Inactive [GEN] Essentials v2.1 [?]

    Unless somebody else is already working on it, I think in the next few days I might try my hand at adding in an optional teleport countdown timer (delay between teleport being initiated by player and teleport actually triggering) which can also optionally abort the teleport if the player's x/y/z position changes before the timer completes. I'm thinking of a simple threaded model for it which uses Thread.sleep() liberally in each teleport timer thread.
    My experience with Java is next to nil, but I do have plenty of experience with a variety of other languages, so I think I can hammer out a workable implementation.
  3. We have a teleport-cooldown that adds a timer between each use, can just reuse that.

    This plugin created the most embarrassing moment in Minecraft history.

    I found a newbie stealing from a regulars chest, so I get right behind him, and I'm like "stealing is not allowed."

    He looks at me, and I type /kill username


    I respawned....the noob picks up all my stuff, and try it again and just suicide a second time.

    Okay, i don't get it now... i get this with essentials and even without my plugins in the plugin folder.. I tried running on no plugins and still this come out... HOW DO I SOLVE THIS PLEASE HELP THANK YOU :D

    After looking into it a bit more, separate threads for each teleport delay might be overkill. Especially considering Java defaults to setting aside 1 MB of memory for each thread, and also considering Java has a nice looking Timer class to handle just this sort of thing in a single extra thread.
    I'll probably go ahead and start working on it soonish.

    I'm getting this same behavior from /ban, but not /kick. Essentials v134, craftbukkit ... that information doesn't seem to be readily available. How annoying. We seem to be on Essentials v137, though. I'll check the changelog when I have time, just running out the door and wanted to add my two cents.

    If you're saying that you get this with or without the Essentials plugin installed, then you need to post in a different topic. From the looks of the error, I can tell it has nothing to do with Essentials. If you need server help, post on the support thread....

    I am still on temporary leave while I get some real life things sorted out, so you can thank ementalo for this update. I had nothing to do with this update.

    - Fixed /me not using all args
    - Fixed /broadcast not using all args + added broadcast tag.
    - Fixed /spawnmob with mobs that don't do groups.
    - Reverted /help limits by permissions for the time being. (we do not know non essentials commands permissions)
    - Fixed /etree and /ebigtree usage msgs
    - Fixed /ban offline players
    - Added /essentials has feedback when reloaded

    138 broke the /sell command

    /eco give:take <player> <amount> has never worked for me either...

    so /help will show help for all commands regardless of whether people have access to it or not again?

    I think /help will only show essential's commands as of 138.

    All previous version of essential's has always shown my players all of the commands, regardless if they had permission to use them or not. maybe I was doing something wrong...

    @tremor there is currently no way to determine who has access to what for all commands, only specific ones. For consistency, all will be visible, I'm afraid. This should change as soon as Bukkit's permissions system is completed.

    @Dustin Is it possible that 137 broke /sell?

    I can't say for sure how /help works as of present, as ementalo is unofficially (may as well make it official) in charge until I sort out a few real-life things.

    thats a possiblity. I went from 136 to 138 and I haven't tried 137. reloaded 136.

    I know /eco <give:take> <player> <amount> isn't working for me with 136 or 138 either

    It would probably help more if you include build numbers, at least for craftbukkit, since "newest" can be different 5 minutes from now.

    ^ I always get confused why people do this.. the craftbukkit jar CONTAINS the latest minecraft_server.jar in it already, so WHY bother with it again???

    Just because it says craftbukkit-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT doesnt mean it is the latest version nor does it tell anyone what version it is since this is the name of every version so that the sever command doesnt have to be redone everytime there is a new release. Go to and get a version of craftbukkit, preferably a latter one, so you know what version you are running.

    I think you misunderstood me.. i (myself) am not confused by this process of craftbukkit, the versioning, and the internal workings of it... what i'm confused by is why the fsck do people download the minecraft_server.jar (vanilla) and use it with craftbukkit??? whats wrong with you people?? craftbukkit works solely on the reverse engineered server which is included within the craftbukkit jar!!! there is NO effin way you can use the original minecraft_server.jar unless you hook into all those obfuscated class names (ie: h.class, aa.class, etc...). i think i am wasting my breathe here. this should all be common knowledge by this point in the game. geez

    I'm completely with you on this. My servers bin has as few files in it as possible. Drives me nuts that a friend of mine has every version of every server type floating around just so he "knows it will work." He even has old hmod plugin created folders in there. *sigh*

    Is it possible to move the "plugin.yml" outside of the jar and into the config folder for Essentials so that disabling commands without conflict is a simple matter?
