delete log ingame etc. Full list of commands.
    • Many parameters for lookup/rollback/redo/tp/clearlog commands: Block changes of one ore more player, in a specific area, in a world edit selection, specific block types only, block changes older or newer that a specific date, destroyed/created block only, in a different world and combinations of all these parameters. Full list of parameters.
    • Rebuilding map after importing a backup (/lb redo)
    • Last parameter to use the parameters of the last command
    • Quick ingame lookup of block history a wood pickaxe or a bedrock block.
    • All commands accessible from console (exept tools :D)
    • Custom queries for tools.
    • Different tool modes (lookup, rollback, redo, writelogfile and clearlog)
    • Saves block data like wool color, log type, torch adjustment, etc
    • Multiworld and multiserver support (some servers sharing the same database)
    • BigBrother log import
    • Loggable super pickaxe plugin (not to confuse with WorldEdit's super pickaxe)
    • API
    • Webstats
    Why to use LogBlock:

Example commands: (thanks to tha d0ctor, read more about commands here)

/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours
/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h area 15 – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours within a radius of 15 blocks

    /lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1h - rolls back thad0ctor 1 hour
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1d area 5 – rolls back thad0ctor actions for the last day within 5 blocks
/lb rollback area 10 since 1h30m - rolls back all modifications within 10 blocks since the list 1 hours and 30 mins
/lb rollback area 10 before 06.11.2011 - roll back all changes in an area of 1o before June 11th, 2011
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 05:36:00 - roll back all changes of thad0ctor since 05:36 (server time)

In case of rollback or lookup problems: Type /lb savequeue and try again (when it's fixed then, it was a consumer problem, see FAQ)

I'm pretty sure I answered, but I may be wrong.
What does LB say as startup about permissions?
It may be using bukkit permissions where tools are enabled for all by default.
  3. Offline

Do you HAVE to have spout for this to work?
and just a future idea -
compatibility with VoxelSniper and WorldEdit to see who made the blocks by using those plugins - just an idea :D
  4. Offline

Will it ever be possible to view world edit edits?

Keeps happening on my server as well... No ideas yet how to fix (even if it isnt harmful, it is hard to read console with this constantly happening over and over.

    Thanx, in advance,

When i do /lb page 2 or /lb next after right click a chest it says 'There isn't a page 2' when I know it has more than that amount of items in. Even when i update it to 1.26

I don't understand how the hell mySQL works :( Someone care to explain? I don't even know if it's that that's making the plugin just not do anything and I can't go far enough back in the console logs when the server restarts to see any errors because I have so many plugins and the server providers only let me see the last 100 lines of console logs :/
  8. Offline

You don't. It's only required for chest logging.
And worldedit logging will be feature of LogBlawk (or whatever name we'll finally choose :D)
This one is harmful, as your outher regions aren't logged :D
    Try "/lb tool limit -1"
And then try again, when it works then, you probably changes the tool queries in config.
Without MySQL LogBlock won't work at all.
  9. Offline

So I'm having troubles getting it to log chest access, any secrets?
  10. Offline

    Yes , using permissionbukkit (mcmyadmin)
How to disable this for users? They can do /lb help to....
  11. Offline

    Year, it requires spout Spout.
Don't know if it supports it, but:
    - '-logblock.tool'
help has no permission node at all
  12. Offline

Right so I've downloaded and installed what do I do? xD I've tried looking it up but I can't find how to do it anywhere :/ Sorry to bother

I installed LogBlock on my server, but it only seems like it's only logging every 30 minutes and then it deletes the data. IS there anyway to change this?
  17. Offline

You enabled chestlogging in world configs?
Huh? No, this can't be, there is no way to configure something like this.
May be a consumer problem. Tried "/lb savequeue"?
  18. Offline

Never Mind, I think the problem is the griefed area was griefed before i had LogBLock installed, thats probably the problem. Thanks For the help anyways. :)

I have no idea where to start... Other plugins I use that uses some form of db system, I have always left the "mysql" section alone. However, if I do it with LogBlock, I get this:

00:20:41 [INFO] [LogBlock] Version check: Your version is up to date
00:20:41 [INFO] [LogBlock] Connecting to username@jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/mi
00:20:41 [SEVERE] [LogBlock] Error while fetching connection
    com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.CommunicationsException: Communications link fai
I've changed the server and I still get the same message above.

I tried to use a remote MySQL system I have setup and get the below error message:
00:36:59 [INFO] [LogBlock] Version check: Your version is up to date
00:37:00 [INFO] [LogBlock] Connecting to pxemc@jdbc:mysql://
00:37:00 [SEVERE] [LogBlock] Error while fetching connection
java.sql.SQLException: Access denied for user 'pxemc'@'' (using passw
    ord: YES)
I'm curios, why is it going at my local domain address when I have it specified to

I installed yum'd MySQL on my server,, and went back to the default settings and still get the first error message. I do not know my way around MySQL at all nor it's commands.

I'm running CentOS 6 --nogui-- as my server
    LB: 1.26
    CB: 1064

    Help please!

Will add a option to disable, to make it clearer, but until then you have to disable chest logging for all worlds.
Looks like you didn't set remote rights:
    GRANT ALL ON minecraft TO 'pxemc'@'%';
