how do you run minecraft in backround

I was wondering how to run my minecraft server.in backround so i dont always have to have my ssh screen up. I am running centos which is linux.

 

I believe it is 'nohup'

 

XD...i thought that too...but i have windows 7 pc...i dont know how linux works

 

so just type nohub

The command to start a backround process on Linux.

 

use screen

 

screen -S minecraft
launch server
Cntrl + A then D
to resume screen -r minecraft

Yep, that's what screen does. Why did you just do that? *confused*

 

If he's ssh'ing it, he probably doesn't care about the window. He (most likely) wants the process in the background so he can close the SSH.

 

That's what it does! God damn it!
