    CatchMe or CaptureMe
    -=-A continuation of CatchMe-=-

    [IMG] Image missing -Organizing Dropbox-

CaptureMe is a PvP plugin that works with WorldGuard to allow the players to capture certain points
[1000] is the clarified version of craftbukkit for this plugin. I'm sure that it works with any 1.6.6 build however.

Here is a little video I made for usage to save me "halp" moments:
-Organizing Dropbox video un-available at the moment-

    Plugin Release Content
Please see the old "catchme" made by Scorpia for more information.
    Defining Areas (open)

A catching area is defined with 'flags':

    • duration : number of periods before becoming neutral(default value: 1)
    • period : delay in seconds between each earn money (default value: 900)
    • time-catch : delay in seconds before capturing the area (default value: 30)
    • money-amount : money earned after each period (default value: 0)
    • ffa : if set true, groups'players are allowed to capture the area for their own profit. (default value: false)
And catchgroups which will be the only groups allowed to capture the area.

You can define it with ingame commands or manually.

    In-game commands

To define it, just open the chat and write : '/cm addarea myarea'

You'll have to set groups with : '/cm addgroup myarea mygroup1' '/cm addgroup myarea mygroup2' (groups must exist !)

And if you want to change default options : '/cm flag catching-<flag> X' (see flags in the next part)

CatchMe integrate Lists, Permissions and Factions.

You can specify as a group, any group created via those plugins.

Warning : with Factions, if you change the tag of a faction, the modification will not be applied in catchgroups.

    Editing config file

To define it, edit catchme/worlds/your-world/regions.yml (replace your-world by your current world name), or create it if it doesn't exist.

The file is structured as follows :
                            flags: {catching-area: Y, catching-duration: X, catching-period: X, catching-time-catch: X, catching-money-amount: X, catching-flag: Z}
                            catchgroups: [myGroup1, myGroup2]
                            flags: {catching-area: Y, catching-duration: X, catching-period: X, catching-time-catch: X, catching-money-amount: X, catching-flag: Z}
                            catchgroups: [myGroup1, myGroup3, myGroup4]
    Y is allow or deny
X is a positive integer value.
    Z is on/true/yes/1 or off/false/no/0.
If you don't specify one of theses flags, the default value will be used.

For catching-duration, if you use 0 as value, the duration will be infinite.

    The Language File (open)

You can redefine all ingame messages.
To do that, create path /catchme/lang/ (if not exists) in directory plugin.
Then, create file lang.yml. Now you have MyMinecraftServer/plugin/catchme/lang/lang.yml

Copy/Paste the following code (here are default values).

                          receive-money: You receive
                          now-controls: now controls
                          from: from
                          enter-catchzone: You enter the catchzone
                          controlled-by: controlled by
You don't have to specify all lines, just the ones you want to change the default text.

Then, you just have to replace the sample text by whatever you want.

Old Catchme [740] claimed by administrator to be discontinued

    See Post:
CaptureMe is a PvP plugin that uses the WorldGuard plugin to mark the areas of capture, -CaptureMe supports Permissions, Factions, and Lists. As the group (assigned by admin) hold the position, money is awarded to the Group. (Team) At least 1 team member must be in the region (marked by WorldGuard)

If an enemy enters during the capture phase (from a different group), it gets cancelled,Unoccupied areas return to neutral status after a period of time.

This plugin is supported by the latest recommended build which at this point is: CraftBukkit Build [1000]

Note again that this plugin is from another developer and the plugin was claimed to be discontinued, I will add more features to the plugin and change its name soon.

    Please Note:
All credit goes to the original Author Scorpia for the idea, coding and name of plugin, I will immediately remove this updated plugin if directed to do so by Scorpia or any administrator of Bukkit.org. I am simply continuing this plugin for the sake of the community. Thank you.

    Current Features of Catchme

    • [Step 3] Alter the Lang, Region files if you wish
    • [Step 4] Install all needed plugins for Captureme
    • [Step 5] Start up the server once all files are altered to the admins needs
    • [Step 6] have fun and enjoy.
To Limit copiers please request my source with a reason you are requesting, like a feature that Capture Me has that you want your plugin to have thanks again.

"Seems like a awesome plugin but what are you working on now?"
    - At the moment I am working on writing the entire plugin again, also I am renaming the plugin.
    - I'm adding a few features to my TODO list, like certain mobs spawning in the area assigned by the WorldGuard plugin.

    • Yes, yes it is working. You are doing something wrong. Captureme is tested by 10 servers all of which had no problems. Let me walk you through.
    1. Install Captureme[Latest] and Catchme folder into your plugin directory.
    2. Reload/Restart the server. (Optional)
    3. Add the World Guard Region THEN RELOAD/RESTART THE SERVER.
    4. use /cm <add_area> on your new region.
    5. Should work.
    -Known Bugs:-
--I currently know of 1 bug and that is the ffa flag and value not working properly. I am fixing this problem in the next update.

Can you put register API support instead of just iConomy. This will make your plugin work with all econ systems and will make it more desirable to many servers.
  6. Offline

I've been having a few problems regarding the flags but I'm working on this now.
  7. Offline

Anyway to make this multi-world supported?
  8. Offline

    I could look into it.
  9. Offline

I would <3 you dearly.... Also might I suggest a sort of crazy CaptureMe, where the world-guarded region moves to random locations?
  10. Offline

Sounds like a nice suggestion :), Like the version says this is the first release from the original author so I'm there a few complications ;)
  11. Offline

CaptureMe mutli-world support, this is the easier of the two imo, but idk i'm not the Java dev but here's what I have in mind: I am a man of Automatics so, I've got work for ya (i'll be basing it off the premise of my request from this: http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/fu...ly-manage-capture-the-record-games-860.20909/ my posts are towards the end, since I pitched it recently as well.)

Phase 1: Join/team creations. Server announces a match will be starting soon (also would annouce a prize, user configurable with iConomy or item based prizes, or even random), based upon a scheduled system (lets say a hour, this will be user configurable) Allow 5 minutes for people to join a team, maybe make an option in a config file to hold static world-teams, permission based teams, FFA and whatever else you can think of. Plugin checks to see if teams are balanced (make an config file option for this as well possibly?) if teams aren't balanced Game is postponed for 30 seconds to allow people to switch.

(before the game starts a server admin/permission node user defines a configurable radius or coordinates for the Hill to appear at, if mult-world is enabled he would define it per world via config or in-game.)

Phase two: Game time, plugin announces coordinates of the Hill. Everyone rushes :) Plugin start's to tally points towards the team or player who's ever in the hill radius, pvp is enabled. After a set amount of point or time that have been collected (if CrazyHill enabled) the hill will move and the server will shout out more coordinates, (maybe even set compass's to that destination) games play continues. If someone gets killed during this phase items would not be lost or destroyed, but blocks used, would be part of normal server rules (server configurable) this would keep chances of gaining the hill back balanced and not dominated by the controller.

Phase three: Winning, The team/player/side who wins will get announced, (possibly put up on a top leaders board?) and the set/random prized configured will each go to a players inventory if not dropped on the ground in front of them if their inventory is full. Game closes, next game timing will be announced once, but players can check via a command when the next game is here.

If there's any confusion or mechanics that I missed working together, ask me and I can elaborate more on this. :) By no means should you be obligated to follow this to a 'T', hope these suggestions help. Hope to hear from ya back soon!

Great Plugin! Thank you for taking this up and putting your time into it!

I am wanting to use this plugin, but would like to know if I can do something inparticular with it. If I can, apologies for my ignorance. Please just point out that I missed the point and I will figure it out. If not, please consider it a recommendation.

Clearly, you've taken the time to integrate it into economy plugins. I like that money can be earned, but can you have it ALSO negatively affect another opposing faction?

For example; While one person is holding the hill, 'they or their faction' get X amount per Y interval. Meanwhile, 'all or specified' opposing logged in faction members are losing X amount per Y interval.

This way, it creates incentive for members to come knock them down and take over the pillar. My server is incredibly friendly, even cross faction, which is great. However, they're so friendly, they don't want to risk possibly damaging a friendship with a cross-faction member while PVPing. I need something to keep it fun and provide incentive and absolutely think this would do the trick.

The only other feature, secondarily, that would be nice, is to necessitate a certain number of people to be logged in for the event to be active. This is merely a follow up thought, but would be appreciated, so people don't camp the hill on off hours.

Thank you again for your work on this!

Oh my God. If you ever played Dark Age of Camelot, you know why this is so incredible sounding to me.

You sir, are a hero. Is there a way you could perhaps integrate it with player buffs. or something. So I capture a keep, and I get a double drop rate chance of 4%. I capture two keeps, I get 8%. OR hills instead of keeps, what have you.

Basically, I'd love to turn one world on my server into a pure PvP Frontier-esque arena, where you capture keeps and get buffs or money for doing so. Entice people to group up in one area and fight over strucutres and stuff.

Get really far down the line as far as programming aspects, and perhaps have an object thats considered a "Flag" (You could take it from WAR) that you can bring to a specific area or shrine that grants a very powerful benefit (A lot of money for possessing it, more damage dealt, something to that matter). One or two objects to fight for would be great.

Looks like a FFA problem again I mentioned earlier that I'm having a little trouble with the Iconomy and the ffa flag, this will get fixed now. I promise. since the new RB came up have plenty of time to update this plugin I really love working with this plugin lots of fun. Again sorry for the errors really do apologize working on this plugin first thing tomarrow.

Thank you :D I love the nice feedback, I will definitely fix all errors and then start adding some features to allow your factions to have "nice" battles xD Right now I was working on my other plugin "Castle Mania" today but tomorrow I have cleared up to work on this plugin and update it accordingly to build 928.

Funny that you mention that I was just about to message the maker of war to ask him if I can use his "walls" feature; I would love to implement certain buffs, like I play WoW so I know a few. ;) adding to my todo list. And thanks for you nice reply :)

I'm as of now crashed, seriously I have imprints of "ERTYUIDFGHJKCVBNM" on my forehead, I'm preparing my pseudo-code and coffee for the morning.

So if I take off FFA... It might work? I have groups on toowould that make a difference?
  17. Offline

For now yes take it off, I'm working on it as we speak, I plan to have a less buggy version our today.

I've successfully completed fixing many bugs in Capture me v1.2.0 which will be coming soon, I fixing a World Guard issue I just discovered after testing.

Ok updated for The lastest build and added a video tutorial sorry for the delay.

Extremely interesting ideas. I will start this next week and hopefully a new fully featured version soon.

I got a question, if I use Factions, will it "captureme" in the factionzone, presumed I don't use worldguard for regions, but only anti-fire.
  19. Offline

Sorry a Worldguard region must be claimed, Captureme picks up the area claimed by worldguard and changes into a Captureme zone. I'm currently working on a self-zone procedure so it doesn't require you to use worldguard to claim the area. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. 1.2.1 should have self claim areas (using like a Axe or something) also a config. file will be coming as well.

That's good to hear! Thanks, Look forward to it.

I did leave nice feedback, but I didn't actually say anything about any errors or updating to the newest bukkit version. Do you have any feedback on the feasibility or current functionality of the iConomy functions in my post or (of less significance, but still a great feature) the function of the plugin not allowing the event to occur, unless there are a reasonable number of people on, so a single player doesn't camp the objective without the opportunity of opposition?

If this secondary response sounds anything other than genuinely interested and comes across at all pushy, I apologize, as that is not my intention. I am just very excited about your plugin and about the possibility/feasibility of these two functions and know that it can be easy to quickly misread something when you're so busy coding awesomeness. ;)

I apologize for not reading your post carefully, My head was in the clouds at the time. I was receiving to much feedback on the "awesomeness" of the plugin that I didn't realize what you were actually implying and for that, I am deeply sorry for neglecting your posts meaning It will never happen again. I'm as of now looking into possible plugin disable event with a certain amount of players on, I will include a config file so you can alter it at your choosing. I see exactly what you mean and that is indeed a bug that I will fix carefully and respectably. Again please accept my humble apology lad, I didn't mean to answer your post with a incorrect answer.

No worries at all! I appreciate your response and time. Hopefully, that iConomy function is something you are able to implement as well. The active player number vs active event status is a fantastic feature! Additionally/Alternatively, even having the iConomy function available to reward the active king of the hill, while penalizing all other specified opposing groups/factions would make it easy to control the rewards a bit better and make the camping less of an issue. Either way, I am very interested in what you are doing with this and appreciate that you are so actively looking for and responding to feedback!

    Thank you Orcem!

    This plugin is awesome!

One thing though do you think you could make it so players have to break a 5 obsidian monument to capture that area? Right now just standing in an area without any effort at all I find to be quite easy.
  27. Offline

I'm putting the capture point on a platform, surrounded by 8 spider spawners. They constantly climb up behind your back while you battle them for five minutes.

Now If I could just get the plugin working....

Updating to the latest version of craftbukkit is not the best solution. Some plugins are broken by that, so I've found it best to wait until the important ones are updated, especially on a production server where players whine excessively when thier plugins break.

That said, I'm about to try updating to 935

It didn't work, and it broke some of the other plugins. I can't just update to every craftbukkit that comes out unless there is a specific issue with a build I am using. Most plugin authors have better things to do than update to the latest API every week, and I have better things to do than deal with the bugs.
