Problem/Bug *HELP* Can't connect to my OWN server!

I have this IP xx.xx.xx.xx:25565 and I cannot connect to that server!
I can connect to my IPv4 IP any I know no one but me can join my IPv4 IP. I cannot connect to xx.xx.xx.xx which is my IP that everyone can join. PLEASE HELP!

The joining part at the end was when I used my IPv4 I TRIED TO JOIN On my Public IP but it said "Can't Connect to Server"
PLEASE HELP ME! SOS.
And I did port forward AND IT STILL DOESN'T WORK!

if your client is on the same compute as the server the ip should be "localhost:your-port"

 

@timtower I don't put the IP in the server.properties file

@shades161 I want my server to be public and able to join for others. Not just for me to join. I want it to be public

 

@ShockwaveMC1 AKA carsonfg for YOU its "localhost:your-port" for everyone else its the "external-ip:your-port"

 

@shades161 my external-ip worked before and I could use it then. Then my external-ip changed and now I can't use it
