How To Make This Better?

I have my own minecraft server. And it runs fine with 6 people. But when i get 7 people in it, its starts lagging.

This is my setup:

Amd Athlon 64 bit (Windows 7)
2,2ghz (rated 3500+)
3Gb ddr1 memory. (2gb dedicated to the server but its not even used for more then 1 gig)

My internet download speed is: 120mbps
My upload speed is: 10mbps.

I think my pc should be able to handle more people i guess..

Does anyone knows what might be the problem? or is my pc just not good enough?

An Athlon 3500+ is an old processor. Your problem is most likely bandwidth related though. Go to http://speedtest.net and run it, then post the result picture (It's under the Share link)

 

you must have something messed up going on.
with 10mbps up and that system you should squeeze a good 25-30 ppl in there.
Its probably not your hardware...but plugins, and everything else.
You need to post more informatoin about what your running. especially plugins, and versions would help as well.

 

The CPU is 7 years old or so, the RAm is DDR1 which is slow, it's probably running an IDE harddrive. The system itself is barely going to work or 10 people if you're lucky.

 

Erm... guess im very wrong then... lol.

 

Is it better to run the server from the windows hard drive.. or the secondary hard drive?
The second one is sata so i have it on that now!

Nobody is responding but.. I checked with this website:

and it says i could at least have 15 people (even more) on my server.
Is it my plugins? or is it really limited by my pc.
