I was wondering if anyone knew the specifics with how player UUID's will be handled in Minecraft 1.8. I am asking now because if each players UUID's become available to other players, then I will have to change a lot of code to be ready for this new version.
Here is a MC forums thread that talks about it, but I am wondering how this will be handled in the bukkit API. Currently, player.getUniqueId() is how I would get a players ID, and currently, there is no way for another player to figure out the UUID of another player. Do you guys think that this update will make the players UUID more open? and less of a secret value?
    Thanks.
