HELP! My Server Has A Delay with Messages!

I recently switched my server from a windows vista 4 gig to a windows 7 home premium 6 gig and ever sinse i switched to the new computer there is a delay for chat messages! Please help! The server was transported via USB thumb drive thingy. Thanks for reading! All help is appreciated!

check your internet speed and pingspeed, chances are your internet is causing the delay .
try speedtest.com and pingtest.com (or .net or just google it)

It is also possible that one of your plugins is causing the lag. In that case i can't help

 

It will have something to do with,

1) What programs/background processes are running on the server and client computers?

2) What is the Internet connection speed of the server and client computers?

3) Your physical distance from the server computer.

4) How many plugins are running and how much memory/ram are they taking up.

5) Have you given the server computer enough ram in your craftbukkit starter?

As iKeirNez and flamedaces have already stated, this is due to lag, and nothing else. It could be client-side (your own internet connection), or server-side (the server's internet connection).
