Sorry for the lack of updates, our devs work overtime to keep updated with our plugin which has grown quite large.

    Hi,

maybe this has been answered but I cant find it. Using the vanilla permissions (ops). How do I make it so only ops can create "free" signs and other types of special signs? right now, anyone can create a "free" diamond sign say. Just glad no one knows about it yet :(

    thanks!

Could I make suggestion for another essentials command?

I would *love* an invisibility command integrated into Essentials. This would help with moderating on soo many levels.

Also, is there any way to remove the "You've been smited" notice users get when they're targeted with lightning? This would make it a lot more fun since they wouldn't know where it came from.

    From Commandkickall.java:
    Code:
    p.kickPlayer(args.length < 1 ? args[0] : "Kicked from server");

I've been getting a lot of this, a lot of the time. Is this essentials or something else? Does anyone know?

Hopefully you can clear up a little confusion on my part... Has the Essentials team taken over and merged the features/development of GroupManager into the Essentials plugin or does essentials merely provide a "bridge" to the original GroupManager plugin? That is: Is the original GroupManager plugin required in order to use the GroupManager features of Essentials?

If Essentials now provides all the features that used to be provided by GroupManager as a separate plugin, does it also provide a bridge for plugins that are only aware of the "Permissions (Phoenix)"-style permissions plugin?

In other words, if I want permissions support for all my plugins, some of which are only "Permissions (Phoenix)" aware and others which are "GroupManager" aware, do I now have the option of using only the Essentials plugin to support them all?

    Thanks,
    WB

I *love* the new lightning feature. However, I really wish I could bind it to some useless item like a sapling, so that there is no typing delay. Would love to be able to click and spawn lightning. Anybody have any ideas?

My understanding is that "GroupManager_Bridge" is "Fake_Permissions". So yes, just use the bridge jar and you can use plugins that use Permissions. I have several like that and it works great =)

This has probably been answered, but there are just too many pages to search through so please forgive me:

How do I remove certain commands from Essentials entirely? (e.g. /help /eco /balance) They currently conflict with other plugins and Permissions bars you from using the commands but doesn't disable/remove them. I have no problem with manually removing the code (?) if that's the only option, but I haven't the foggiest idea on how to do that. Is there an easier way to remove commands or, if not, a very nice user who could give me an example on what the code I'd need to remove looks like?

Thanks in advance! Great plugin, by the way; I've been using it for quite some time now. :D

Yeah... it seems, that now it doesnt matter with what tool i right click with, i get chat spam saying lightning is disabled... this is really annoying... I can't seem to bind a specific item to it... so as i use worldedit, bigbrother, anything that uses wands, i get lightning disabled... anyone have ideas? Cause if this can't be currently fixed, i rather use Essentials 2.1 instead of 2.2

We are having a huge issue with Essentials on my server, it seems like after 2-3 warps or teleports in generl, the players get a timer they have to wait for. I have it set to no wait, why is this happening? is the mod just broken for 1.5? I am using Essentials 2.2. Just the Essentials.jar

    can anyone help me, my
    - essentials.protect.exemptplacement
    - essentials.protect.exemptusage
isnt working, and i dont know what to do...ive put everything in the parser and its correct, all my plugings are up to date and groupmanager, essentials, essentials.protect, and spawnx(change spawn location) are the only plugins im using, ive been trying to find an answer for the past week :-/

here is my config file in my essentials.protect

    # - Indents are correct: YAML heirarchy is based entirely on indentation

    # Because WorldGuard's /god is broken/unreliable, we should try to take priority over /god. If this doesn't work, use

WHY DOESN'T PERMISSIONS WORK FOR THIS?!?!?!?!

  23. Offline

    ementalo

With the wonderfully informative error message you have given, I would guess that it is because your permissions file has everything in caps

    Rodle26

I am really sorry for doing caps. Here I will show you my config. Whats the problem?

    Code:
    # System is no longer used, but may become used in the

    future
    # Copies is for multiple-world support
    # Put the name of the world you wish for it to be a clone

    of, otherwise leave it empty.
    # If this file is for your default world (the one in

    server.properties) then you must
    # leave copies blank.
    # Example: copies: Derp - This will clone the

    permissions of the world Derp
    #
    # Make sure to rename this file to the name of the world

    that is in sever.properties under
    # level-name. So if it is level-name: world then this

should be world.yml and in the
    # plugins/Permissions directory (ie.

    plugins/Permissions/world.yml)
    #
    # NOTE: Do not use tabs while editing this document. Use

only spaces. A good way to avoid
    # doing this is to use Notepad++ and replace the tab with 4

    spaces.
    plugin:
        permissions:
            system: default
            copies:

    ##
    # AntiBuild is included with this. To disable a group from

    being able to build then
    # set the build: flag to false (build: false). If you want

a group to be able to build
    # then set it to true.
    ##
    # Groups can contain inheritance.
    # To make a group inherit the permissions from another
    # group simply place the groups name in the "inheritance:"

    like so:
    #
    # Example:
    # inheritance:
    # - Default
    ##
    # All permissions including the asterisks must be placed

    in single quotes.
    # like so:
    #
    # - 'foo.bar'
    #
    # Otherwise errors will happen!
    ##
    # Globalized Permission settings:
    #
    # If a permission contains periods (.) you can denote

    a globalized parameter:
    #
    # - 'foo.*'
    #
    # This will allow you to use all general commands.
    #
    ##
    # Single Asterisk denotes all commands:
    #
    # - '*'
    # If you give a group this permissions, do not have the

    group inherit any permissions
    # from other groups. Any users assigned to this group

should NOT be given any additional
    # permissions either.
    ##
    # To exempt a node use the - prefix like so:
    # - '-foo.bar'
    ##
    # prefix: and suffix: do not do anything on their own.

    You need another outside plugin
    # such as iChat or HeroChat in order for these to do

    anything.

The end of some of those comments in the permissions file looks like they go on a new line and are not commented. Might cause some problems. Don't know if it is causing your problem though.

    1st: love your plugin!
2nd: is it possible to disable "mail"-system so we won't see the "You have blabla new mail" on startup?
it's kinda cool but we don't need this awesome feature :) and I haven't found some options for that issue in the config files

    thx a lot
