ChestTrap - The redstone way of checking chest usage:
Version: v1.0 A mod I'm surprised isn't already made, and its simple. Just place a switch underneath a chest block, and then when the chest is opened, the switch will flick on for 3 seconds, then off. Used in conjunction with redstone, such as an RSNOR latch, it can be used to tell if someones been trespassing in your house, and maybe, with other mods, even trap them in!
    • Simple switch underneath chest to use
    • Works with single and double chests
    Download The ChestTrap plugin
    Coming soon:
    • Proper double chest support, currently has to have a switch under both chests
    • Customisable time interval
    • Possibly permissions
    • Video example
    • V1.00 - Release

Love it! Just one question though, do you think you could have it trigger from destroying (or trying to) a chest as well?

Still hoping this get's updated. I had an awesome idea to use this along with LWC and Portecoulisante to create a portcullis that requires a password to enter! Really wanna try that out.
Is there any way this could be made to not trigger if the chest doesn't actually open due to protection? For reference, what I'm trying to do is use a chest protected by a password as an input to open a portcullis. That way only the people who have the password can open it.
