    BetterShop - The "better" global command-based shop that ties into iConomy:

    Commands (open)

    • /shop
      • for those used to a plugin having one command, this is another way to get to the following commands
    • /shophelp (shelp) [command]
      • shows you all the commands you can use
      • can show specific help for a command
    • /shoplist (sl,slist) [pagenum]
      • shows a listing of items for sale
      • (if -1, all, or full given, will show full list. (mainly for console use))
    • /shopitems (sitems)
      • show full listing of items in shop, without prices
    • /shopcheck (sc,scheck) <item>
      • lookup a specific item so you don't have to read through pages of prices

    • Fully configurable colors and message text in config.yml file
    • shoplist can have text alignment (read config for more info): <item> <l(eft-aligned)> <buy and sell info>
      • - uses minecraft font character spacing, so is very close to perfectly aligned in chat
    • shoplist can optionally not show listing tail (or head, but recommended to leave <page> of <pages>)
    • Items can be colored in the new itemsdb.yml file
    • also in itemsdb.yml: kits!

    • shopcheck will run a name comparison check, and return all matching items

    • "all" is a valid amount when buying or selling: "/sell cobblestone all" or "/sell all cobblestone"
    • damaged tools can be resold for an adjusted value of sellprice*(1-(damage/maxdamage))
    • buystack can be given multiple items, or number of stacks: "/buystack wool 5" or "/buystack wool blackdye reddye"
    • shopsellall can be given multiple items (/sell all cobble gravel flint dirt)
    • plural-insensitive items: if not found, will check if plural & remove "s"
    • not just items can be bought anymore: can now buy LivingEntities, like dogs (wolf)

    Permissions:

    Just add the following nodes to Permissions' world.yml file (or data.yml file for GroupManager):


    - 'BetterShop.user.*'
    ^ Allows the user to use the list, sell, buy, and help commands
    - 'BetterShop.admin.*'
    ^ Allows the user to use the add, remove, and load commands

    Alright, so you have the plugins in place and set up, and permissions nodes added to the Permissions' config.yml. Now just place the BetterShop.jar file in the server's plugins directory. Then just start the server and add things to the shop. That's all!

    Adding Items:
    There are two ways to add things to the shop:
    1. Recommended, but slow: use /shopadd [item] [buy-price] [sell-price]
    2. Faster: use a text editor or spreadsheet program to edit the pricelist.csv

    • add option for amount in stock for surplus decreases how much item is worth to the shop

    • unknown error: MySQL connection seems to get dropped & won't connect until restart plugin

      • shopload should fix this, but iconomy will still be down.. if you have a plugin like hotswap, reload iConomy

    How would I make it so that it tells me how much 64 cobblestone is?
    If there is a way to do it, i'd love to know as it would make things a lot easier, thanks.

    Is there a way to set a stack of things to equal something?
    E.g. 64 Cobblestone = $10 altogether, and not setting each cobblestone to equal something, but a stack to equal something.

    Im adding this plugin to my watchlist for when you get some form of SQL support. I use a web based (custom) admin page to edit a lot of stuff on the fly, adding SQL support makes it easy to remotely edit prices and configs when needed. This would add a whole new world to your plugin and I would be more then happy to make a PHP webscript to add to your plugin for such a functionality if you wish. ^_^

    Is there a limit to the number of items that can be imported? Alternatively, is there any restrictions as to what items can be imported? In my csv file, I have an item #633 (called Oil_Water) that does not get imported... (I even removed the underscore from name, just to make sure it was not the issue)

    there is no (realistic) limitation to the number of items you can import, but you can only import items that have been defined in the itemsdb file (and 633 is not a valid mc item, unless you have other mods)

    another note: more items have been added in the itemsdb for 1.5
    i'm not going to make a new official release until there's a recommended build, but here's the beta:

    (includes fixes for wolves in 1.5)

    Thanks for the info. I did realize, just before receiving the email notifying me you had replied, that I was actually looking for an item that was added on a single player mod (Finite Liquid, awesome mod, I wish it worked on multi!)

    Is there any plan to store the last "cycle day" day, for restocking purposes? I only play multi with my kid, so the server is not always up, we just play a couple of hours each day... unless there's a manual way to trigger the new day??

    "/shop restock" is probably what you're looking for

    otherwise, the stock is really intended for servers that are up for long periods at a time.. i don't (yet) have it save the time to the next restock

    <buycur> <sellcur> does not work for signs. It defaults to 1 item so it won't tell the full price of the stack of that item, only one.

    Maybe this is a stupid question, but currently when people sell more than one item, the amount they get back is less that is listed in the shop, like a bulk discount (but for selling). I can't seem to find a setting related to this. How would I change this? (or can I even do that?)

    Okay I have a problem putting kits up for sale.
    I have the 4 default kits created at the moment, and I've tried to buy one in game - it doesn't work. I've tried various different ways of adding them to bettershop.csv.

    Here's the thing, for example with the diamond armour kit, if I type "/shopbuy darmor" in-game, it says that the shop doesn't sell the diamond armour kit, and comes up in blue. This tells me that it is registering that the kit's there, just not up for sale.

    Can someone please tell me how to fix this, and how to add kits to be bought? Help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

    You have to add them to itemsdb.yml too. I had the same problem; it's a bit confusing. Also, make sure the kit numbers start from 5000 in the CSV.

    I've tried that, there's possibly something I'm not understanding. This is what my kits look like in the itemsdb.yml

    And this is what my csv looks like

    id,subdata,buyprice,sellprice,name
    I think the problem is that I don't know how to add the item into the csv, what the format is for kits. I've tried "5000,0,30.0,30.0,DiamondArmor"
    Also "5000,,30.0,30.0,DiamondArmor"
    and things like "kit,5000,30.0,30.0,DiamondArmor" and I'm getting no luck whatsoever.

    Any ideas? =/

    Oh! I've just figured out what you meant. I'm really out of it today! xD

    So I have to make the kit at the bottom, in the kits, and then name it say "kit5000" and up above, in the item list, I would add "5000" as the item number? I think that's it, yeah?
