SearchIds allows players to find block and item ids without leaving the game. It is a perfect companion to the give command or plugins like iConomy. Data values are automatically updated daily to ensure that even the newest blocks and items are searchable.

    Usage:
    /search pickaxe
    [IMG]

    /search gold
    [IMG]

    /search cloth
    [IMG]

    /search blue
    [IMG]

    search-ids.properties:
    Code:
    #search-type=[all|items|blocks]
    search-type=all

    # Update Options
    data-xml=search-ids-data.xml
    update-source=https://github.com/croemmich/SearchIds/raw/master/search-ids-data.xml
    auto-update-data=true
    auto-update-interval=86400

    # Command Options
    command=search

    #Formatting Options
    width-number=4
    width-blockname=24
    delimiter=-
    #base=[decimal|hex]
    base=decimal
    base-id=decimal

Are you sure you placed SearchIds in the plugin folder and then restarted your server? I can't think of any other reason it wouldn't be working.

this works great thank you! i always had the data values page open anyway, but having to alt+tab is soo much better.

small suggestion, since the colored wool can't be summoned maybe it should be removed from the list?

    Seth.D

Actually, if you're using Nijikokun's General plugin, you can spawn/summon colored wool by typing /i 35:hex

Replace hex with one of these:

    0: Regular wool
    1: Orange
    2: Magenta
    3: Light Blue
    4: Yellow
    5: Light Green
    6: Pink
    7: Gray
    8: Light Gray
    9: Cyan
    10: Purple
    11: Blue
    12: Brown
    13: Dark Green
    14: Red
    15: Black

    I love printers xD

Kind of useful to have a paper sheet which tells you all ids of the minecraft items.

    What a good invention A Printer ^^.

Are you now still using the wiki page or printing it actually out now.

Hey, I'm using your plugin on my server and as a library for my mod. Would it be difficult to implement a search for an ID #? I'd like to make a call to searchits.GetItemName(int itemNumber) that returns a String. I think its 3 lines of code i just don't know how to use hashmaps at all. Thanks,
    Joey

Can I request the plugin to keep its settings in the /plugins/SearchIds/ folder? Keeps the root directory clean. Also, since this is a general plugin, don't you think it would be best to use official names for all the blocks/items? I noticed some differences.

Could you possibly change reeds to sugar canes?

  24. Offline

    RyanH100

Why would he do that? They arn't actually sugar canes they are reeds.

  25. Offline

    Lim-Dul

Not according to Notch. The official name as seen in Minecraft is Sugar Cane.

  26. Offline

    RyanH100

Ya but suger cane seems stupid as it dont look nothing like a sugar cane.

And i'f your that worried about it

    Delete
    update-source=https\://github.com/croemmich/SearchIds/raw/master/search-ids-data.xml
    from the properties
and goto search-ids-data.xml and change the names. You just wont get updates tho.

    Penorzilla

Or the plugin could just be professional and up to date with other plugins such as the iConomy shops which uses sugar_cane. Sounds like you should probably delete that line so when it gets updated to sugar_cane you don't QQ.

I just added it to a bukkit version from last night. It seems to work fine... now I need to check it out in the game.

I'm afraid I have to agree with Penorzilla. If your plugin gives all those items different names that differ from the official name list, it's going to be not useful to me anymore. If I do /search sugar, I want to be able to find the ID for sugar_cane there.

I changed reed to sugar cane.. should show up in you plugin in less than an hour.
